  1. FWIW my Nextbase Duo attaches to the USB-C port next to the mirror with a short USB C/Mini cable and no DAB reception issue at all. A ferrite core cable should help. I'll never drive a car without a dashcam again, since I've had 9 dangerous tailgaters prosecuted ;-)
  2. My 2.0 TSI also does it. Perhaps it's part of the auto comfort seat moving thingy?
  3. OK, thanks for your explanation.
  4. AFAIK it's mandatory for new EU cars to be fitted with an audible/visual speed warning. I know it can be disabled or set to display-only when starting the car, but can the desired setting me made permanent? My reason is that there's a temporary 8am-4pm 20MPH limit near a local school where the out-of-hours (and school holidays) limit is 30MPH. I'm getting quite fed up of it pinging me for doing 25MPH (under the current 30MPH limit) at say, 6am or 6pm. In my opinion, setting it when you start the car or making it permanent shouldn't make a blind bit of difference under EU law (I'm in UK so non-EU). Is it just me or are these "safety systems" in fact making cars more dangerous due to needless distractions? Don't even get me started on the overzealous AEB when there's no hazard present! I've now heard of 3 rear-enders due to unnecessary AEB.
  5. Is that because your rear passengers are not wearing seatbelts or do you have something heavy on the back seats? When I carry something heavy on the back seat (like a tent) I plug "dummy" connectors in to the seatbelt clips. Since it's a safety system, I doubt it can be disabled. Hope this helps.
  6. TBH... I preferred the open rails to the closed rails as the feet clamp around the rail more and appear much more secure. I also found it useful to thread cargo straps under the open rails for additional confidence. Are closed rails a part of cost cutting?
  7. I use an old USB-A stick with a C>A cable and it works fine.
  8. Just be careful when loading the car and don't stand too close to it. My tailgate was closing on my head every time I loaded/unloaded when camping. Dangerous and annoying, so I turned off Easy Open. Shame you can't just disable the closing and enable opening only. Yet another useless gimmick on thia otherwise great car.
  9. In the UK, we have the AA and RAC motoring organisations that can witness your problem and submit evidence to Skoda/dealer. The AA has helped me reject poor cars in the past. There's also tracking/camber alignment to check. Have you test driven an identical car with a Skoda representative in the car with you?
  10. UPDATE: Opening the boot from the keyfob no longer works, but I always prefer to open when actually AT the tailgate using the button under the "O" in the rear logo. So far, settings have remained and no more bashes on the head ;-)
  11. I've done a few motorway miles on mine at 70mph and a quick blast at 120mph on a disused (but safe) runway, no issues at all and felt very solid at speed. In the past I've noticed uneven tyre wear, tracking after hitting a pothole (the UK roads are really bad) and poor balancing to be the cause. Sometimes balancing weights can fly off if not attached properly. Hopefully a friendly tyre centre can take a look for you.
  12. It seems like every new product created is designed to frustrate and inconvenience the customer as much as possible.
  13. After being "bashed" on the head countless times when loading/unloading, I have disabled mine. I hope the setting is permanent otherwise I'll be kicking up a stink ;-)
  14. My Virtual Pedal has become an utter pain in the arse, so I have disabled it! We often go camping and I just got fed up of the beeps and the tailgate shutting and touching my head when loading and unloading. If I ever left something fragile half-in/half-out, it would be crushed. At least make the damn thing work on opening only NOT closing! IMHO it's an utterly useless and potentially dangerous unnecessary gimmick, set up the way it is. I actually wanted an old school manual tailgate, but they just aren't available on any car that I've looked at. The one on my RAV4 really did my head in as it seemed to take an age to open and close, not to mention the problems after 2-3yrs.
  15. ...and of course, YOU will be blamed for not having the oil level checked. It's ridiculous why we can't even check the oil level. The VAG design team really is run by "dipsticks". Keep a record of all emails and calls, in case there's group litigation down the line.
  16. You can always lean out of the window and make "brum-brum-brum" noises ;-)
  17. My 2.0 TSI Sportline isn't at all noisy on the road, perhaps it's the tyres it came with? The demo had Hankook tyres, but mine came with Continental Sport Contact, which I think are quieter. My previous car, the awful RAV4 Hybrid, was a lot noisier with narrower tyres.
  18. Good info, how do I get to that screen so that I can check mine? Thanks.
  19. My RAV4 Hybrid made minimal noise, but certainly audible to a pedestrian without earplugs, and looking where they're going instead of staring at a phone.
  20. I also had Thule Wingbar Evo on my Superb Estate and RAV4, but could not find a footpack anywhere for my Kodiaq MK2. They were either out of stock or hiked up in price on eBay and Amazon. I eventually settled for a set of Farad bars, which are "nearly" as good as Thule. The full set including feet cost just £100, lock with a "secure" Torx driver instead of a key, but were a doddle to install. I just put a strip of helicopter tape on the inside of the feet to protect the black painted rails on my Sportline. The best thing about Farad aero bars is that they are virtually silent at 70mph whereas my Thule bars howled like a banshee even at 40mph with the rubber strips in place. My Thule bars are now going on eBay. Here's the link where I bought mine, but are often out of stock: Farad Hilo Silver Wing Roof Rack...Farad Hilo Silver Wing Roof Rack for Skoda Kodiaq Mk.2 24-25Easy-to-assemble Farad Hilo Wing Silver Aluminium Roof Bars for Skoda Kodiaq Mk.2 2024 - 2025 with Closed Rails, the most economical roof rack for your car.
  21. I compared my 2L TSI Sportline with the equivalent Tayron R-Line specced up similar. The VW worked out at £6k more and not a penny in discount, so the decision was an easy one. I'd also have considered the Seat/Cupra Tarraco if they still made it.
  22. What works every time for me is foot under the bumper around middle of numberplate with key in pocket and then take a quick step back. At least the tailgate opens/closes quickly, my 2019 RAV4 seemed to take an age, but that car was utter **** anyway!
  23. I'd take no chances and get it looked at. Assuming there's an oil sump nut, is it secure? Sorry, I've only had mine for 4 weeks and not had a good look under it yet.
  24. I think it's careless drivers and passengers of other cars that need door protectors, especially those yummy mummies with unruly brats pushing their doors open at full force without any care for the car parked next to them. This is why I always get comestic repair insurance with every new car.
