  1. I already did my road trip. Fortunately chains where not needed. I had good winter tyres though.
  2. I already have winter tyres fitted, as I had to travel to a destination with heavy snow. I also bought snow chains as a backup, but when I tried to test-fit them on the front wheels, I noticed they could hit the suspension components due to limited clearance. That’s why I started wondering: if chains are ever required, how could I safely fit them? I read that in some cases chains can be fitted on the rear wheels, but that didn’t sound fully convincing to me, so I decided to ask here and get real world experience. For now, my Michelin Alpin 7 tyres have been performing very well on icy and snowy roads (tested already). As an alternative, I’m thinking that snow socks might be a safer option if additional traction is ever required.
  3. Hi everyone, I have a Škoda Kodiaq 4x4 with 19-inch wheels, and I’m having an issue with snow chains. Due to limited clearance on the front wheels, chains cannot be mounted on the front (they touch suspension components). Question: 👉 Is it acceptable and safe to use snow chains on the rear wheels only on a Kodiaq 4x4? Has anyone done this, or is there any official Škoda guidance or real-world experience? I know the general rule is “chains on the driven axle,” but in this case the front axle physically doesn’t allow chains. Thanks in advance for your help and experiences.
  4. Hi everyone, I drive a 2025 Skoda Kodiaq 2.0 TDI (about 8,000 km) and I’ve recently noticed two changes compared to when the car was new: 1. Idle vibration: At around 750 rpm, the car vibrates more noticeably inside the cabin than before. 2. Driving noise: I notice a low rumbling/deeper engine sound that wasn’t present before. This happens while driving, not at idle. The dealership checked and only mentioned a “minor alternator belt tension issue, short-lived,” but they said there was no problem. Still, to me the vibration and noise feel new and more pronounced compared to when the car had fewer kilometers. 👉 Has anyone else experienced increased vibration at idle or a deeper/rumbling engine note after ~8–10k km on the 2.0 TDI? Is this just normal as the engine beds in, or is it jusm me being paranoid 🤣 I am attaching a video of the car's engine noise parked in the garage! Thanks in advance for your feedback! 20250925_201033~2.mp4
  5. No I have not. I think the tyres need a bit of balancing but have not done that yet.
  6. I have noticed the same issue in a 2025 model 2.0 TDI 4x4, 19" Tyres. The steering wheel vibrates at 100-120 km/h. Car has only 5k km so far. Strange vibration that should be coming from the tyres. Have not checked mine for Rebalancing yet. I also feel a very light vibration on the pedals when accelerating and breaking as if the tyre vibrations are transferred to the floor and pedals of the car. Maybe due to the type of asphalt i drive on.
