  1. Thanks @pab567 - I'm very happy with the MIB2 upgrade to my MIB-high columbus 2013 Octavia. All installed, and nice to pick up the new features like traffic, WLAN and of course Android and Carplay.
  2. I have the same part number: 5E0035045C @pab567 I can't PM you as not enough posts yet, are you able to PM me for VIN as i'm keen to get carplay into the car and OEM seems like a better bet than the aftermarket Aliexpress units. Thanks!
  3. Ok, I made a frankenstein url which seems to work.. Take the bold part of each.. Working BT File: https://infotainment-cdn.skoda-auto.com/base/firmwares/MIB_High_%20BT_%20parrot_update_3_73_0.zip Not-working Maps file: https://updateportalmaps.blob.core.windows.net/maps/HIGH12f_P353_ROW_202345.zip Join them together: https://infotainment-cdn.skoda-auto.com/base/maps/HIGH12f_P353_ROW_202345.zip And its going.. slow (<2MB/s), but going!
  4. hmm.. looking at the error screenshot above, the maps update points at "windows.net" domain. The bluetooth file link goes here: https://infotainment-cdn.skoda-auto.com/base/firmwares/MIB_High_%20BT_%20parrot_update_3_73_0.zip Which is skoda-auto.com
  5. Oh, here's the unit's info.. we're in Sydney Australia btw.
  6. My daughter recently acquired an early Octavia Mk3 as her first car. Careful elderly lady driver, good service history etc. etc. The infotainment system in it still has maps from 2013! When I go to the update portal and search, it shows maps for 2024 which is great. but.. Clicking the link gives an XML error.. is this a me problem, or a portal problem? I don't think its me, as the Bluetooth file downloads. And the 26GB link gives:
  7. had to google him (thats how long I've been out of the UK) nah, its just one of those weird colloqualisms.. if I said that to an Aussie they'd be confused so I took the chance to get it out of my system. and omg.. MIB1 upgrade paths to carplay are um.. weirdly tricky. Much tougher than the RCD-330 for my other kid's 2009 golf.
  8. Wotcha! I got my kid an Octavia mk3 as first car - here in Sydney, but I'm what is known locally as a Pom Already had one expensive bill - the dreaded water pump, so keen to look at DIY for further maintenance, and back bushings are squeaky, so there's clearly some stuff to do. I work on cars as a hobby - most recent success was rebuilding a Golf 1.4tsi twin-charged motor which suffered the cracked piston problem which was detected early - cylinder walls were ok, and the car has done 10k kms since then without any oil top up.
