  1. I don't have the edit function - guess I'm too new!☚ī¸
  2. Good point, how do I change the title? I couldn't see any option to do that.
  3. OK, so this time, to stretch my Son's mechanical skills, I was thinking of getting him to replace the engine mounts - I could see 2 that appear quite worn - thoughts on complexity? I am assuming I have missed a mount too....... I'll check when I have time. 🙂
  4. I think I'll go for the 3m VHB, the strips only have adhesive application areas about 5-10mm thick at the upper and lower surfaces, in between is hollow.
  5. I used a tie-wrap in the end, not aesthetically pleasing, but it'll do for now.....
  6. And while we're on the topic of glues, what glue to use for the boot lid seal? It's quite a hefty seal....
  7. Now I've managed to find some used door strips, what's the best method to stick them to the doors, to avoid them from falling by the wayside in the future? Given that the car came with 75% of the strips missing, I think it's worth using something that'll keep them in place! :-)
  8. Well, I guess I don't really want one, as I can't find any for sale!
  9. Thanks, the car doesn't have A/C :-)
  10. Thank you 🙂 It's a Siemens ECU, and the string of characters across the side reads as thus; 5WP4 326 02 EF SME 811801 F024 0046 That '8' could be a 6 - 811601 Dated 16.03.1998
  11. I'm guessing this clip is part of the intake connection, but could someone please confirm the part number? It's up against the bulkhead.
  12. Thanks, that was my concern - how to find the correct part to application though?
  13. Ah, so we have a mounting rail but no accessory box! 😄
  14. No idea, one of the previous owners - but what are you referring to? 🙂
  15. Thank you 😀 I need the following; 2 and 3 (left side) 1 (right side) 2 (right side) I have mentioned which side of the car they are needed, because the one strip that is fitted to the right side rear door does appear to have an irregular chamfer at the rear side, which I think means that it could not be fitted to the left rear door.
  16. Yes, but each strip is numbered for the corresponding location - #1 for the front doors, #2 for the rear doors, and #3 for the front wings. So, if we take #1 for the front doors as an example (and assuming that the strips are the same for left and right doors), the diagram shows 4 part numbers for 'Protective strip for door' and 2 part numbers for 'Cover for door'. So I don't know which ones to look for, in order to buy for the car.
  17. Thanks D, the 7Zap looks good, but I do have a question - I'm looking for the door strips, and in the applicable selection there are 5 different parts for the front door strip! Any idea which is the correct part??
  18. So, I couldn't find a thread on this topic, what's the general consensus? I'd like to get rid of old (and not so old) oil seepage, and give the engine bay an overall clean, plastics, etc,. Any thoughts or concerns?
  19. So I should buy the yellow ringed one then? TBH, I might have gotten a bit confused with all the guidance on the ECT Sensor.... ☚ī¸đŸ˜
  20. No, unfortunately I had to go to work and the mechanic visited when my Son was at home, so evidently, he couldn't scan it for some reason, and since the sensor sits on top of the engine, and has a yellow ring, I thought I'd just replace it anyway, with a blue ringed one, as has been suggested by those more learned than me. 🙂
