  1. Hi JR RS , Well your pre head light video is light years ( sorry re pun ) performance makes by beam looks like candles on a windy night. The Skoda dealer has checked the settings are they tell the the beams are perfect. I am not an bird watcher ( feathered type ) but at night I can see birds sat on the tree branches ! To me the lights look as if they are 6 volt system.
  2. Hi cubbyq In a word No - I have accepted the headlights are terrible. I believe any improvement would be slight. If you consider changing the headlights bulbs remember to enquire prior to an MOT test that your car would pass the test.
  3. Hi , Clearly you are going to change the cam belt regardless of what the members say. I wish you luck but I personally I believe you are making a mistake in attempting to change a belt that requires an expensive electronic tool to lock the engine whilst the belt is being changed.
  4. I do fully understand your concerns regarding camshaft belt changing ( mileage and years ) but could I suggest that write to Skoda asking for confirmation prior to commencing the job.
  5. Hi , when I collected my Skoda Superb 19 plate the garage as part of the pdi had changed the pads and discs all round !
  6. Hi , well hope it works for you ( who does the car belong to )
  7. Hi Warrior 193 , Far better explained that my description but I believe he is going to try to change the belts.
  8. Hi , I would suspect that you have the DADA engine with cylinder cut off ( 2 cylinders close down ) I will put money on it you will mess up the engine timing ! See what replies you receive from other members
  9. Hi imart143 , Unwise unless you have all the electriconic Skoda equipment.
  10. Hi , I was written to by a northern Skoda dealer regarding both gearbox oil change and cambelt change.
  11. I found the mercedes app useless in that I paid for services and they vanished ! Distance door and window locking vanished. Ring fence the car and that service vanished.
  12. Hi , My C207E400 headlights ( had the dogs system ) were excellent and unfortunately the Bi-xenon are terrible ( not sure about the spelling ) on my Superb. It's really lucky I hardly drive my car at night.
  13. Hi Evolution13 , No , the gearbox is being serviced by an independent VW specialist in Worcester. The Supplying Skoda dealer of my car refused to quote as they say that's it's not necessary. The other Skoda dealer never replied to my enquiry. Skoda have written to me twice stating the gearbox oil change is not necessary. A mechanic I know well (Audi mastertech ) says it's down to the useage of the car. I use the car round town so the gearbox is used in a severe cycle so he recommended that I had the oil changed. What he did say if you don't have the oil changed now don't change it.( He did make it clear to me that this was his opinion and not of the VW group ) For your information using VW oil the cost was £220.00 including VAT Using OEM oil the cost was £175.00 including VAT The gearbox does not have a replacement oil filter as such. A friend of mine has a 2016 Superb and he very recently had the box oil changed , 2 litre diesel dsg cost £220.00 including VAT in Worcester.
  14. Hi nta16 , I have the car serviced annually by Skoda in October. I live in Portugal for 4/5 months of the year so I want clean oil in the engine over the winter months. When I get back to the UK I am having the gear box serviced as the car now has covered 65,000 Kms.
