  1. oh so glad I missed the first 23 pages of this and could not be ar**d to read the rest.

having done aerodynamics in 1971 the answer is NO

lift is achieved by the airflow passing over the wings. if you looked at the cross section of a wing the curvature is greater on the top than the bottom. The airflow therefore travels faster over the top of the wing than the bottom therefore the air is less dense above the wing than the bottom hay presto lift.

on the treeadmill the wheels move but the airflow over the wing relative to the ambiente air is zero so no airflow over the wings and no lift. Hence the reason why rockets point upwards before launch.... let the discussion continue but don't involve me!!!!!!!:orb_geek:

  2. Thanks from me too, first Skoda "57" Octy 4 weeks old and know how to do most things now even cleaning it (two buckets etc..golden) Well done to Soldatov for the initial post, what most of us think. Trouble is I spend hours on here when should be doing other things.

75mph on way down aver 48mpg cruise control :)

60mph on way back aver 63.5mpg :D otherwise wouldn't made Tescos arrived with 30miles? in tank, but remembered post about variations.

sorry in advance to those stuck behind me. 60mph for first and last time.

  4. After the help I have recieved from this forum, I looked for a hyundai owners club for a mate who bought a Stant Fe the same time I bought mine. One of the links talked about the cost of servicing and the guy phone round various dealers in the brum area and was quoted between £158-£328 for the same service at main dealers.

mate has advised me of this site who state pick up and drop off car service which will not affect warranty, wash and valet and 33% cheaper.

not due my service for 19800 miles or 712 days but wondered if anyone had seen or used them.

apparently there is a garage near me but I contact them on phone no address etc

    any comments?quote £125 A service £225 b service + vat and £5 oil disposal + extra variable service.. sounds like flying Ry*nair
