  1. And whs at is the reason for wanting the dash cam removed, I've had this on a few vehicles going in for service / repair
  2. Wash and vac, bring it on
  3. Message now come up on my dash for engine oil change, is this a service or just oil ?
  4. I get this almost every time I get the car out, 'more info' tells you nothing and nothing happens if you select 'install', ps its a '23 Kamiq Right now its also telling me it wants an oil change, back to Arnold Clarks then
  5. Definitely missing having a power supply that is dead when the ignition is off
  6. I'm usually driving at the time, so your saying I have to be parked up to update
  7. I get the update message regularly on the radio display, selecting an option appears to do nothing
  8. Eager to fit my Head Up Display, which I am transferring from my previous car, I was disappointed to discover there was no standard USB-A socket on the car, so rummaged around and found a C to C lead but this would not operate the HUD with or without the engine running, a bit more rummaging found a 3 way extension with 2 USB-A outlets that used the cigarette lighter socket, using my original HUD power lead the unit worked straight away, what it it with these C charging ports on the car ?

All in the same stable I'm afraid

But you have to remember how difficult and energy sapping it is for some to flick that switch with a single finger, I recall my early days of thumping the bodywork to get the semaphore indicators both out and back in

We are in danger of forgetting how to drive
  12. From a high seating position in a coach I was able to spend time viewing road signs, mainly on the M25 then down to Eastbourne, I would guess a good 75% were partially or fully hidden by foliage, whoever takes responsibility for signs really should get a maintenance program in place for pruning
  13. Thought it was a good idea having sign recognition on the dash but to suddenly see it change from 60 to 5 shows it is in need of tuning to stop picking up random roadside numbers
  14. After a day out my dash gave me the farewell message on length of trip, time driving , ave speed and the massive shocker of ave MPG of only 27, this is not a figure I want to see, it goes to show that getting caught up in rush hour traffic and crawling almost 3/4 mile up hill in bottom gear with plenty of clutch slipping, here my old diesel would have excelled with its strong pulling power at idling speed, then facing similar down to major road works only letting 4 cars through before changing again, motoring used to be such pleasure
  15. Must admit I use A C whenever I change cars, such a variety of makes, but mainly because the cars now are so complex even a 60 day warranty is preferable than trying to get satisfaction from the backstreet cowboys we have round here whose cars are, in the main, straight from the auctions
  16. Arnold Clark warranty on used cars is only 60 days
  17. I suspect I have a bit of turbo lag that would account for slow pick-up until I hit a particular rev band, could this be sorted by re-programming ?
  18. I have just installed my Nextbase dash cam in the Skoda Kamiq, not a job I was looking forward to, at 79 with body not as flexible as before, skrabbling about in footwells was not something I liked but its done now, I had a set of piggyback positive leads but they were something I could have done without as I discovered a convenient empty fuse slot below a 15a blue one that fitted the 'off with ignition' requirement. This exercise has drawn my attention to the longevity of SD cards, I thought their lifespan was limitless hence the number of years re-cycling the same card since day one, but it looks like its time for a replacement
  19. I had exactly the same on a Citroen Zsara Picasso when the weather was hot, took ages to locate but a bit of folded paper cured it
  20. Both the Dacia and my present Skoda use a 6 speed box, believe it was the lesser spec using 5 speed
  21. Didnt the 95 only have a 5 speed box
  22. I had a brief 6 month period owning a Dacia Sandero Stepway before a pathetic dealership backup had me replacing it with the Kamiq 1.0 TSI, both having a 3 cylinder engine and 6 speed box but accelleration in the Dacia was outstanding by comparison no matter what gear you were in and the gearbox very positive in its selection, granted I am still getting used to the Kamiq having covered only 120 miles since I bought it but it just seems a bit sluggish, 15000 on the clock and just had a new clutch fitted, have the engines been de-tuned for the sake of emissions or economy , though an average of 54 MPG including roadwork traffic lights and rush hour crawl is good.

2023 model, looks like the app is useless then

Under the impression that Downloading MySkoda app, pairing the phone and logging on as main driver the promised land would beckon, preloading a journey, updating maps, vehicle status car location in a car park, I got sweet FA, all services appear to have a cost linked to them and that is a mega off-put, am I missing something ?
