Have you ever been asked to slow down on a test drive?
Captain Sisko replied to Nick P's topic in General Automotive Chat
Kind of. When testing driving a Fiesta Zetec back in 2002. The car has loads of grip and I was driving a bit tooo ethusiastically on the M60!!! Not fast though. @Lady E - Well done up until buying that vehicle is yours and should have been driven appropriatly. Love the way the articles written -
TG Article - How Fat is your car?
Captain Sisko replied to RobClubley's topic in General Automotive Chat
They got better results with the Avantime as they uprated the brakes and stuff. With this 207 they just stripped it out. Made a difference to handling but not to overall quickness, although they did say had it been set up properly then it would have been quicker -
What did you do to your Skoda today?

Spotted my Alfa on a few videos I don't suppose any one got stills? Was moving pics from my camera last night and the pc crashed :( @ Yashicamat All you Skodas totally shot off :p but i didn't want to really rag it as I didnt know the track and want to keep my car relatively intact!! Needs a bit more work before I can really rag it a little round a track again!! My brakes need doing, steering gaitors and a good service. Awesome day out though. It would have been nice to overtake someone but I had fun out there No idea what happened in the morning when someones car caught fire and the emergncy vehicles were scrambled. Wanted to try the Skid pan and 4x4 but the officials were busy so I couldnt see how much that was, but it looked fun! did anyone else try that?

If you know a tyre place then get some part worn/second hand ones. I got one spare with deep tread and a Continental for £40 again decent tread. -
Rover 25 being offered (thinking of 2nd car)
Captain Sisko replied to justinbarrow's topic in General Automotive Chat
Ooooh sounds cheap...... Rovers are commonplace and I'm sure generic parts shops stock parts for these. Finding general wear/tear items for my Favorit was a breeeze. Finding similar bits for my Alfa........erm lets not mention that right now!!!! -
I saw a Peugoet 307CC with the top down!!! Yipee I didnt have to yell out puussy!!!

Would this work?
Captain Sisko replied to MartynVRS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda Forman
Remember rust is lighter than carbon fibre!!!! So I've heard If anything I had fun spraying the arches on my Felly. It did start bubbling/flaking about a year and a half to 2 years later...then the HG went late in 2008 before i got my Favorit -
The first event of it's type. But we've had BTCC cars displaying their prowess in Edinburgh too  I think it would be awesome if it did happen

Cars you don't see on the roads any more
Captain Sisko replied to Dr Zoidberg's topic in General Automotive Chat
What is it? I saw a Trans Am Knight Rider/Smokey and the Bandit 3 style. It did have a cut out at the front prob to have a strobe installed. -
We buy any car.....well technically yes although some quotes can be laughable I got one for £75 for my Alfa Romeo but luckily it's not for sale. Will easily fetch more than what I paid for it.....once I get it up to standard!!!

Yeah it's just a little disconcerting to see a good friend sat at home in worry over some lies which could ruin his career in teaching especially at a time when he has just managed to sort out other parts of his life.

^^^ What clown said Where I used to work we had people looking to shirk the blame onto others but if you can't accept that responsibility and learn from it then what are you doing. On the other hand sometimes you do get stonewalled by some complete idiots and it's hard not to feel frustrated by that. At this same place of work me and some other colleagues had a conversation/rant on this corner about the management, was good way of letting off steam!!! I suppose it depends on why the situation is volatile

My friend is in a bit of a crisis atm He did volunteer work at a childrens charity and had a young person under his wing to encorage/support on outings etc. Now he has been told he cannot go to work (he is a teacher) and not to go to this womans house who he sometimes babysits for/takes her children on day trips as this young person has filed some sort of complaint/allegation. This person has made allegations in the past too. Apart from sitting tight theres nothing much else he can do and it's been dragging for about 2-3 weeks and my friend hasn't been informed about what exactly he stands accused of.
