  1. Dealer called Wednesday morning confirming there are loads of error messages logged in the ECU, shame they obviously didn't check this the first time they had the car. They didn't suggest I would be getting my car back today as planned, I don't mind too much as I have a standard L&K estate loan car.
  2. Little coin purse in glove box so always out of sight - started with my first car, same purse, still works.
  3. ok a little behind on posting but winters fitted about 2 weeks ago - winter only Skoda Ilias 16" wheels, 205/55R16 ContiWinterContact TS 850. Lovely driving, no noticeable noise increase over original 18" set up.
  4. This would make sense ref junction issues due to breaking and maybe car 'rocking' as it stops, but not start up issues. Dealer has booked my car back in 12th Jan for a full weeks investigation - I have passed on your comments about the sensor itself being loose in the fitting. If they don't resolve I will follow up on your advice and find a local VCDS person in Cambridgeshire. Thank you.
  5. Wanted to post the same issue tonight, but I'll tag along on here if you don't mind. I have had exactly the same thing since I received the car. Long 3 sec plus continuos beep. Nothing on the screen just flashing parking button. Always in neutral, start up regularly but not all the time, mainly below 6 deg in the morning. Also does it at junctions at times, as though I am hitting verge or car in front/behind is super close and those junctions on an incline (yes there are some in the Fen!) Manual says its highlighting a faulty sensor. - Andy, We could replicate the noise with all the sensors when we tried your idea of walking round the car. It's been in for a re flash of the software for the last 2 days as I had an 'old level' loaded so dealer said. (They didn't state the ECU had logged any codes but not sure sensors are linked?) I drove it home last night and got even longer beeps and screen info that's never shown up before showing at a junction - all sensors round the car triggered on the furthest and under driver wing mirror red (hitting the car close)..... Looks like it will be going back in.
  6. Well I had hoped to post a detailed first 1k miles report 2wks ago, but the next 100miles afterwards turned out to be a bit more eventful than I anticipated..... Managed to curb LHS front wheel having a contraction on the way home from work on Tue 18th Nov ~2.30pm, Hubby drove me to hospital 5.45pm but we didn't make it, very nearly had my daughter in the back seat but MAGPAS, an ambulance and on call midwife met us just in time for me to move there, actual location was RAF Wyton Airfield/MAGPAS entrance. All I kept thinking about (I think it helped with the pain as I had no option of any pain relief) was what a day for my poor new car! Car dealership will talk of the newspaper articles and the mention of the car for years I expect. Scrapped wheel I'm sure will not be the worst of the damaged based on the time I plan to keep the car and winter wheels fitted last week, so they are new and shiny and I won't think about it for a few months. I haven't the time now to write a detailed summary (I loved doing it for my last new motorbike) so a quick summary is Octavia's are a truly versatile car, L&K version has been everything I hoped for after spending the cost of my first house at 18yrs, still to try out the parking assist but think I have a handle on all the other gadgets. Eco mode is not as bad as I thought, but sports is still the best mode. Oh and the brown is a really lovely warm brown, no-one has said the outside Topaz Brown with brown/black/Ivory interior is wrong once seeing it altogether (I do understand each to their own). I hope all owners make their own wonderful memories of their L&Ks, that builds on the initial new car pictures taken. Happy and safe driving!
  7. Andy - car looks stunningly clean and sparkly!
  8. Having just seen the pics of interior Andy (much better brown in these latest shots) I realise I don't have Colombus but Amundsen - sorry. so to answer earlier querys: I get Skoda and L & K logo on Columbus Amundsen but only if I leave it on 'menu'. Maxidot, I only get Skoda logo on start up.
  9. exactly the same here Andy. still gutted no dorr on either seat and they could have put a hiviz jacket in the holder....
  10. i think so as its.something I picked up on in early July - check back to p 3 or 4 of this thread and for 2 hatch 1 estate pics loaded....
  11. Oh Andy I thought my interior camera shots where poor but dear me. Aawwwgghhh.... It isn't like that at all in real life, as we know! Car does look crisp in white.....congrats! I get Skoda and L & K logo on Columbus but only if I leave it on 'menu' as far as I can tell over the last week. Still getting way too many beeps when I start the car for my liking to pay 100% to maxidot, will look harder now you have asked. I only have sill protectors on the front doors, with little ones rears will be required. I also think bumper protector would be advantageous longer term. Mats very much plain, I thought I would have got better. I also don't have any under front seat storage 'doors' just gaping holes that could be filled with lots of stuff that may well slide forward when driving, not impressed. Have you got just a hole?
  12. The pics I loaded showing the interior makes it look worse - it is so much nicer in the flesh, several of my work colleagues this week have been surprised at how brown/black it all is and works well together for 'Browns'.
  13. Is dealer doing this for you or private Co. ? Sounds interesting to me as I intend on keeping car a long time.... thx.
  14. I have come from mk1 fabia vrs hard as nails ride & sticks sticks like glue and I am finding the ride wonderful in the L&K, just as I hoped. Ride comfort was the only reason the Oct vrs was ruled out - i really wanted normal suspension with vrs engine performance but not option at time of ordering. Sport mode is much better than normal for drivability [emoji6]
  15. thank you for your clear explaination, I have no idea about 'the Terminal' so spent a bit of time looking at itunes and found I can convert to mp3 etc. A quick trial of the SD card this morning looks like its worked althought it takes one hell-of-a long time to get the album to play in the car.
  16. ok help urgently needed with new system of music on SD cards.... I hope someone can explain in fairly simple terms as well! Just got the car on Friday 31.10.14, its fitted with Amundsen. I have a mini mac, itunes and copied albums from the stored location on external drive and pasted to the SD card. I put card in 2nd SD slot. Unit sees music - albums & track titles, but says error unable to read 'm4a' (or something very similar). What exactly do I need to do as I cannot see anything about the format in the manual (and even if I did not sure I would know how to change......) (missing my 6 CD changer right now but on the plus side have found Absolute 80s on Dab a reasonable stop gap for evening driving listening!)
  17. I think the brown seats are a lovely warm chocolate colour and works well with the brown plastic/black polished trim/ivory pillars and roof. Nothing offends the eye. I also purchased the brown interior and brown paintwork without seeing both actually together - Briskoda members assisted with pics of their cars topaz brown, my parents visited local dealer to them in July to see the interior, really glad I took the plunge with it now!
  18. here are the pics as promised....car had done about 250miles Monday lunch time.
  19. 2014 BW40 L&K estate conti sport contact 2 on my Turbine's and I can't bend low enough now to see detail of tyre date.....
  20. Whats the latest status of car collection Andyvee?
  21. There are a couple of interior pics taken in early July, pg 3 or 4 of this thread. I took a load yesterday of my car but site was down, so I'll load tonight for you guys.
