  1. First wash today, good job I am retired and have time. Tried the bent toothbrushes and the didn’t work that well, ended up pushing a wet lump of paper towel round the channel behind the spokes to get it clean. Best implement remains the long brush from Lakeland (see photo of brush selection). The bent toothbrushes came from Asda, 25p for two. Read the instructions on the Autoglym can and remembered why I didn’t use it last time - I takes over an hour to cure! They did get treated with the Turtlewax ceramic spray that was used on the rest of the car.
  2. Washed and treated with Turtlewax ceramic spray coating this afternoon, will see how it goes. Also got some turtle wax shampoo to complement it but didn’t use it today as I wanted to start from clean, bare paint.
  3. I tend to read the reviews on here before buying tyres. Not bought winter tyres yet but it helped when my daughter wanted all seasons. https://www.tyrereviews.com/
  4. Will get some when it is clean.
  5. Just picked up a car with these wheels (would have preferred the standard wheels but we weren’t going to say no to the discount. The Karoq that it replaced had a similar trough but also had plastic aero trims which made cleaning the wheels a real pain. Looks like I am shopping for toothbrushes but one job for later in the week is to take the wheels off and apply some Autoglym alloy wheel protector that I bought three cars ago and never got around to applying.
  6. After almost theee years with a Karoq we set off to look at an Octavia and (for the second time) came back having ordered a Superb. We have been looking around for a while and I saw a new Octavia estate advertised for less than 30k so went to look. Saw it Saturday evening, dealer closed Sunday and Monday advised it had gone. They then found a Superb estate with similar discount (anyone else benefit from the September offer?), the wife agreed and we collected it last Monday. 2.0 TDI SEL auto with 19” wheels. After two 2.0 TDI SEL hatches as personal leases we have a third Superb.
  7. I shouldn’t need to tell them how the car works, just what it is doing. After 2 1/2 years I have given up, next car will be from a different company.
  8. Reported to the dealer that it was still stopping on E5 and their reaction is that 350 miles is not enough time/ distance for the engine to relearn and it would need 3-3500 miles. If it relearns and the result of that is the behaviour goes away then what happens when I switch back to E10…… does it relearn again and the behaviour reappears? The price difference is too much to continue to use E5 and the car should run on E10 (as stated in the filler cap) the latest communication reinforces the view that we get rid and move away from Skoda/VAG altogether. Daughter has a manual A3 with an earlier version (68 reg) and it has never done it.
  9. The Service Agent asked me to try E5. The car is going soon and we will not be getting another Škoda or VAG car so their handling of this issue, and others, has cost them a customer.
  10. Skoda asked me to try E5 and if anything it was worse on E5! Mine generally stops when it is out of gear (first instances were slow approach to a junction where you are guessing which gear to be in so you can slot into a gap, but the engine stops without warning leaving you stranded) so there is no load on the engine at all. If I stall it the SS takes over and restarts the engine!
  11. Dealer did not find a fault but recoded and now working better.
  12. Not been on Briskoda for a while but adding to the thread… Ours is a 23 1.5 tsi manual Karok and the engine occasionally does this. Happens at low speed and normally out of gear (slowing to a stop). Dangerous when that stop is at the give way line on a roundabout and the car is till moving when you put it into gear to pull away but the engine has stopped. It is not stalling - if I stall it the stop-start restarts the engine. When the fault occurs it does not.
  13. Tried the other setting and the longest interval between wipes in slight drizzle is way too short. Dealer visit coming up.
  14. We have a Dec’ 23 SEL which I expected to have rain sensing wipers. There were some spec changes between and delivery but no idea if this was one. The intermittent wipers appear to operate on time and not quantity of rain on the screen. The wipers also give a single wipe on occasions when turned off, most days they don’t do it but some days it is every two or three minutes when it isn’t raining. I guess there is a fault in the system somewhere but you can bet it will behave properly when the dealer has it! Anyone any suggestions?

That is it, must just be a loose one that was left in the seat at the factory. Thanks
