  1. Not sure if anyone here is experiencing the same problems we are but somewhere there are another 8 soon to be owners who are. Our car was to be de liveried to the dealer 10 days ago and collection was arranged with the dealer for 3/12. It left Grimsby but for some reason the driver took them back and didn’t deliver them to the dealer. Dealer can’t tell me when the car is coming as they can’t call off a car that has already been called off, carrier is saying the need another order even though they haven’t delivered against the order they have. Customer services referring me to the dealer. Anyone got contact details for someone senior in Skoda UK as this is beyond a farce.
  2. Just given back by second Superb and both had the heated screen - marvelous. Between us we have had five cars with them. Oddly was in Puma hire car the other week and the wires were very visible in the screen, looks like Ford haven't advanced very far since the Fiesta's the wife had.
  3. New to the Karoq but not new to Skoda, ordered at the weekend with the summer saver package. Orange with winter plus pack (which the dealer had at a different price to the configurator) and spare wheel. just waiting for a delivery date
  4. As you say, that mileage is low for an Accord, gave mine back in 2008 after 4 years with 128k miles on it. It was the most comfortable and least reliable carI have had. One recall, left me stranded once ……. Granted the Skodas I have had haven’t reached those mileages but the first Octavia did 110k in four years and needed nothing but routine maintenance, the second I had for 2 Years and did a paltry 30k (needed a secondary water pump) this was replaced by a Superb Saloon which did 67k in three years (needed the two secondary water pumps changing and the headlights reprogramming), second just gone back after 3 years and 30k miles (lockdown) and the more worrying issue is that it was the first that needed discs at that age, the adaptive cruise also had its moments dropping out if the sensor had any snow, or flies on it and one of the gear lever location switches had an intermittent fault which the dealer could not find (when it triggered CC dropped out) note all 2l diesels but the first which was a 1.9l They are a nice place to be but are very complicated (auto handbrake, led lights, adaptive cruise) and unless you need the space as a private buyer I think I would be looking for a late mk3 Octavia. Just to show that I may be wrong we are looking to get a new Karoq as the wife likes to sit high.
  5. |Haven't had the low battery message from any of the other fobs, one has been used occasionally (including the week before last) and one never used - both kept in RFID fobs.
  6. The second Energiser lasted 5 days (please change key fob battery message), not sure whether I can afford to keep feeding it batteries like this. There was a second key fob in the car but it was in an RFID pouch.
  7. Not entirely fixed, message last night when I started the car to change key fob battery . . . . been in about 5 days.
  8. Explains all but the beep when the tailgate had opened fully.

About a month ago I started getting messages about the key fob battery needing replacement and occasionally the car would not see the key, battery changed for an Energiser following the instructions in the manual and all seemed well but . . . . . The tailgate started beeping when opened from the button on the tailgate, not the continuous beeping you get when opening from the key but one long beep when fully open - something it had never done before. The tailgate button on the fob seemed to be very sensitive and on one or two occasions the tailgate started closing while getting something out of the boot. Three weeks later the key died - no messages about low battery, it just stopped doing anything. Have put the second Energiser into the key and it seems (36 hours later) to be normal and the tailgate beep has stopped. This time I followed the instructions on the Karoq section where you press the button for at least five seconds to reset the key (It doesn't say this in my manual). Anyone else experienced this? It is a 2020 SEL Exec with kessy and the key is kept in an RF proof container at night (old sweet tin).
  10. That thought did cross my mind but have changed the battery and it is working again, this time button pressed to reset key for at least 5 seconds. Will see how it goes but intend to carry a spare key in an RF pouch for a while. Three weeks from a decent branded battery is ridiculous. Managed to get 2 Duracell 2032s yesterday from Tesco and they will be in the glovebox.
  11. Am now looking for an alternate battery as that key is now dead, no messages at all - just doesn't do anything. Have switched to one of the other keys while I look.

Been getting the message for a week or two now so just changed the battery (Superb) and the old battery was a Panasonic and it has been replaced with an energiser - 2032s as it states on the inside of the cover. Was wondering why the book didn't say what the battery should be but being different for KESSY/Non-KESSY explains that. Bought a pack of 2 so the spare is going in the glove box.
  13. The button on the pillar disappeared some time ago, this one doesn't have it and I don't recall the last one having it. Don't recall the alarm going off on a ferry either. Two presses on the key normally locks the car and unsets the deadlocks, it may also unset the alarm. If you have KESSY I am surprised that it will lock with a key in the car, maybe you are only locking the door you are physically locking with the key! One of the books that comes with the car is very useful in occasions like this, it is called the owners manual. Sadly it isn't quite heavy enough to have much effect when you beat those who haven't looked at it over the head with it. 😉
  14. You get 2 unless you have KESSY - then you get three. Try comparing the physical key part from the three and see if they are the same. Looking at mine there is a number on the blade anyone know if this is the key number?
  15. You didn't but size wise it is the equivalent Lexus and costs 30% more than a Superb - you might want to look at their servicing costs as well. They are largely re-badged and tweaked Toyotas with different bodies on a Toyota platform - same engines and electronics (although Toyota may not import cars with those engines to the UK they use them in other markets). It is a brand aimed at taking money off the richer people who would never be seen in a Toyota - similar relationships exist with Nissan/Infiniti and Seat/Skoda/VW/Audi. Personally I find all autos have a lag, one of the reasons I drive a manual.
  16. I think VW were done over the emissions case in the US, after all the legislators said we will measure on this cycle and that is what the public see, VW did what they were asked to do. If you drive the car differently you get different results. My driving style must put the car into the test cycle settings since I once got 84mpg out of a 2.0 Tdi Passat and this car will do over 70mpg. If the cars they delivered to customers wouldn't achieve the test figures then there was a case but my experience is that they will. The Adblue started at 11k miles when it was new and stayed at that figure for a long time, don't recall it being higher but I didn't look very often. I haven't been commuting much so it has been mainly sdp use, probably 80-85% long runs to visit family and the occasional trip to head office. Car didn't sit around new, it was a factory order and manufacture was delayed by the factory shut down in 2020 - was originally due April 2020 and arrived September. It was reporting adblue range of 7000 miles last week.
  17. Had it from new and first top up, first service was 3 1/2 weeks ago and the dealer didn't put any in.
  18. After 16k miles the car was saying 2000 miles adblue range. Simples I thought, just pour some in before we go to France. Except it didn't register. Realised when the 600 mile warning came up on the way home that (1) I had added a couple of litres and it was expecting a couple of gallons and (2) that the car needs to sit for up to 30 seconds with the ignition on without starting the engine to register what has been added. 1.5 gallons added and registered by the system. Al least I didn't do what my father appears to have done - adblue in the diesel tank. He swears he didn't but no one else would have put adblue in his car.
  19. In intend to rotate mine in the next few weeks but . . . . . . . It is leased and I am responsible for tyres so my objective is not to have to replace ANY of the tyres. I don't want to replace the fronts and hand it back with half worn rears. Granted there is a risk that I will need to replace all four but I can't see me doing that many miles.
  20. Try calling someone like GSF car parts, they may be able to help and they will want to sell you the parts where Skoda want the service work..
  21. I am puzzled as to why people buy diesels and then fit a tuning box, why not just buy a petrol car with more BHP? With modern electronics they can tell it has been fitted, can probably even give you the date and time it was plugged in or unplugged.
  22. I have an SEL which probably has the same glass, rear windows are marked "V" and it appears to allow less than 70% of light through but nothing more specific than that, other web-sites say "tinting less than 70%" which could mean many things. Try calling a cal glass place and asking them.
  23. There should be a button near the gear lever but you might be a victim of the global component shortages.

Car is about a year old and under warranty, occasionally on changing into 6th I get a beep and the message "Check Gear Lever Position", adaptive cruise drops out, move the lever out of gear and back in to 6 and reset cruise and all is well. It ONLY happens in sixth and ONLY when changing into sixth. Note: if the engine speed drops and it wants a lower gear I get the "please change gear" message so it isn't that I am in too low a gear. It wouldn't start (Battery was flat) a couple of months ago and called Skoda Assist out and the technician thought it was one of the gear lever position sensors in the base of the gear lever, reported this to the dealer when it went in for them to check the gear lever position issue. Dealer could not reproduce the fault and is basically saying it is my fault for being in the wrong gear but that gives a different message. Anyone else experienced this?
