  1. G12 pink coolant.
  2. A step on the journey to financial freedom and affording to retire before I’m 80 years old.
  3. The end! Rusty has gone to a new home. Still coming to terms with it tbh.
  4. Morning commute today - and we're caught up.
  5. Quick job today to clean up the leaking joint to the heater, and fix. Yeah right 4 hrs later an extra trip to @repconz - really helpful staff at New Plymouth branch as always. The pipe I got was a bit snug and took some cursing to get on but I got there and the rusty pipe is gone.
  6. So clean, but Rusty has given me a job to do. Coolant is leaking from the heater feed hose. Should just be a case of draining the coolant, taking the awkward-to-reach pipe off, cleaning it all up and re-fitting.
  7. Quite pleased with that! There was a bit of an incident with some gold spray paint being used in the garage! So power wash, snow foam, power wash, hand wash, power wash, clay bar x 3, then polish !!
  8. Welcome @Nicky3d For the Brits - Tauranga's quite a long way from Ngāmotu New Plymouth but I am up there sometimes visiting a good mate who lives there.
  9. Taking the long way home.
  10. Result!
  11. Oakura, next to the Pa https://maps.app.goo.gl/xDe3Rh31EuLMrkLF9
  12. Opened the passenger door and the door pocket caught on the rubber seal…snap! It can go naked for now, it has been repaired before and every original connection point is broken. It looks okay like that and also gives weight savings.
  13. https://www.classicandsportscar.com/features/buyers-guide-audi-quattro The "Trouble Spots" section is an incomplete list of expensive things I've fixed
  14. New alternator belt fitted and tensioned properly, at first it was squeaky and somewhat embarrassing!
  15. Happy new year! Had to find some shade and beat the sun to get Rusty washed as it has been too hot. Also a guy in the UK sent me a customised Hot Wheels version of Rusty!
  16. A second clamp seems to have sorted the power steering oil leak.
  17. I noticed what appears to be oil leaking, over the down pipe, which would explain that burning smell I noticed!! Looks like maybe it’s steering hydraulic fluid as it’s on the firewall behind the reservoir. It would have to be coming out with a bit of pressure to get there. This clamp looks suspect, though looking back at pics it has been like that for some time. I’ve added a second clamp for now, let’s see what happens.
  18. New high level brake light. The existing one always irritated me. It was cheap, and has faded and warped in the harsh New Zealand sun. Plus after it fell off the window due to useless sticky pads, I made improvised brackets from a bit of piano hinge I had laying round.
