  1. It has an auto transmission so I haven't thought about whether that could effect it. Would it?
  2. Hi all The brake fluid warning came on, checked the brake calipers and floor for any fluid but couldn't see anything. Topped it up then my wife came home and said the light has come on again, this is about a week later. Still can't see where it has gone, any ideas? I read somewhere that it can leak into the servo housing behind the resevoir any one had that happen before?
  3. When I needed a passenger "black pack" headlight, ebay had one (and only 1) used one for £130 and he wouldn't go any lower, so I got a brand new one from autodoc. The discount changes day to day but I think I got 30% off. £130 all in and just be patient for a couple of weeks. FWIW I couldn't find a part number as it was on a sticker, and not embossed in the plastic, and the sticker was badly worn to the point of it just being a white space! That ebay listing above is a steal! PS The front end of a Fabia is exactly the same, changes from the back doors.
  4. Could be as simple as a hole in the air con radiator!
  5. The previous owner could have sold the interior I suppose, but having owned a LE it had a lovely leather, numbered, interior, Bolero, Maxidot, Paint job and also "chocolate fireguard" wheels - Pro somethings whose name escapes me. Swapped mine out for Zeniths (IIRC).
  6. No mate I spoke to one of the chaps on here and in order to do that I would need to change my binnicle for the FL one which would also mean a different connector cable and the whole thing coded. He is in Norfolk though so it is a no go for me. Phone can be controlled from the Bolero screen so no great biggie.
  7. Not quite sure what you mean mate TBH. That was how it was explained to me when I did the retrofit. My maxidot doesn't support the phone function buttons on the steering wheel and doesn't show that information on the maxidot screen. The newer maxidot does allow the phone info to be shown and the buttons to scroll through through it, it also allows you to go into settings and change way more than my maxidot. Don't know if that helps or hinders you mate. Just trying to help thats all.
  8. There are 2 maxidots. My pfl has a white maxidot but does not support the steering wheel controls on the screen for radio station/telephone etc, nor changing lots of options as mentioned above. In essence it has a 3 part screen - a small part at the top with a line below, the main part with a line below and then a small part at the bottom that shows mileage. The other version (more modern) has a 4 part screen - with 2 small parts at the bottom instead of one. This is the one that support the MFSW allowing the radio and telephone stuff to be displayed on the main part of the screen. It will make sense if you see them side by side. Older one; http://mr-fix.info/skoda-octavia-ii-reset-service-reminder-indicator/ Newer one; https://www.google.com/search?q=skoda+octavia+vrs+binnacle&client=firefox-b-d&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj7uJGWhdTnAhUzpHEKHc_yD5IQ_AUoAXoECAwQAw&biw=1366&bih=654#imgrc=Iaqpc2Vp610H7M
  9. They should have the program (or what ever they are called) saved so give them a ring. I gave it a sand and painted it myself as their paint wasn't brilliant! https://www.lockandcode.co.uk/home should bring up WSM I'm pretty sure they talk about 3d printing on their website as they make props for the escape rooms. Give them a bell, they should be able to help.
  10. Don't wait for the service, order one from the stealer and do it ASAP, mine had started to have a circle imprint on the face - caught it just in time!
  11. I ended up getting a local 3d printer to make some for me as I don't think you can get blanks. I think there is a guide on here where one of the guys took the paddles apart and filled the base with resin and made his own!
  12. I think the footrest needs to be removed. Also I don't know if you have removed the sides before but they are held on with screws, as shown, and some (usually) very strong velcro (the square near the back end). They are also stiff plastic covered by cloth be careful if you pull outward too hard it can snap. Hopefully this may help.
  13. I'm not sure if there is that much slack in the cable TBH, the connector is pretty simple just a simple press and wiggle it loose. The detentes are inside but make sure you remove the fuse or disconnect the battery before trying to get it out. 🙂
  14. See the clips under the cup holders that holds one side of the connector from the socket. You can just make out the small flat in the socket hole which lines up the grren surround IIRC
  15. If you have the same layout as my 06 Vrs, the wiring does go backwards to a connector held by plastic clips which are part of the console itself (approx 4" back from the socket itself). If you pull the side carpet back (strong velcro) It should give you some more room - not much but maybe just enough - to get your hand in and unclip the connector, only one bit is held in by the clips so the socket connector should be the bit that comes free! To get the socket out there are 2 small detentes inside that need to be pressed outwards whilst the socket is turned it should then come up and out, then the green surrond will also come out. Hope that helps.
