Hi all I've noticed today that i was getting loud noise from the exhaust on inspection the exhaust pipe is coming away from the back of the Cat due to corrosion can anybody advise on what is required & how much it will cost to replace please? also if anybody knows someone in the west yorkshire area that could do it that would be interesting Mk1 1.9tdi 53plate Cheers Steve

Received 2nd remote from seller - again no problems also received some emblems and found it harder to get the worn emblem off the back of the remote (without stabbing /slicing/severing something that i'm sure i'd miss) - than the whole remote reprogram process Steve

Nope but you can get the emblems seperate - see HERE Use the new 3 button remote half - with your old half with the key and immobiliser chip in TBH my actual key's weren't the problem just the remote pad - so i havent needed to reprogram a new immobiliser chip(which i think can only be done thru vagcom) or get a new key cust I did wonder whether its possible to move the immobiliser chip itself into a new 'case' - but i hear that they are very fragile and usually glued into the cases when manufactured, and once broken they are useless and you have no choice but get a new one and reprogram it Steve

Success! Remote arrived this morning and following Bowders instructions - i can CONFIRM it works! the only thing that didnt happen as per Bowders instructions - was the Horn sounding on step 3 but other than that - spot on and the boot button does indeed unlock the boot INDEPENDENTLY of the doors - does take a bit more than a quick press and as soon as you close the boot - car automatically locks it! Thanks to Everybody who has helped Now i know it works I'm going to order another 3 button remote now to replace my remaining 2 button Steve

Hi I'm needing to replace a dead 2 button HLO 1J0 959 753 AG remote on my 53 plate octy 1 elegance i've found a 3 button remote HLO 1JO 959 753 DA on ebay HERE will the 3rd button (boot) on the new remote work on my octy? ie will it unlock the boot independently of the rest of the doors? is it as easy to re program as the videos in his link make it look? i'd use the transponder and flip key bit from my non working remote - so immobiliser wont be a problem Cheers Steve PS sorry i realise there are other Remote & fob threads on here - but i couldnt find anything that specifically answered my above question

Hi all looking at buying one of the genuine VW retro fit cruise kits to put on my mk1 tdi octy 53 plate seen the kit on ebay for about 85 quid delivered (new & all loom and instructions included) my questions would be 1/ are these ebay kits any good - anybody know? 2/ is there anybody in the west yorkshire area that would be able to fit it and vagcom activate it for me? ok had a nosey at a few audio sites - alpine clarion pioneer jvc - at the compat's for my model then been down to halfords today for a look & listen at what they had am liking the sound of the alpine sxe1725s & sxe1325s to go in the front doors and rear side shelf anybody got opinions or reviews on these ?

mine has the exposed arm - really strange the jets tho - there's deffo a 'silver ball' in the bottom of the fitting which i'm assuming is a jet cant see any other reason for it being there otherwise

Hi all my rear wiper on 2003 octy elegance has a part attached to wiper arm with 2 jets facing upwards to screen and 1 jet facing down towards the hatch(when arm in parked position) the 2 upper jets are working fine - however the lower jet nozzle 'appears' to have swivelled in the housing so that the actual hole is not visible. i can't get any kind of grip on it to try and swivel it back round Anybody help? on the part when you remove from the supply hose and the wiper arm - you can see what i assume is a part no 110.793 however i cant find this listed anywhere on the net to poss order a new one cheers Steve

had a knocking from front end suspension on my octy 1 elegance 53 plate had a look underneath - grabbed the anti roll bar and i can move it enough by hand to make it knock is that all my problem is new bushes - or do u think it could be something more ? car drives fine - no wander or anything - anti roll bar itself appears fine car ride comfort is fine cheers for any help i'm not far from an ex skoda dealer who could prob do the job for me - not sure how much they will charge tho whilst i'm at it one of my keyfob remotes has packed up completely (changing battery does nothing) light doesnt flash or anything on remote - is it completely shot or can it be fixed ? can i buy one of the ones of off ebay and get it programmed up as i understand they are quite expensive new from dealers cheers again Steve
