New codes 2004 VRS AUQ
Thank you for the reply. Gonna do a few searches on those part numbers to try source some parts. Just got back from the tyres and they (national tyres) refused to do the tracking because its a lowered car. So booked it into a performance specialist for Monday to do the alignment. They also said i need to changed the 2 front wheel bearing as they are on their on the way out so is it worth doing them first before i do the alignment? Not sure on that one. Also been advised to change a drive shaft seal as its leaking oil and a ball joint as the boot has split. Need to get a look again when i get a set of ramps. Plus there usual oil leaks.

New codes 2004 VRS AUQ
Just another wee update on the car. Changed all the abs sensors today front to back and still have brake pedal kick-back intermittently on braking just before a full stop. The pedal only kicks back at 1-2mph weird one. Anyway the kill count for the job was 3 disc retaining screws and 2 abs sensor bolts. What is the opinion on running without the disc retaining screws and does anyone know the size of the abs sensor bolts as I’m going to need to drill the broken ends out and replace them. Next wee job for the car is to replace the n.s.f window tint as its peeling away, replace the driver side rear window regulator and find a wee screw that will hold the door locking barrel in place. When i replaced the Bowden cable a few weeks ago the bloody screw fell into the door itself and try as i may i cannot recover the screw. Any suggestions for the wee screw would be much appreciated. And tomorrow its going into national tyre and auto care in Plymouth via Tyre shopper online for 4 new Avon Z7 tyres and tracking. Went for a different size to the one on the car now. Currently running 205/50/17 93W going for 225/40/17 94W

New codes 2004 VRS AUQ
Well gave Skoda a call this morning to be told that they can’t sell the hose separate from the rest of the vacuum system and i need to buy the whole set of pipes...... £181!!!!!!!!!! Well the temp repair i done will need to last till i either find a car that’s being broke for the part or i can find the time and space to do the delete myself. If anyone knows of any AUQ engine thats being broken, or has a TPS account and can get a better price for me than £181 then I’ll sort them out for the money and postage etc.

New codes 2004 VRS AUQ
Cheers I’ll give them a wee call tomorrow and see what the price is. If its too much then off with the whole system at some point. Fingers crossed as they say. I only need the small hose that goes from the DV to the combi unit so here’s hoping they can sell that separate from the whole system.

New codes 2004 VRS AUQ
Managed to do a wee temporary repair by using a 6mm plastic connector and squeezing it onto the new 5mm vacuum hose. I used the original broken hose and shortened it to fit the combi unit in the original way and then using metal clips to secure it at all the connecting areas. Will speak to Murray Skoda in Plymouth tomorrow order a new hose. I was going to delete the n249 n112 and sai systems but at the moment i need my car as on call for work. If anyone can find out the part number for the hose that goes from the top of the DV to the combi unit that would be great as it would save me trying to explain the part over the phone.

New codes 2004 VRS AUQ
Just a small update. I reset the codes and drove the car. Within 20 miles the same 2 codes came up again: 17608 turbocharger recir valve mechanical malfunction 16795 sec air in system incorrect air flow now i had a look to see if there was a split pipe and low and behold there is. The little pipe from the top of the DV to the Combi valve has split big time and needs replaced. I was going to delete the system anyway but i need the car back ASAP. And i dont want to drive the car with no vacuum hose connected to the top of the DV. I went to Halfords and bought 3.2mm vacuum hose and 5.0mm vacuum hose and neither fit over the combi valve. Can anyone tell me the part number for the little hose that connects the DV to the combi? Or what thickness hose i could use to go over the combi valve? My issue is that if i buy a 8mm inner diameter hose to go over the combi then it’ll be too big to be properly secured on the DV which is approx 4mm Many thanks in advance

New codes 2004 VRS AUQ
Sorry if this has been covered before but got a few new codes on the reader last night and have a few questions needing answers too if you could help. 16795 sec air in system incorrect air flow 17608 turbocharger recir valve mechanical malfunction 16804 catalyst system banking efficiency below threshold now my theory on these is that if i delete the SAI N112 and N249 this should clear up the codes and make the car drive better. Would this be the case? Also IF i did decide to do these what components would i need to complete the deletes? I know about the SAI resistor and blanking plate but for the N112/N249 deletes would it just be running a new boost pipes to the intake? I have read BOWDERS write up on the deletes etc and wish to know if its easy enough OR if anyone who has done these deletes before and has VAGCOM would like to pop down to Plymouth and they will be rewarded for the trouble.

Driver's door lock

Driver's door lock
Sorry to jump into an old thread but needs must. i had to replace the Bowden cable on the driver door and everything was working cool till i took the door lock cylinder screw out all the way out to remove the door lock itself and i dropped the screw into the door. Now the door lock is insecure. Is there anyway to retrieve the screw or can i buy a replacement screw from anywhere and if so is it a PITA to put back in? cheers lads and lassies

Looking for a MK1 vRS!
I am keeping a wee look out for a garage or unit to store the car but I’m just not sure. It’s just too expensive where i live especially for something thats a decent size to be able to work on the car etc. But we’ll see what comes about. I’ve been reading about mods and extras for the car and its still giving me food for thought. So we’ll wait and see what happens. But I wouldn’t refuse a decent offer for it.

Looking for a MK1 vRS!
Still got the car and having a blast with it but looking at a mk2 LE VRS for sale. No110. Had a few issues with the car recently too with the bowden cable in the driver door snapping and an abs sensor. Just niggly wee things but my health has taken a hit. So maybe a wee change to come but if not I'm more than happy to keep the mk1. I was going to take the car off the road last march to forge the engine and do a 2.0t 20v conversion but lost job due to the virus and needed to keep hold of the money put by for the conversion. Then I caught the virus myself and have suffered the long term effects. So only just got back to work recently but only part time so my savings have had to keep me afloat for rent etc.
