vrsphil is... but ill have to look around for it really then
the only problem is that it came through clear from skoda garage itself couple of weeks ago after they replaced all the turbo hoses etc... just said it was a bit lumpy (due to remap) but they didnt report anything like this... would a normal garage such as VW or skoda b able to veg com it?
-
to be honest i dont have a clue what vag com is...
noob i know
-
ok. say im drivin my octy, everything seems fin, full power etc... then say if i slow at a junction or anything and begin to accelerate again, its as if its gone into limp mode... no turbo just like a normal 1.8 engine. turn the car off then back on its back to normal. then a while later, same problem.
ive recently replaced the MAF myself thinkin this may be the problem. but the problem is still here..
im wondering is it the map? i know the guy i bought it off had it remapped and he said that the remap doesnt always run right. sometimes its runnin at the power of the map and sometimes it isnt.
would a re remap do the trick?
-
some fit women though...
-
car looks like an evo...
yellow ftw!
-
fibreglassing up the back?
how would u do that?
-
dimensions would be great!
-
so when ppl say 'when vtec kicks in' its not really kicking in is it... because its always kicked in.... just not as powerful... where as a turbo does kick in...
-
correct me if i'm wrong but there is no v-tech kicking in anywhere on a honda civic... isnt the v-tech the whole engine itself? or at least a variable valve timing? cuz the way ppl use it, is as if its a turbo/supercharger type thing.
-
I'm afraid i am no chav my fellow chap. However on the contrary, I do use the correct English in when i do SMS on my cellular phone.
-
Chav's are well aware of the vRS and it's potential. C'mon most of them have probably been chased by them and caught.
 oh m8 the 5-0 nicked me in my uninsured saxo vtr...
im only 20 and ive got a fully insured vrs all paid for by me
however ull rarely see me cruising... too busy workin!

another update...
wasnt the maf so skoda said.... a turbo hose collapsed into itself due to the bigger turbo suckin in more air? it never got upgraded so theyve put a modified hose in now...
ill pick it up tomorro and find out.
out of interest, are mafs easily installed? im a noob and wouldnt have a clue!

Hahahaha, another type r thread. A type R will always have you off the line. If your already moving and then catch them out of VTEC then you will pull away a little, then it'll be up your chuff unless you've got a VT2 or garrett
lol at get them out of vtec....
so the engine pops out?
-
ignore....

i'm not gunna fit it or pay for it. insurance is. takin it 2morro morning and gettin a courtesy car even thought ive told them the problem! gunna plug it back in before i drop it off so they can see for themselves its nackered.
prob get a crap honda jazz or something :(
ovewr bank holiday too!

is it safe to drive the car around without the maf?
and do ur recon the remap might have been touched with all the repair? just doesnt seem as fast as it was before the accident.
-
honda lancaster
update.
took it to garage. told them it was the maf. so all they did was replug it in and reset the engine...
was fine for driving away from the garage but when i parked up and went back a couple of hours, it happened again. i'm going to have to ring garage up AGAIN! and tell them to replace it for me on saturday. they r friendly enough and full of praise for the car. even told me where to be careful and watch for police mobile camers when i tested it on bypass.
Sigh!!!!
oh and i did give briskoda the thumbs up!!!
-
well all i can say is a big thank you for your time and knowledge!
Thank You

i will be passing on the message. cant tell u how happy i am.

ok, so i took it to a garage (my mates) and he had a diagnostic computer. so we messed about. 2 codes came up so we cleared them and it ran fine for when we tested it.... until of course sods law kicked in and it happened on my way home.... basically when i was at home. so ****in annoyin!
