  6. How will the master cylinder affect 2nd gear selection?!
  7. Hi, 2nd gear has become difficult to engage first thing in the morning. It doesnt crunch or grind but feels stiff then snatches the gear. It engages perfectly when the box warms up. I recently changed the gearbox oil (@92k) with genuine VAG fluid ordered against my VIN. Any ideas what it could be and how to solve it? Thanks Mat
  8. Hi, I recently picked up a Fabia VRS sump guard. I'm a little puzzeled to how the brace bar located on the right hand side. It appears as if it wants to sit behind the boost pipe but i cant because 1 its too short and 2 its would tear though the boost pipe. Brace bar, closest bracket is the LH, its laid out how i think it should sit. RH location point Could anyone tell me how it should fit?! Many thanks Mat
  9. I'm interested, beware there is another guy working on a sump guard as we speak, if you do a quick search i'm sure you will find the thread.

  11. Hi, I have a 2005 Fabia VRS with 87k (80% motorway miles), It has full service history by my self, serviced every 10k (works out to be every 5 months). Recently the engine has developed a strange noise, its not metalic or from the driveline, it sort of sounds like an extended exhaling moan, its hard to describe. The noise is can be heard between 1250-2000rpm when comming off the throttle at low speeds, but can also be heard when crusing at motorways speeds under acceleration in 6th. I'm a little baffled to whats causing it, I shall try and take a video tomorrow. Has anyone else had this issue or have any ideas to the probable cause? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mat
  12. So a good clean and a 'PCV elephant hose mod' will sort it out?
  13. Hi, I have had a little search and found some useful information regarding my problem but Im still unsure! Can anyone help me out, my boost pipe out the intercooler (FR wheel arch) has a layer of oil covering it, i followed the pipe up and disconnected it further up the system and found: Appologies for the poor quality. I am very concerned at the level of oil in the pipe work, is this excessive? It may be worth a mention but my MPG has dropped by 15mpg over the past 2months - 4000miles. I drive 75% motorway 25% A/B roads. The engine is consuming oil at the normal rate. Thanks Mat
  14. Warren you looooooooooooooooooooooser!! My pictures are soooo much better! haha
  15. Fabia VRS parts: Remaps KW V2's or V3's RARB Any of the above!!
  16. Hi, Has or is anyone suffereing from their rear screen delaminating from the tailgate? There is an adhesive read through mark all the way around the glass.(looks like a snail trail). My local Skoda Dealer said its out of warranty and wouldnt cover it but did say ring Skoda direct, which i plan to do after i get some background information. I believe it is a warranty issue as glass isnt a wear and tear item and it is the original screen fitted at the factory. Clearly the glass or tailgate hasnt been prepd and primered to process causing the screen to delaminate and witness. Has anyone been able get Skoda to replace the glass? The car is on 50k 2005
  17. I got my conti's from Kwik Fit when they had the 25% off 4 came to £380 i think. My last set of contis covered 45k
  18. I would be tempted to get both done Lupo & Fabia
  19. Problem now identified. The joint was on its way out prior to me changing the boot. When i took the ball bearings out of the housing i removed all the balls in one go BIG MISTAKE, not taking into account which one came from where. They are now not housed in there original homes. The noise has been increased due the wear on each of the ball bearing homes not corresponding to the ball bearing which 'wore' it in. It makes sense so im off to TPS to pick up a new outer joint! Job done, Thanks
  20. Hi, I recently changed the front LH outer CV boot on the VRS as the inner otiker clip had popped off causing a small amount of grease to spill out (teaspoon full). There was a slight knocking noise when turning right through a certain angle which i thought was the boot & clip flapping around, the noise is still there but im unsure to what it could be. 80% of the old grease removed and replaced with the genuine grease in the kit. The joint and balls where briefly inspected, nothing stood out. The car is 2005 and has covered 48k all motorway. Any ideas e.g. bushes i should look at? Thanks, Mat
