    Hmmm....

    Any other suggestions peeps?

Edit: Just noticed myspace is down for maintenance  doesn't help me explain what I'm after...

  2. Just had an identical suggestion elsewhere...

Now I remember why I didn't use putfile... It hosts the video, but doesn't allow direct streaming of the video, it only allows you to put a link to putfile.com and therefore said video...

I'm really after a "direct link" style site if that makes sense.... An example might be my myspace page... (www.myspace,com/theoriginalbrowny) The skateboard and music videos are "direct linked" and immediately show. Not sure if this is possible though?

Edit: just realised... the myspace page might not be work safe, due to some "coarse language" which won't be filtered... my immediate apologies... didn't mean to offend

  3. Saw this a while ago - yes, looks just like a 350Z. But - allegedly - it's a better engine to tune (but I could be wrong).

Oh, and Newara Imports look to be the "expensive" end of Jap imports, i.e you get what you pay for. There are a lot of cheaper new Skylines around, e.g. car-ex japan for starters.

  4. My terminal speed was around 95 mph on my 15.5 run... so for a sub-15 second run I'd expect it to be more?

(Brain definately isn't running at 100% at the mo...)

Edit: re. the weight thing. If the weight is 1354, then my mate's rx7 should be lighter. Using the calculator mentioned above, that would make his 400bhp rice-mobile a sub-12 second 1/4 mile beast? Now I know he drives slowly ;) but I reckon I'd be hard pushed to get his car into the high 12's, TBH.

  5. Andy vRS - did see a few Volvos, yes - including a new(ish) black C70 (I think) from Chip Tuning/Performance... From what I can remember they were running 14's, occassionally ducking into the high 13's.

Yeah, got 3 go's without pushing it too much, a mate got 5. Max wait was about 10 minutes, which is nothing really.

Bengie - it's well worth it. The only pressure you're under is from yourself, it's a good laugh especially if you go along with some like-minded friends, and there's a nice relaxed atmosphere.

  6. After messing around for the entire summer, drinking too heavily on Saturday nights :rotz: :tired:  :zombie: :pimp: , finally got round to taking my car over 70 mph legally :D at Shakespeare Raceway near Stratford.

    Had 3 runs - started with a 15.6 (against an Integra Type-R), then a 15.7 (against a mate in an rx7)....

Final run was up against a lovely 12-second Skyline  . Started nicely, then noticed I hadn't turned off the ASP (sp? can never remember...) or air-con.... So chuffin' annoyed, my 2nd to 3rd change was very half-@r$ed indeed.... and ended up with a 15.5 :o . Very strange.

All this, in an Octy vRS with 210bhp and the world's heaviest parcel shelf on the back seats (because my mate didn't want to weigh down his rx7 - reckon it cost me at least 3 seconds per run  )

Very nice day, good weather, excellent experience, and will be there again in 2 weeks time to try and improve.

  7. what car do you have? an octavia vRS?

D'oh! Forgot about that... Yes - a red one  with CAI and Milltek rear section exhaust...

The blokes on the rollers looked a bit sheepish once 400bhp came up - as far as we know it was the second most powerful there (after a 420bhp+ Holden - so want one  ) - especially considering it produced more than any of the Scooby's there (including the race-specced ones!)

  8. Went to Powerstation near Tewkesbury for an open day rolling road session on Saturday... Managed to get 208bhp, which means that before I had the car someone had Superchipped it :) which is quite nice...

Unfortunately, my mate put his recently imported and quite cheap 3rd gen twin turbo unknown spec RX-7 on the rollers, and got 402.4bhp  which we were all quite amazed and pleased at.

Good bunch of blokes there too, friendly, quite large workshop too (not surprising given that Litchfield Imports are right next door  )

(Which means I shall be selling my car to upgrade, so I shall post another thread in a while with piccys and stuff.)

  9. Trouble with imports is that you don't know the history' date='so if it's been thrashed to death, it's your problem. I know someone who bought an imported Mitsubishi FTO, and it cost her 3K for a new engine after 6 months......

    Phil[/quote']

Admittedly though, same goes over here if you're out of warranty on a car - anything can go wrong at anytime. You pays your money, you takes your chances... Best to take it to a specialist to get it checked over - the money you save from importing it would easily cover this.
