First thing i would look to do it change the glow plugs, very simple a cheap to do and fingers crossed would fix your problem, if not then you have 4 new glow plugs The window dropping is a fairly common fault and there are a few threads on here about repairing it, i will link one if i can find it

Haven t you heard? on the latest stripped out barely road legal porches that weight less than a postage stamp are having drum brakes all round

Even driven 'normally' the standard VRS brakes are shocking, go to a place like milton keynes where its all short straights and roundabouts and you will see what i mean. Yes if you cant read the road and you stamp on them everytime then you will get face, i found that any 'lively' use and they were awful. 312's upfront have stopped the issue and means you can give it some stick if you so wish

Unit 18 in MK

Its only ever filled up at a BP behind the mrs house. the engine is totally smooth now but shakes from time to time, i do have a price on the work done but they wont help you as we didn't pay much labour for certain reasons

Got the car back and its 90% better than it was. Still a slight vibration which we are going to take another look at

The VRS is a boat as standard, sits way to high up. Lower it and put a RARB on it, map it for more poke and job done

shell of BP but get some of the fuel cleaners that you tip into the tank

Run some fuel cleaner through it as well

Ali has been working on the car between jobs to keep the costs down and fault find on it, he was putting it back together and road testing it today so its probably going to be ready tomorrow

My mrs was the same for months, some days it wouldn't do it all, then is started doing it every now and then. It finally got the point where on idle the engine was shaking itself to bits. Offer is always there matey, if you go to unit and need a lift anywhere PM me as im always in MK

unless that one with the pipe off is yours.... then that's exactly how ours was but sounds worse

Ash your video is nothing like what our car was doing,. That video of the one with the rough idle is the same as ours but a lot worse.

Car is all back together and being road tested today, i will report back once i get it back

Give Unit 18 a ring, they replaced my clutch with a LUK (i think) and mapped it

Still waiting for it to be ready for collection (there is other work being done at the same time) This car was intermittent until it got much worse

What is really strange is the engine on our didnt tap and sound sweet as a nut other than is shaking

I cant believe the cam has no damage either but ive seen it and it looks spot on, im wondering id someone replaced the cam at some point to try and resolve the issue. Hopefully it will fix it 100% The shaking was there all the time, tick over was fine but engine literally shook itself to bits lol. 90% sure the uprated 'black' followers will be fitted. That list i posted a bit further up is everything that has been damaged by the engine shaking to badly but each time it was suspected to be that item causing it,

The symptoms were the engine shaking REALLY badly since the day we bought it. over the last 18 months we have had to replaced numerous bit in the engine as we thought that was the cause of the shaking... these included New flywheel (needed clutch anyway) Engine mounts Injector loom Injectors stripped and tested Cambelt and water pump (needed doing anyway) All of these except the belt had signs of damage due to engine shake but we though each time that replacing the part would sort it. Few weeks ago the shaking started to get so severe that sitting at idle in traffic will almost shake you in your seat and if you are holding a cup of coffee you can see it shake in your hand. We took it to Unit18 and i have to say yet again Ali has been amazing, we left the car with him to inspect and work on between jobs, after stripping to engine to bits hes found that the buckets look like they have been getting very hot and are showing signs of damage. Getting fixed as we speak

Yeh its in at unit18 as we speak, went in for cambelt and water pump + inspection into the idle problem. Now its found they are going to crack on with it.

Its a 07 plate, its just ticked over 100k. Its got a full service history
