  1. Sold. Sold. Sold Make & Model: SKODA SUPERB (3V) LAURIN AND KLEMENT TSI DSG 2016
  2. Just fitted a flat-bottomed alcantara steering wheel to my L&K wagon. Ordered from local skoda dealer. Total steal at ~£260. Surprised that buttons came included. Disconnected battery. Figured out how to pop out the airbag with screwdriver. Disconnect wiring loom and button loom. Used torx head and took old wheel off. I also ended up removing horn fuse under the bonnet. Night and day difference. Feels amazing and sporty. One of my best mods so far. Dash lit up with many errors after battery reconnected and started. But these all clear after a short drive.
  3. Yes I have a 22mm Superpro version fitted - transforms the turn in. You won't need it in a diesel though Just kidding.....
  4. Looks great - what kind of money were the boxes each - I have looked at these on their site - a full system was fairly pricey. I am running an APR downpipes - so wanted to get something that sounded a bit more meaty. Be interesting to hear what its like under acceleration. Need a go pro stuck on the car.....
  5. I have a 22mm superpro arb fitted. Transformed the turn in.
  6. You can get Tshirts and stickers here - https://ctrlandshift.com/collections/ctrl-shift?page=2 Joe Achilles channel - Must get one of these stickers to put on the offside rear:
  7. Well for the power mine is developing it’s worth every penny. “I pity the fuel” 🤣
  8. Im getting an average of 26mpg Life is too short to worry about fuel economy.
  9. looking at the catalog - note I have a 280 - its this set that I would need:
  10. I have a set of Eibach pro springs fitted - has transformed the car - I also have DCC of course. Skoda kindly replaced my front shocks under warranty earlier this year - so they are hardly run in. The Eibach's together with my Superpro sway has transformed the handling & turn in. Stance is also perfect. How it should be for such a large motor! I will consider these B6's - but as you say...will go into next years budget - I've spent enough this year on mods!!
  11. Here are the sizes: 280/272 models... F) 340mm x 30mm (vented) R) 310mm x 22mm (vented) All the rest... F) 312mm x 25mm (vented) R) 300mm x 12mm (solid) I have upgraded rears - sourced from here - I would not trust fleebay sellers. VBT are part of Awesome GTI. https://www.vagbremtechnic.com/direct-replacement-j-hooked-or-grooved-discs-click-for-options-drd-go7/ I am running the 'J Hooked 310x22mm Rear Brake Discs (1K31022-GA)' - with Ferodo pads. FG
  12. I am getting a removable swan neck towbar fitted in October - do I need to consider anything for my Virtual pedal? I have been using it all the time now and its handy coming back to the car with my hands full etc. I guess there are sensors on the rear bumper valance - do I need to advise my fitter of this or what is the process. FG
  13. My infotainment system is a 2016 model - its is not the face-lifted version. Recently my iPhone will connect via Bluetooth fine. When a call comes in - its tending to freeze - the Answer option comes up on the display and on the dash - then sits there and is frozen. I then cannot turn off the info unit or anything. It will only reset once the car is powered on and off. Well annoying. I dont believe there are any firmware updates available?? I dont really want to have to go to a Stealer to try and diagnose. Any advice most welcome!! FG
  14. My last car was a Golf R 7.5 estate - NO DCC. I owned this for 2 years on a lease - got it for bargain money! This was stock and the only option I had was the colour - Lapiz Blue.. Anyway to get to the point - the 7.5 was a big step up from the Mk7 - it was the 310bhp version before they detuned the latest and final versions. Things I liked with Golf: Looks - colour - brake callipers - 2 exhausts at each side - DSG rasp (fart) Handling - I had standard springs - and it was noticeable stiffer than my current superb 7 speed DSG (Superb DQ250 is only 6 speed) - refined on motorway cruise Virtual cockpit display - was new in 7.5 Things not so good in Golf: Attention - too many people trying to race me - plus there was too many R's around - with lease deals they are everywhere! Space - have teenage daughter - I am 6,2 - definitely limited space for rear with my seat back Lack of toys - no heated screen (from above I dont even think this was an option on Golf R) my superb has Virtual pedal, curtain airbags in rear plus the moving headlights (whatever you call them). Seats - they improved over the MK7 - they were nice to sit in - but pretty dull looking - Nappa leather was an expensive option. A full spec'd R was stupid money As for my 280 L&K Estate Same EA888 Gen 3 - I have DCC and I now drive it everywhere in Individual with DCC set to Sport - steering set to sport too. I love my L&K leather seats - heated and cooled - have rear heated seats too Kids love sitting in the rear - TONS of space Added pedal box to sort throttle response. Wish I had a 7 speed DSG - but the 280 is actually a more tuneable motor! Only option I dont have on mine is the pano-roof - always wanted one I have some mods in the pipe to make my 280 handle and perform more like my Golf - that way I've the best of both worlds. On the towing topic - the MK7.5 estate DID actually come with a towbar prep option - later in their life - that was also a consideration for me - as Ive trailer tent which my wifes car has to haul currently.
  15. I had a Golf R estate previous to my Superb 280 - it was a 7.5 too which had the revised exhaust - as the MK7 Golf estate had fake bits on twin pipes for each side. I do wonder why my superb exhaust note is so tame compared - I used to get DSG farts in my golf - granted it used to push some fake engine noises into the cabin - but I am sure the golfs exhaust was louder?? When pushed in Sport - my 280 will blip on a downshift - but you have to be pushing on. FG
  16. Fitted set of Thule wingback edge black today - to add to the sleeper look! 😬
  17. Looks lovely - do you mind me asking where you sourced it from and the cost? My L&K has a round steering wheels - I'd like to change for the Sportsline with the paddles. FG
  18. I like this - I think this is the route ill take - get a sportsline gloss black grill and surround like this - no disrespect but I am not enamoured with the look of the honeycomb grill - mainly due to aesthetics and how you can see all the internals as discussed. I have more chrome on my front bumper ill have to sort too!! Might be going for a full de-chrome at some stage tbh..... FG
  19. Yes my mechanic said this too - I am planning to lower with Eibach Pro - asked him about the adjustable end links - he said he has had several fail and snap - the stock plastic endlinks are fine - in his view - unless you are going to slam the car - there is no need for adjustable end links.
  20. Yes realise that. Thanks. The only issue is I’ve the L&K chrome surround and it seems you only get the main honeycomb bit and not the edge in gloss black. Superskoda don’t appear to sell the edge in gloss black separately. They have it in a dual colour; red and black. Just undecided and wanted to see other pics with cars having it fitted.
  21. Does anyone have pics they can share of this Honeycomb grill fitted to their Superb?
  22. I am getting a SuperPro sway bar fitted shortly too - my mechanic said the SuperPro version comes in 22mm or 24mm - this is for the rear only. He asked what my style of driving is - but I am inclined to go for the 24mm option - as I feel its a big motor and most of the people who have the H&R version for 24mm - let me know what you guys think? FG
  23. I am fitting a set of these - J hooked and some performance pads - note mine are the 310mm rears for the 280: https://www.vagbremtechnic.com/direct-replacement-j-hooked-or-grooved-discs-click-for-options-drd-go7/
  24. I have mine replaced under warranty - I have DCC - I had my 'VAG specialist' check over the car and he reported that front shocks were leaking but that was 'normal'!! Ive since found a different garage.... Anyway my main warranty had run out - but the dealer I bought from had given me another years extended - I claimed at Skoda Aldershot - surprisingly they approved and I have a fresh new set fitted to the car. Agreed it should not happen. Parts were £567 excluding labour. List price of shocks is 258.75 excl VAT (3Q0413031AK). My warranty has now all run out. If you have to pay for a replacement I would consider Bilstein B6 as an OEM+ replacement. FG
  25. Thanks for all the details - my Wagon is booked in for work in early August - and Eibach pro is on the list - my mechanic seems to know his stuff - but will remind him of the correct part numbers - so I don't get the incorrect rear spring. I like the idea of the Audi top mounts too - might go down this route too - relatively inexpensive. I will have times when the whole family is loaded - so will want the extra few MM on the rear. FG
