  1. I took my car for a service yesterday and asked for the price of timing belt, water pump, tensioner etc because my car is 4 years old in march. They said all in for 400 but they had a bulletin updating the interval to 5 years instead of 4. They entered my reg on the system and it brought up when everything was due for a service/change and the timing belt was 5 years or 140, 000 miles or km (can't remember which). Anyway needless to say I was very pleased. :-D

  2. Not quite the same bur a mate had a pug 307 1.6 and stuck the type r badge from a cuvic on the boot. He thought it was the dogs doodahs, but In reality it looked daft. As said above though, it's your car and as Cheryl Crow would say "if it makes you happy, it can't be that bad"

  3. I did a search and found nothing but I was hoping somebody knows how to get cooling a/c air flow through the under seat vents for the rear passengers? I ask because we're off on our family holiday so I'd like the kids to feel the benefit of these to cool them, rather than having the windows down at motorway speeds (very noisy).

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Does aanyone know if the dash controls havento be set on a certain setting to utilise the under seat vents???

    TIA

    Ian.

  4. It was constructive. Many people believe those who have "burn ups" at the lights are idiots or bell ends. Jigger is clearly one of those. I personally think it is a bit immature. I thought it was cool up to the age of 22 though so it is forgivable providing you are in a certain age group.

  5. I've been quoted £50 a corner for 205/45/16 landsail ls388 tyres. Has anybody had any experience with landsail tyres? The price is keen as it includes 4 tyres, fitting, new valves and balancing for £199.

Seems very cheap and some bloke on amazon is selling some 17 Inch ls388's and quotes they have a fuel efficiency rating C, wet grip rating C, and noise level of 71 or 72db (I can't remember which)

Does anyone have any opinions or experience of these tyres???

  6. A quick question about tyres. I have a 11-plate 1.6 tdi 105 elegance estate with 205, 45, 16's. 2 of my tyres are rated as 83w, and 2 are 87v. Does the difference matter or is there an acceptable range that the tyre can be.

E.G, is the car safe with tyres ranging from 75 - 90 and p-z or whatever in between. I made these numbers and letters up obviously lol

(Terms and Conditions are all there if that is what you paid for.)

Sorry to hear that, surprised you went and bought another car from them.

My 2 previous new skodas were bought from Claybank in Eccles. A 1.4 tdi and 1.2 tsi. After 1 year of the tsi I wanted a diesel again. The best priced and specced car I found was from Lightcliffe in Warrington do this was my 1st buying experience with them. NEVER AGAIN.

Anyway, to round off my 2 threads I finally got a refund from lightcliffe on monday, checked yesterday and the cash was in my bank. Visited Claybank and ten mins later I had paperwork naming 2 services and 1 mot. Also i was told due to my cars mileage I will recieve the brake fluid, fuel filter and air+pollen filters over the course of the plan and had my car booked in with them, inc a courtesy car, and my minor warranty niggles noted down to repair at the same time.

Ten minutes to do what Lightcliffe couldn't do in 5 weeks. Top marks Claybank :-)
