  1. Similar thing happened to my parents cooker hood. I just re soldered the tracks with wire. I believe the cause was grease off years of cooking which got into the light build which then blew and took out the circuit board. Been fine since
  2. I bet a change of pants was needed after that.
  3. Try collinite. That's what I use. It's cheap enough ( less than £20 ) and lasts for ages.
  4. I will be down on the Sunday as usual. Just need to get the kids to bed so I can go and finish off prepping the car and sort a few bits.
  5. I quite like the poor boys which I'm using at the mo. They do a couple, 1 with a touch more wax in it and 1 without. But the best thing is they do come in a handy refillable bottle which can be used for other products once empty.
  6. http://brakeparts.co.uk/#page=parts&pageSection=BHR&mancode=SKOD&brand=SKODA&model=OCTAVIA&modelversion=OCTA*(98-05)+1.8+20V+VRS+inc+TURBO+VIN%3A1U These should have what you need if the link works. I've never personally used them myself yet (need to soon tho) but I'm sure the guys on brisky have.
  7. I would just be looking for trim bits, dash vents and rear door mech so not a massive amount really. Where abouts are you located? You could try veedubs in Gateshead if you wanted to shift the whole car?
  8. Break it yourself. If your northeast I will have bits if they work. And you have plenty local northeast forums like vag cars, dub northeast etc.
  9. Mine is modified to the point where they tried to do the checks after changing coil packs and all it said was "too low to access ramps or anything" So I'm sure you'll be fine.
  10. If your funds allow get it modded. I have with mine as they are a 10year old car and don't really demand anymore money over an ordinary non wrc vrs. (If that makes sense) Saying that I could be wrong but just my 2p worth. Hope you enjoy the new car and this forum is a bad bad place for helping you spend money

    Hayfever

I'm also starting to suffer. I went 30 years without a sniffle or an itch but for the past 3 years I've been getting slightly worse each year. I have found the beconase works well for me and it reduces my snoring which pleases her, so I also have less bruises to the ribs off her elbows Has anyone tried any of the herbal (not those) remedies/old wives tales surrounding hay fever? I can see how local honey could possibly work, but not apples, chillies or red onions!

    Neverwet

I think mothercare should start selling this. Parents will know why....
  13. The limits of these guys keeps getting pushed higher and higher, and when you think you've seen all the tricks possible they find more. Awesome!!
  14. I just used something like this: http://bit.ly/12bjcIU Or if you have a hobbycraft store or art shop local to you, they should have similar
  15. Could you not just get some yellow bulb paint?? I did that with my mk3 golf fogs.
  16. Well I have had both makes although the uniroyals were on my vr6 and the falkens are on my octy vrs currently. I did find both tyres in question to be very good. The uniroyals did seem to wear slightly quicker as they are most likely a slightly softer compound but on two completely different cars so take it as a rough comparison. But I'm on my second set of falkens on the octy due to the price, grip and durability. At the end of the day you pays your money and takes your chances
  17. Yeh that is looking like a possiblity. There could even be 101 wrc models hehe
  18. David thanks very much that's great info there. So it looks like it could have been a press release car, I will be back onto skoda to find out what number mine is. I don't suppose your mate has a better number for contacting skoda on as the main customer service didn't really want to know.
  19. I'm sure it is a genuine wrc, just not sure if the number is correct. I was going to try a local dealer to see if they could help. And thanks for the help
  20. Yeh I bought it from him about 5 or so years ago. I have no hard evidence other than the say so of the dealer who told the first owner that it was number 34.
