  1. Well a change in work circumstances made me get the citigo and the fact I wouldn't need the diesel octavia as I wasn't going to be doing mega miles. So that worked perfect as its a good city hopper on a morning for me. Nippy with good mpg and we have been away in it a couple of times and the boot is big enough for a weekend trip for us and the 2 kids. The octavia vrs was always my toy but you will know when kids come along (3+5 now) that toys hit the back burner but it was a brilliant family car. Huge boot, reliable considering the mods, and rather fast but the mpg never really got over 32. The tax was £250 a year and modified insurance wasn't that cheap. But it did need more jobs doing to it as it got older hence getting the fabia estate. Don't get me wrong it is cheaper to run and the estate is a good size and will serve me well but I feel like I've lost a limb at times and there are a few things that I'm missing over the octavia. Little things like manual windows in the back which the kids love putting down (I think you'll know where I'm coming from). No lumbar adjustment on the drivers seat. No full size spare alloy wheel as standard. End of the day go and have a play with them at the dealers (the cars before anyone says different) and see what you think.
  2. I just chopped in my octy vrs before Xmas for a Monte Carlo estate black edition. The only thing that I find better is the peace of mind with the 3 years free servicing etc. the mpg I find poor. Was expecting a lot more although it may improve with miles or at least I hope so. I miss the extra 100+ bhp. Erm I'm not really selling it to you here am I haha. The heated seats are hotter so that's another positive note. I also traded in my trusty octy diesel work horse for a citigo black edition. All I will say is it's fun and choose to grab the keys for it every morning unless its minus temp outside then I will choose the bum warmers in the fabia and let the swmbo freeze If you want to know anything else please just ask!
  3. I have spoken to him and gave him the chance to own up. Which he denied but then knocked on my door half hour later saying it could be the bin wagon as they've been today. But the bin wagon is green and yellow. Think I'll let the police have a word now as I'm still a little wound up to be civil.
  4. No cctv unfortunately it's a quiet cul de sac. Police have been round and was told if I had any further info to let them know. I have one more photo to get in the morning of the said red car owners mothers car who he admitted hitting previously. But it's funny how the red paint on both my car and his mothers are a very good match.
  5. Well returned home today after seeing family (not in the citigo)to find this! Needless to say I was less than pleased. And was there a note on the car or through my door?? You guessed right NO. So i did a bit of detective work i.e only 2 red cars in the street. One hasn't moved in a few days and still has all paintwork intact. The other one..... Well I'll let the photo say the rest Both together The red car has recently been cleaned to my mind looking at the picture and the owner seemed very sheepish when he saw me looking at the damage. So what do you think?
  6. My new fabia had 6 miles on it. Don't think I'd have been happy with more than 20 miles on it max
  7. At least something good has come out of this... I know the best place to park where the camera points next time I'm down roker. Just incase there's a case of hit and run involving a wheelchair
  8. About the same as a regular vrs. But it all depends how much you want to pay
  9. I just bought and fitted these 2 weeks ago. Perfect colour match and fast delivery. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=281140544879
  10. I'm guessing you've already changed the oil pickup pipe/strainer in the sump?

    Black edition

I still have a tin of hammerite skoda green off the octavia's calipers. So tempted to paint them, think it would look good with the black wheels but the only thing putting me off is that I'm not sure about painted drums. The black looks good though.
  13. It's the external temperature sender for the mfa/climatronic. It fits on the bumper screw next the bottom grill iirc.
  14. Anyone tried stripper scent? (I could regret asking this) Heard it's ment to be quite nice

    Black edition

Well that's the only pic I managed to get tonight between the missus going to work and sorting the little devils (I mean darling children out)!! I need to resist the urge to modify it already though haha. But I think one modified skoda in the family is enough. The little citigo is me trying to be a little more sensible in my old age. Going to give it a good coat of wax at the weekend as the dealer detail has already left some very minor swirl marks in the paint. Just hope I don't regret getting a black car.
  17. Evening all just thought I'd pop over to the citigo section to say hi, as I'm now the owner of a nice new black edition! It's a bit of a change in size from the octavia but quiet fun. I'm even thinking about getting rid of my other octavia (yeh I had 2) for another citigo. Will try to get a pic of it on here later when I get a minute. Also other than a movable boot floor or a spare wheel what are other people using to stop heavier items falling into the spare wheel recess?
  18. Well I've got a family holiday planned soon and was looking for a cheap 2nd hand gopro for capturing a few videos on. Now cheap and gopro don't normally go together. So on my hunt I came across a very similar camera a sj4000 which is basically a copied gopro. Just wondering if anyone on here has one or has tried one?
  19. I was thinking that also when I saw it all intact. Well off to start dismantling
  20. Yes the vin shows it as a wrc but not the number. It's down as 34 as it was believed to be that til last year and just haven't altered it. I know the full history of the car including the original brisky member who bought it from the dealer, who told him it was number 34. Yeh it's the one in the pic. It was de decaled from the dealer I'm led to believe.
  21. I thought it was a bit suspicious when I found out. But after a lot of digging by some helpful people on brisky it is defo a wrc just unsure of the number
  22. From the quick look I had last night no. All looked intact.
  23. I'm not I own one Mines a wrc from the specs and other sources just missing the plaque. Led to believe mine had something to do with being a press release car.
  24. Well the trusty daily derv octavia left me stranded on the side of the road tonight. I came off the dual carriageway near where I live. Got to the roundabout at the top and as I pulled away from a standstill just about to take 2nd gear there was a loud 'clunk bang' noise and all drive was lost but engine still running. So got it back home via a tow. Popped the bonnet and got the missus to put it in first gear and run it so I could check if the drive shafts were turning. Only the n/s (passenger) side was turning. The other side from the gearbox was dead. So do you think I will be looking at a new diff/box rebuild or is it likely to be the inner cv joint that's gone? Anyone had or heard of a similar thing?
