  1. I saw it - just wasn't that funny. Nothing in the episode that you haven't seen before, either in the simpsons or the office.
  2. Oh, and apparently, the cause of the crash was a botched burnout-to-wheelie attempt, which ended in a tankslapper and the girl conked out on the floor. Silly tart
  3. Stolen from another forum but don't think it's been on here yet... The girl apparently borrowed the bike from someone else, didn't know how to ride it and binned it in spectacular style outside the Ace Cafe. I'd like to say I'm a decent human being and my first thoughts were for her welfare... But that'd be rubbish My first thoughts were "nice rack" shortly followed by "silly bint"
  4. There were two Capris that were seriously kitted out, one in yellow and one in brown and primer, they were both running V8s on nitrous, but I believe on was supercharged and one was turbo'd. When I was sat in the queue next to the yellow one, and he was revving his engine before the race, all of the trim in my car was rattling, including the bits that don't normally rattle from the sub in the boot! Damn it was loud. I really want a lairy V8
  5. I was the only vRS that I saw there, but I left at 2pm-ish. If it was me he saw, I would have been recongnisable from my number plate - it's ** JUT
  6. I have no complaints in regular driving, on the way there I was having a play with my mate in his Saph 4x4 and unless he got his revs over 5k, my car was putting up a pretty good effort. Never had any complaints with mid-range drivability or how competent the car is at overtaking, just would be nice to have a bit more go off the line. That's diesels for you I guess. Or my rubbish launch control. Or both.
  7. The case for owning a diesel methinks With my change of jobs and not using the car to commute, I can usually get a good few weeks out of a tank unless I have to make a journey to somewhere far far away And if they do have a blockade and everybody leaves their cars at home, I'm going to use the opportunity to go out and give my car a spanking whilst there's no traffic about
  8. Rip off London is the problem One of my locals has started charging £3.15 for a pint of San Miguel Yet this weekend I went to a club in Wellinborough, and drank many a pint of the same stuff for £2.70. You wouldn't get a pint of p*ss in a London club for £2.70! I seriously feel myself reverting to the old man pubs which haven't jumped on the bandwagon of seeing just how much they can take the mickey before they lose all their customers - because that's what most pubs around my way seem to be doing. And if you go to clubs around here, it's not uncommon to be relieved of £10 for a vodka redbull, if you're dumb enough to buy one in a club!
  9. So I went to the Central day at Santa Pod this weekend, surrounded by a million Fords and a few drag specials. The last time I ran the car standard, I did a 16.69 quarter which I was fairly happy with, so was hoping to do better this time. Wasn't best pleased when the guy photographing the cars as they came into the club area lowered his camera and shook his head in disapproval as I drove past, normally wouldn't have been bothered but had a very sore head at the time... So, 3 runs on the strip - against a highly modified mk2 escort running a cosworth lump, an Evo 7 and finally to add insult to injury, a V8 capri with nitrous and a supercharger. You won't be too surprised to hear I lost all three runs (although the evo stuffed it and only came in about 20m ahead of me, bet he was gutted ) So, since the last time I went, I've got better tyres, better suspension, a remap to about 175bhp and since then, a full Blueflame System - so probably over 180bhp. And could I get my time under 16 seconds? Could I bo**ocks. 16.26 was the best I could manage Now I blame this in part to my shovel feet and lack of sleep, and a herculean drinking session for my mate's birthday the night before. But mostly, I just couldn't get the power down. Which surprised me, because on the road, I never seem to have a problem. However on the strip, I think I was only surpassed for cumulative smoking efforts by the jet car! Anybody else got a remapped vRS without ESP, and had similar problems trying to launch it down a strip? I'm sure with practice I could get it under 16 seconds, but don't think doing that on a regular basis would be considered to be showing "mechanical sympathy" to my clutch, lol On a side note, really made me want to build a lightweight drag car on the cheap, there were a couple of mad creations there including fiat 126s and a mid engined, supercharged and nitrous'd mk1 fiesta that were running 10-12 second quarters! Anybody know if you can drop a hyabusa engine in the back of a Rapid 136 Coupe?
  10. Fraid not, remembered I'd left one of the brass fittings on my 200SX - got in touch with the guy I sold it to, and nabbed it off the old car
  11. Bumpity bump bump bump OK, longest running mod I've ever attempted but finally getting somewhere Boost pressure gauge - got the necessary fitting to tap the inlet and suitable black silicone sugnal hose to run this gauge Oil temp gauge - got some sump plugs drilled and tapped to accept the sender so that's all good too Oil pressure - by far the hardest but finally getting somewhere - saw an ad in this month's PPC (great mag, if you haven't read it, get it) for a specialist supplier of remote oil pressure gauge fitting kits. They've confirmed they have one that should fit - but what length do I want? 0.5m or 1.0m? I'm tempted to go with the longer one as it's more likely to be helpful in running the wiring, but do shorter hoses give more accurate readings, and are longer hoses more likely to get gunged up as the oil isn't actually flowing through them? Gauges are in place now, no pics yet, bit pointless until they are wired up, but they look quite good. Not to everyone's taste I'm sure but hey, it's my car and I like 'em

  13. Oh dear, do I win a prize for porkiest briskoda lummox? Looks like I'm a 50C/D!!! Probably something to do with being a pound or two shy of 18 stone at the mo... must... resist... the beer! And as for the 9" comment above, sadly that would be 10.5" :(
  14. I've had a catalogue of bad experiences at this dealer, see here: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/showthread.php?t=19797&highlight=vindis
  15. Didn't buy mine direct either, tried to, but Milotec directed me to Road and Sport Developments. Wish they hadn't in retrospect. Took my money straight away, I chased them about a fortnight ago, took 3 emails to get an answer, which was that they were waiting on stock. No apology for the delay. Chased them three more times since, only got an answer twice, again waiting on stock, and no apology for the delay. Will be one month tomorrow that they took my cash but I'm told vaguely to expect delivery "some time next week" assuming the stock comes in. Won't be using them again.
  16. Is that the Milotec grille? I'm still waiting for mine to turn up! Was ordered on 10th Feb...
  17. Sorry for bumping this thread after so long but I've finally got my gauges and got around to trying to put them in. Trouble is, the boost gauge only came with a nylon t-piece and not the theaded brass fitting you'd normally use to tap into the inlet (like I need to do here to fit the gauge). Any ideas where I can get one, or what I could use as a substitute? I've emailed the place I bought the gauges from (RaidHP, the manufacturer) and they have thus far blanked me and not responded to a couple of different emails.
  18. I must say, I've never driven a petrol car that could return even slightly comparable fuel economy with me driving. My old Nova SR used to do about 25-30 (on webers with janspeed manifold and system etc), my 309 GTI wasn't much better, and my SX returned an average 18 MPG. When I borrow my old dear's A6 quattro and drive it like it wants to be driven, returns between 8 and 13!!! The vRS, with remap, averages about 40. You may have guessed from the above figures I do mostly town driving (although the SX and Audi figures were mixed town and motorway). If you drive with a heavy right foot then I don't think you can fault the vRS. EDIT: Just used this handy website to weigh up the price differences on fuel alone between my 200sx, and the vRS http://info.themgroup.co.uk/common/calculators/fuel_cost.html 12k per year, 97.9p for super unleaded around my way, 18mpg on the SX: £2,963.10 12k per year, 89.9p for diesel around my way, 40mpg on the vRS: £1,224.43 So about 59% cheaper to run the vRS, on fuel alone, or to look at it another way, if I'd had the vRS instead of the SX for the last 5 years, I'd be £8,700 better off in fuel bills alone!!!
