  1. Admiral said they wouldn't cover a vehicle with as many mods as mine has. So did Elephant. I didn't think I'd done THAT many They also said lots of modded vRS owners had been stuffing them into things over the past year and subsequently there'd been a big increase in claims, making the car harder to insure. Come on, own up, who made my insurance dear this year???
  2. Admiral won't touch me, nor will Elephant Don't get it - mods aside, the car is relatively cheap to insure -
  3. Very odd, admiral were the cheapest on confused but wouldn't offer cover when I told them what mods I had.
  4. Got my renewal quote through from Tesco and they want a little over
  5. Nope, slacken them off on the driver's side before trying to fit them on the passenger side
  6. I know, but I think my brace is slightly off kilter, the bolt holes in the brace don't line up with the shock tower, and you have to use a pry bar to hold it in place while fitting the bolts - pain in the backside job to do single handed.
  7. Cheap cheap... tempted by the idea as the green filter is a pain to get out for cleaning when you've got the strut brace on - and my strut brace is a bitch to re-fit after removing it to get at the air filter!
  8. Agree about the lifespan bit' date=' they go yellow like any clear PVC does after a few years - but not sure about the point you make about the stones still causing chips. Did you see the link in the 4th post of this thread? [url']http://www.automotivearticles.com/Clear_Bra_3M.shtml[/url] They shoot a car with an BB gun with and without the film on, and it stops the pellets from chipping. The only time I can see a danger of this taking the paint off, is if you fit it once the panel you're fitting it to is already chipped. If you fit it to a panel without chips, then it shouldn't be a problem. PS a similar film to this is fitted either side of my old dear's Audi A6 wheelarches as standard - it's a 2002 quattro V8 so it's a bit pokey - so far no stone chips and no yellowing to be seen...
  9. Why not save your money and get some leading edge tape instead? http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/ProductDetail.asp?cls=MCYCLE&pcode=AEH86741HS It's what's used in racing applications on the front ends of cars that have no choice but to tailgate! It won't last as long as the proper formed 3M kits, but it's also a damn sight cheaper - 4" wide, 2 metres should easily cover the length of your bonnet and cost about £25.
  10. I'm surprised no-one's been coarse / immature enough to mention the obvious one yet... Although in some cases I'm guessing it won't be getting daily use! (and upgrades aren't really an option either, lol)
  11. They've also got them in black, with matching sideskirts if you want to make your Fabia look like a Rover 25 Streetwise :thumbdwn:
  12. That place sells some terrible stick on bits - bubble arches for your Furby, anyone???
  13. Oh, and apparently, the cause of the crash was a botched burnout-to-wheelie attempt, which ended in a tankslapper and the girl conked out on the floor. Silly tart
  14. Stolen from another forum but don't think it's been on here yet... The girl apparently borrowed the bike from someone else, didn't know how to ride it and binned it in spectacular style outside the Ace Cafe. I'd like to say I'm a decent human being and my first thoughts were for her welfare... But that'd be rubbish My first thoughts were "nice rack" shortly followed by "silly bint"
  15. There were two Capris that were seriously kitted out, one in yellow and one in brown and primer, they were both running V8s on nitrous, but I believe on was supercharged and one was turbo'd. When I was sat in the queue next to the yellow one, and he was revving his engine before the race, all of the trim in my car was rattling, including the bits that don't normally rattle from the sub in the boot! Damn it was loud. I really want a lairy V8
  16. I was the only vRS that I saw there, but I left at 2pm-ish. If it was me he saw, I would have been recongnisable from my number plate - it's ** JUT
