6 speed DSG auto box oil change
ve had another quote which is much more reasonable and also closer to home. Once Ive had the two front wishbones and the light snsor done in a couple of weeks, ll look to get the dsg oil changed. I have as previously mentioned little to nothing as far as previous history so Im starting from scratch, hence the cambelt change..

6 speed DSG auto box oil change
Apologies for all the questions, but been a while since I owned a Skoda... Seems to be two trains of thought on the DSG auto gearbox oil change.. Change regularly or leave it be? Having just bought the Superb and never had an auto in my life, and given its done 138k, I thought as i have little to nothing as far as service history that I would get the oil/filter changed in the gearbox.. Initial quote is £413 +VAT for oil, filter and health check (whatever that may be) which seems steep imho but if thats about average how often would you look to change the oil etc?

left front level control system sensor
Superb just had cambelt and water pump done today. My mechanic also put his diagnostic tester on it to locate the fault on the AFS headlight issue and it`s come back with left front level control system sensor open cct/short cct. Genuine part is around £250 from Skoda. Are the aftermarket parts any good as I can get a supposedly OEM part from Amazon for example for under 40 quid? Or do people suggest using genuine parts?

2014 skoda superb estate rear left boot lid cable grommet replacement..
I seem to have finally rectified all issues with the rear wiper not working/squirting, but in doing so the wiring grommet needs replacing.. Is there a plug near the boot lid somewhere that can be unplugged by means of a bit of trim removal to replace this or would it be cut into the loom, fit new grommet then resplice loom? I`ve replaced a section of washer hose which has a joint under the rear quarter white trim and can access the loom there too but didnt really want to have to cut and splice each individual wire if there was a plug somewhere? I need to replace the grommet as I`m getting water ingress through the hole which is dripping into the roof lining and along that white plastic rear quarter trim when the washer jet is used.

Rear Wiper not working
ok, so I found a break in the loom and now have a working rear wiper, but no squirty.. found a split in the squirty tube in same place as wire and the only thing I could think of to join the two pieces together was a section of a pen refill that was a snug fit. done this and still no squirty so topped up washer bottle in case it was low but still no squirty. tried removing the nozzle jet and still nothing comes out. Would the fact that i used a pen refill (smaller diameter) be affecting the ability to push the flow through or am I likely to have another split somewhere? No idea wher the pipe runs after coming down the left rear quarter..

Rear Wiper not working
bought a replacement wiper motor unit and after a bit of faff, got it changed over. However, this has not rectified the problem and the rear wiper still does not work when you push the control stalk forwards. Also, there is only a wee dribble from the water jet which is the same as before. still waiting on the handbooks to arrive but did manage to find an online version so I checked for a blown fuse and this seemed to be ok. Could it be the control stalk faulty or is there something really obvious that I`m missing?

2014 Skoda Superb Lauren & Klement 2.0 tdi estate..
Thanks for that. Cambelt was done at 62k so it`s been another 76k and booked in to be changed again early Jan. The light issue will be checked at same time. Am waiting on delivery of said handbooks as there were none with the vehicle when purchased.

Rear Wiper not working
Just noticed the rear wiper is not working on the Superb Estate (2014) Is this likely to be a fuse or is motor knackered? Squirter works but when you push the stalk forwards wiper doesnt move. Also with the auto tailgate how easy are these to fit if it is a motor required? Cheers Andy

2014 Skoda Superb Lauren & Klement 2.0 tdi estate..
Been a while, but I bought a 2.0 tdi Skoda Superb Estate with the Lauren & Klement trim yesterday. It`s done 138K but very clean and tidy , no dings, leather all good etc. Cambelt was done as far as I can tell at around 62K so am thinking it may be wise to get it done again now or soon as now done 138K? Also I notice what I assume are possible error messages on the MFD as follows: No bend lighting function AFS, check handbook and Check safe lock, check handbook are these anything to be concerned about? Cheers Andy

Octavia Vrs Estate
thinking of early retirement next year and looking to purchase either of two vehicles. Another Honda CR-V or coming back to Skoda and getting a Vrs estate. I know most of the pitfalls round the Honda, but wanted a bit more info on the Vrs if anyone can assist please? I assume they are still cambelts, rather than chain drive, so do water pumps still need changing at same time, and what sort of intervals between these? Are the DSG as economical as manual as I`d like to give one a go but not if there`s a vast difference in fuel consumption. Also, I believe the 2.0 l were £30 road tax upto 2017, is this correct or did it go on after that? cheers in advance for any help guys.... Andy
