seat switch
Hi all, I have the Lauren and Klement version of the Superb and wondered what this extra switch was for. There`s one on both front seats but no reference to them in the owners handbook. Is it something to do with cooling the seats maybe?

Superb MK2 boot torch
I changed the batteries and it does operate when boot opens and then goes off, but when removed it will not operate as a torch so I guess its knackered inside somewhere. Will have to look for a replacement..

Superb MK2 boot torch
Just wondering here if the boot torch should be on all the time? Been looking at several different Superbs via autotrader just out of boredom and I notice all the pics in the boot show the torch as on. I noticed mine was always on and on investigation found the terminals to be corroded from the leaky washer hose pipe so have removed and cleaned everything up ready to fit new batteries when they arrive. I`m assuming it should only come on if the boot is opened and on removal you should be able to turn on and off via the button? If as before , it is on when boot is shut would assume its either knackered or still and issue with the terminals for connection?

12 v ignition switched feed
Just about to re install my dash cam and looking for a fuse in the drivers side fuseboard that is switched on with the ignition? the 12v cigarette type adaptors in the front and rear appear to be live permanently so looking to fit a secondary 12v lighter attachment via piggy back fuse in the fuse box area as loads of room to tidy wires etc. Can anyone tell me which fuses are definitley only on with the ignition please to save faffing about?

changing battery
Having just done the satnav upgrade, it would appear my stop/start battery has died. I currently have it on charge to hopefully get me to Halfords to pick up a new battery ( I knew i`d have to get one at some point as the stop/start was a bit sporadic at best) My question is this.. Is there a code to input into the Colombus infotainment system following a battery change to get it to work again or does it just carry on as normal?

colombus sat nav upgrade
Any idea how long it takes for this to upgrade? Popped the disc in and opted for install rather than use disc but there doesn't appear to be any progress bar or anything to say the unit is actually doing anything other than the odd disc noise here and there. Been sat out here for an hour so far...

water ingress drivers footwell?
Since I last posted on 7th Feb, we have had all sorts of rain, torrential, misty rain, normal rain, whatever you can think of and nothing has come in so I cancelled the appointment to investigate further. Last night we had 50mph winds and driving rain and when I looked inside car this morning a very tiny pool of water around 2" diameter was on the rubber mat.. This defies logic so for my own piece of mind can anyone tell me or show me a pic of where the drivers side sunroof drain actually comes out under the wheel arch please? I`m going to try threading some 3mm strimmer line down the drain and see if it comes out to confirm the drain is intact first off.

What next? Had enough now.....
Ok, so fault code read and comes back with throttle body sensor so nothing to do with glo plugs whatsoever..... Been recalibrated and checked and all working within the parameters so will see if it comes back again. Now I`m wondering did this happen because I went to start the car in Drive rather than Park or could it be due to the water issues where the drivers footwell has had water coming in from time to time? Not exactly sure where the sensor is located but assuming somewhere in the vicinity of the throttle pedal?

What next? Had enough now.....
I have no idea how old the battery is, as I bought car 2nd hand from what has turned out to be a not particularly honest used car sales place . Having had vehicles with this before, I know the battery has to be tip top for it to operate and once I was confident nothing else was wrong or likely to go wrong,I was going to replace it. (See my other posts regarding issues and you'll see what I mean re expense) I was just curious if it may be something else actually causing the issue, like the Glo plugs or if it is just simply the battery..

What next? Had enough now.....
Dropping the wife off at A&E a short while ago and when I pulled up outside, the stop /Start decided to work and cut the engine ( this has been sporadic to say the least and i fully expect to have to change the battery at some stage) however, when I took my foot off the brake I had message come up to "Start car with key" which I duly did, but then I get the engine management light and glo plug light come on. Management light is solid, glo plug light is flashing. Drove home (only a short journey) and switched off the car and grabbed the trusty owners manual but nothing really mentioned except what the lights are if they come on? Started the engine again and just the management light came on.My question is, could it be an issue with bad or poor glo plugs which is actually the issue with the stop/start function or is it something else? Will pop it into my mate tomorrow to put his code reader on, but wondered if anyone may have had similar issues?

water ingress drivers footwell?
sadly, it would appear the issue is not sorted after all the rain we have had. Opened car door Monday morning and found another pool of water on the rubber mat. I`ve been back to the garage and they are going to have another look on 18th feb (earliest they can fit me in). This now has me wondering if there is anywhere else this could be blocked apart from the front drains which have been dealt with, or if it is actually coming in from the windscreen? Extremely frustrating as I just want to enjoy the car, but all this is putting me off somewhat...

colombus sat nav upgrade
Can anyone tell me how to check the current version of this as far as satnav. I don`t want to purchase the satnav upgrade if it already has the latest/last one done...

Heated seat replacement / retrofit with universal part?
Had you considered taking the seat out and removing the covers to find the break and repairing? I did this when I had my range rover p38. The breaks are usually easy to find due to scorch marks.. I just soldered in fresh bits of wire and it worked a treat...

water ingress drivers footwell?
I went to my local independant Skoda authorised garage in the finish. for the sake of an hours labour it was worth it.. Cleared the blockage in drivers side drain, checked passenger side too. All good and no more water inside.. And given the rain we`ve just had , it has had a bloody good test...

water ingress drivers footwell?
I had wondered about using strimmer line? i have some 6mm line that i use for the heavy duty strimmer but still quite flexible. Am guessing that should go through to at least prove if there`s a blockage?

water ingress drivers footwell?
Yes it does have the sunroof, but am really puzzled by this now. Substantial puddle of water yesterday. dried it all up, has been raining pretty much all night and this morning when I check barely anything at all just a small patch about 3" in diameter. splashes evident under dash near throttle pedal, but cannot feel any wetness under the dash on a cursory feel.. If it is the sunroof, how easy is it to access the drain hoses to check for blockages/or detachment?

colombus sat nav upgrade
was looking to do an upgrade to the sat nav on my colombus unit and reliably informed by satnavishop that there is no upgrade after 2020-2021 for the 2014 model in my vehicle. Anyone shed any light as to why no further upgrades available?

water ingress drivers footwell?
After just spending out on Cambelt/water pump, gearbox oil change, both front wishbones and headlight sensor, I had rather hoped i`d cracked this but it appears i now have water ingress into the drivers footwell? It doesnt appear to be a great amount but it is worrying nonetheless. I have the panoramic roof that is also half a sunroof but there doesn`t appear to be any staining or wet around the headlining so am wondering if this might be a blocked scuttle or something like that? Is this a common issue and whats the best way to rectify please anyone?

left front level control system sensor
I went for middle ground in the finish and got an oem version from Skodaparts.com in Czech republic. Very reasonably priced and being fitted tomorrow along with two new wishbones..

2014 skoda superb estate rear left boot lid cable grommet replacement..
It would appear that there are indeed plugs on the loom in the rear quarter, but sadly they are too large to fit through the new cable grommet so I`ve had to cut all 15 (3 groups of 5) and splice after threading though the new grommet. Not sure how many have heard of the wago electrical connectors, but I have used these rather than have to solder and heatshrink 15 lots of wire. All good, new grommet in and no further water ingress.

6 speed DSG auto box oil change
oddly enough the initial quote wasn`t from a main dealer, but the second quote of £300 inc vat was from a Skoda authorised dealer who I have used a lot in the past, so once the wishbones are done at my local garage, I will be getting it done at the Skoda authorised dealer.
