  1. That's not to far away from what I was considering (with my terrible photoshop skills). Little darker, no massive change.
  2. I don't, no. I did see the inside of the button on some youtube video, looked like 3-4 contacts with the same rubber dome remotes and cheapo keyboards use. I've "repaired" one of my logitech harmony remotes a few times as after 2-3 years the contacts began to be less responsive. Some contact cleaner sorted them right out even though they appeared super clean already. Kinda crazy they rely on a similar design in a car, would of thought it would be something more industrial/reliable. Looks like a new button is around ÂŖ40, but fitting may require removing the steering wheel which is something I'd never do myself. I didn't grab that particular manual from erwin when I used it, if anyone has access it'd be great to know if it just requires the trim to be removed below the column or the whole wheel. It does give me hope though that when I ask the dealer to take a look and it inevitably behaves itself they may be able to see some error codes to back it up rather than thinking i'm making it up.
  3. Just out of interest, does anyone know how to access/remove the button on the fabia? Seen on some marks the steering wheel needs removing and on others just the bottom trim for the steering column. Not really planning on doing myself now, but more curious for the future at this point if it managed to fail after 4 years!
  4. Not sure how much will apply, but some info here:
  5. Thanks, sounds like another niggle on the list for the dealer. Did see some posts in the yeti forum saying they used contact cleaner on the button that sorted it temporarily... It's under extended warranty though so will ask them to check. Be interested to hear if anyone else has had similar problems.
  6. Just wondering if anyone else has had this... occasionally, the first press of the start button ignores me. As in, no ignition, no attempted start (or sometimes stop), no warning/change on dash it just does nothing. I'm talking maybe 1 in 10-20 times it requires a second press. Not sure if i'm being too quick with it, or pressing it at an odd angle 🤔 Never had to press it more than twice or use more force etc. so doubting its the button itself. It's been doing it a while but not really thought about too much, then it did it to me twice over a bunch of shortish trips today.
  7. If you're concerned about the handbrake, get into the habit of leaving the car in first. Been doing it since I passed my test about 15 years ago. On the odd occasion when leaving the car for long periods I've left it only in gear, no handbrake to stop any chance of binding. Unless it's a dsg, then ignore me 😆
  8. That was my thought too, might dust off photoshop later and have a crack at mocking it up
  9. I had a call from their regional manager, very apologetic. They offered to pay for that wheel to be refurbished... so going to get them all done. Just need to settle on a colour now 🤔 Anyone have any recommendations for a cappuccino beige fabia?
  10. Eco friendly, almost carbon neutral. All good 😁
  11. I don't know for sure, but I thought they only had 6 speakers... 2 in the rear, 2 fronts and 2 tweeters 🤔
  12. The 215/45/r16 sport maxx on the rear of mine became mishapen with stepped wear, made a terrible noise from the rear of the car most noticeable on smooth surfaces about 30mph. Certainly won't fit them again. No idea on age of the rears, cars done 32k and they had about 5mm left. Rears obviously wear slower, so who knows. Car is so much quieter now I'm shot of them.
  13. I read somewhere (may of been Ross tech forums) that someone had only ever seen it set to fleece or efb, including on his AGM fitted Audi which was fleece.
  14. A friend at works leaves them on his focus estate, he passed me the other day doing 40-50 I'd guess with a very loud high pitched whistle đŸ¤Ŗ sure they don't all do that, but another thing to consider if you don't have anything on top
  15. Just done a 30 minute journey, start stop still wouldn't work at the end as high power consumption. I normally turn it off tbh so no idea how it normally behaves. Guessing that's not a great sign for the battery
  16. Is the Mk7 golf the same platform in terms of coding as the fabia iii?
  17. Nope, they're claiming it's normal and fine to put two scratches in my alloy... "Been doing it for years" etc. Can see photos in the wheels/alloys forum on here
  18. Odb eleven apparently can, Carista can't from what I've read. Depending on the type of module, it has to be coded differently 🤔 Some info here: TBH its all a bit out of my comfort zone, and with the car under extended warranty I might get Skoda to have a look. Any idea how many notes they'd be likely to relieve me of for a new battery 🙈
  19. So I had the rears replaced with Avon ZV7's. So far, much quieter and the wum-wum type roaring has gone away at 30-40 MPH. Unfortunately the fitter has scratched one of my alloys in two places removing the wheel weights which I've put a complaint in about 😡 But happy with the tyres. They commented that all VAG group cars tend to deform on the rears, nothing they can do as its a fixed axle but also agreed that they see a fair amount of Dunlops with the same issue... will stay away in the future.
  20. From what I've read using an AGM battery is fine, you just need to tell the BMC that its no longer an "EFB" battery and is a "Fleece" battery along with modifying the serial so it knows its a new battery. Without that, it won't charge the battery correctly.
  21. Pretty annoyed that the option to set the type of battery, capacity and serial are a VCDS job only. Means replacing the battery yourself at home is an annoying/expensive endeavour. It should really be doable via the car's settings imho. Phoned a local vag independent specialist and they said they'd only fit the same type of battery that is in the vehicle, wouldn't consider fitting/coding an AGM battery for me đŸ¤Ļ‍♂ī¸
  22. The branch itself (of national) were adamant its normal and expected. I've put in a written complaint with photos, so waiting to hear back now. I won't be using them again, that's for sure.
  23. I've been getting the same warning probably once a week. Last service back in July when it was tested it was down to 232 DIN from 320 DIN capacity. The year before, 272 DIN. Thinking it might be time to get it swapped, before it starts causing me grief. Does anyone know if this is a suitable size? https://www.tayna.co.uk/car-batteries/bosch/s5a05/ From the sites i've looked at, they all seem to suggest a 027 battery for my 1.2 TSI 110. Would just need to get someone to code it in via VCDS after 🤔
  24. So took it back, they told me its normal and they've been doing it for years... no other way of doing it etc. Never noticed this on any other wheel I've had a tyre changed on 🤔 Not sure whether to put a complaint in. Anyone else ever had this done? Had a quote from a local firm of ÂŖ55+VAT to take off the tyre, dip to take it back to alloy, repair, powder coat, refit tyre and balance. That seems pretty reasonable to me? I have a few scuffs from the previous owner on other wheels, so tempted to get them all done and maybe change the colour a bit.
  25. Only noticed when I got home, will be going back tomorrow to speak to them. Is this repairable? Looks like they used something metal to remove the wheel weights and scratched it fairly deeply twice ☚ī¸
