the thread is about an inch too short to go though both the silver cone shape cap and the top mount as the top cap wont go any lower even comperssing the springs as it hits the damper rod
-
TA Technix coilovers with helper springs. The ta technix ones with the cap on top.
but the shock thread will not go through the top mount aswell as the cap.
-
I am trying to fit my new coil overs on to my VRS, would i need new top mounts? or could some one tell me how they could fit as the thread doesnt seem to be long enough to screw the nut back on.
Help needed ASAP as the car is on the ramps now.
Thanks

Iv got standard dampers in mine and 50mm springs have been looking for uprated dampers but not yet found any for my budget
the stanard ones make the front of the car very bouncy (im my case anyway)

new shocks came this week now just need to put them in so off to
sweettalk my mate so i can put it up on his ramp
And they dont fit went to c my mate Alex on saturday had it on the ramp Alex had a look at the rear 1s before we pulled it a part (didnt fit) Venom sent polo mk 5 kit then got on the phone to them and told them the rear 1s didnt fit they said they would ring supplier on monday then ring me and let me know whats hapening, then hung up the phone Alex came in and said the front ones wouldnt fit either so back on the phone (same story will ring on monday). Rang venom tuesday as they didnt ring on monday and venom rang supilers (spax) they said that polo mk 5 is same as fabia (quite clearly not as rears dont fit and there is no arb mounting bracket on the front ones) also they dont make any dampers for a polo mk 6 (eg. fabia as its same chassi) and have been told that i now need to buy coilies for it
Allways happens to me
-
e bay they are cobra springs good stance but really bouncy in the front
-
had hot tuning coilies in my ocky no complaints here
-
Thats on coils mate
Your fitting 50mm springs and as the vrs sits 15mm lower than standard your effectively only goin down 35mm iirc
nope no coils mate just springs im looking for coils at the moment:)
-
lowered 50mm apparently, no comparison IMO
yeah that my one and it is ment to be a 50mm drop
-
 50mm is 2 inches! Unless you've fitted them wrong or the springs are wrong there should be a great different. Have you actually driven it... Or even let the handbrake off to settle the suspension?
J.
the 50 mm drop i did on mine was just that 50mm and it looks good
didnt drive it it was just droped when we let it off the ramp
You havent left the jack under it have you ????
-
you would think so but the vRS is heavyer than a tdi by almost 100kg i think
-
got them from ebay (2nd hand) advertised as 50mm cobra vrs fabia springs
as it turns out they are tdi springs not vrs ones so they bounce like mad but only in the front the back is fine
-
no coilovers in vrs just 50mm springs
ocky is on hot tuning coilies back at full drop and front still got 1/4 inch to drop down
-
i know sux aye
