  1. Mine came with PZero's and I never liked them either. Side walls were made of paper and the grip was questionable. Switched out to PS4's and have never looked back. Love the black badge work, never considered it till seeing yours but straight on the list to update.
  2. Might well be failing mechatronic unit but as that is a pricy part to replace it's worth starting with a full service and a reset of the adaptations. Is it all gears or just pull away 1st/2nd?
  3. If it's the DQ250 then the Solenoids N215 (Reverse and odd numbered gear's) and the N216 (Even gears) can be sticky and eventually fail. Depending how handy you are you can drop the gearbox oil, pop the mech cover off and carefully swap these two out in location. Some threads floating about of the Golf guys doing similar and it resolving a lot of jerky pull aways and heavy handed gear shifts. Parts including seals are about £200+ Oil. The rest of the process is like a DSG service, refill, start engine, move gear selector through all gears, warm up trans fluid, drain excess, reset all adaptation with VCDS or OBD11 etc.
  4. Really helpful button if you are leaving a dog or kids, for a short period, in the car whilst wanting to lock the car.
  5. The Toolbox can patch most FEC/SWaP codes including activation of Smartlink. You will need access to GEM though, which needs to be activated through OBD11 or VCDS. I'm guessing if you are removing CP its an aftermarket or upgraded unit. Can you not take it back to the person that removed CP and get them to reactivate it?
  6. I would normally totally agree with you yet the 230 & 245 both get the similar economy as the 220 so it feels like there is a bit of headroom. My old PD170 MK2 found another 5mpg after a stage 1 map...of course using my right foot more immediately rendered this useless.
  7. Between 35-38mpg on a 220 DSG vRS. A fair amount of urban miles in that and often with a roofbox etc. Long Drives I can get into the last 40's but that is generally cruising at 60-65mph. Always wondered if a conservative map to add some lower torque would benefit the fuel economy
  8. Skoda don't release patch notes of the updates. However if you load in the new FW then prior to update it will show you roughly what modules are being updated
  9. In all my years I'd never considered the one plus one of me towing being the reason my rear tracking wandered. Feeling like a bit of a **** with this realisation 🤦‍♂️
  10. Had a RARB fitted years ago on my MK3 and it was a lovely update on the steering input. Much sharper and less roll. Had the Hunter alignment done with this. IMO laser alignment is well worth it for handling and even tyre wear. I have always found that Octavia's sag a little in the rear after a year or so causing inside shoulder wear. Combine that with the array of potholes about ATM and you'll be surprised how far out tracking can be.
