Skoda Octavia Vrs Petrol - What mpg do you get?
littleredduck replied to STU3Y's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I would normally totally agree with you yet the 230 & 245 both get the similar economy as the 220 so it feels like there is a bit of headroom. My old PD170 MK2 found another 5mpg after a stage 1 map...of course using my right foot more immediately rendered this useless. -
Skoda Octavia Vrs Petrol - What mpg do you get?
littleredduck replied to STU3Y's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Between 35-38mpg on a 220 DSG vRS. A fair amount of urban miles in that and often with a roofbox etc. Long Drives I can get into the last 40's but that is generally cruising at 60-65mph. Always wondered if a conservative map to add some lower torque would benefit the fuel economy -
Amundsen MIB2 Firmware Update
littleredduck replied to nopowerman's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Skoda don't release patch notes of the updates. However if you load in the new FW then prior to update it will show you roughly what modules are being updated -
6 Year Refresh, vRS 245
littleredduck replied to Swirly182's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
In all my years I'd never considered the one plus one of me towing being the reason my rear tracking wandered. Feeling like a bit of a **** with this realisation 🤦♂️ -
6 Year Refresh, vRS 245

Had a RARB fitted years ago on my MK3 and it was a lovely update on the steering input. Much sharper and less roll. Had the Hunter alignment done with this. IMO laser alignment is well worth it for handling and even tyre wear. I have always found that Octavia's sag a little in the rear after a year or so causing inside shoulder wear. Combine that with the array of potholes about ATM and you'll be surprised how far out tracking can be. -
I have a 08 Pre-FL vRS PD Octavia with duel climate control. The right hand knob on the climate control has always adjusted both sides of the temp read outs, when the left knob is turned it controls just the passenger side. Recently due to my own stupid fault the battery ran dead flat. I installed another with no issues and everything was find until i tried to use the climate control of which it appears to have swapped into LHD mode. The right knob now only controls the drivers climate while the left hand knob controls both! While not life ending it is really annoying! I have had a float about on the forums and also in VCDS but i can't find any kind of coding option to revert it to RHD mode. Can anyone help?

H&R 35mm lowering springs for mk2 octavia vRS TDI
littleredduck replied to andsoutham's topic in Parts For Sale
Are these estate or saloon springs? Also is that a 35mm drop on standard or on the vRS (15mm lower already IIRC) -
Octavia Vrs xenon adjustment
littleredduck replied to NinjaVRS's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
This is a huge must. If they aren't in learn mode when you manually adjust the motors will hit the bottom/ top of their adjustment and break. Once in learn mode there is two simple socket screws on the inside edge of each light. Visible when the bonnet is up. -
OK brainboxes, what does this do?

This! its bang on at keeping a little treat cool in the hotter weather! :sun: -
I have an 80 mile a day commute round, for the large part, the M25; a road well known for being a car park. For this reason I leave the traffic reports (TP) on for most of the drive as to be notified to either take another way home or prepare for the long haul! The other day I hit the back of traffic and realised that the radio hadn't chirped up once with the traffic reports. Since then I've come to the conclusion the function has entirely ceased to work?! I've tried many configurations of turning off and on the TP/ car and nothing seems to work? Can anyone shed any light? Its a 58 P-FL PD170 vRS with a factory Stream MP3 and jumbo box.

littleredduck replied to RoadWarrior's topic in Octavia Projects

Octavia VRS MK2 - Many questions......
littleredduck replied to JimmyUK's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I used sticky pads for fixing number plates on. Bought a pck for a couple of quid from Halfrauds and they've been secure ever since. -

littleredduck replied to JimmyUK's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
From the very edge of that logo I would say that you could have purchased MK1 Octavia mats and not MK2 ones? Hence the floor studs maybe in the wrong place!? -
Vega Alloys Repaint
littleredduck replied to psycho6149's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Loads of threads online for referbing alloys. Not too difficult but is certainly time consuming. The trick is putting a huge amount of effort into the preparation to ensure the best finish! -
looking for good coilies and how low?
littleredduck replied to allen_octavia's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
From general experience of collies everything under the £250 mark is the same product with different brand stickers on them. I've run cheap collies on many cars and have never found them horrific for day to day driving. If your looking to spend a bit more I have read many good thinks regarding the Apex RDX's. Or if your looking at spending even more...Air? -
I drive a PD and have never had the DPF light on. As mentioned above I think it comes down to the type of driving you'll be doing. I do a fair amount of motorway driving and good runs which keep the DPF clear. Injectors have all been done by Skoda too so no issues there Having never driven the CR I can't comment to much but talking to few people it seems they develop there torque a lot more linearly that the PD which dumps it in a huge lump! As far as i'm aware if you find a looked after one then neither engine will give you to many issues (famous last words)

AUX Issues with Stream MP3
littleredduck replied to littleredduck's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
You were bang on! Pulled the rear of the console out and the plug some how had simply come un-clipped. All hooked back up and it works perfectly again! -
