  2. Can someone tell if dipstick on CLHA on Octavia will be identical to Mk7 Golf with same engine code? I am away from home and only nearest dealer to me is Skoda. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  3. True, I have also noticed small crack on dipstick just above max level mark. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  4. Hey guys Had my 1.6 tdi serviced yesterday, engine code CLHA. Wasn't sure how much oil it will need refilling as nothing is stated in owners manual. So filled with 4.3 litres measured level and added about 0.4 ltrs, so total 4.7ltrs. After reading various forums, 4.6 ltrs is correct capacity. Left car overnight and checked oil level first thing before starting engine. Level was above area A marked on picture (just on top groves). Took in for run until engine got fully warmed, parked on level ground and waited 5 min before checking oil again. Had very unclear reading, half of oil was in area "A" on dip stick, half above area "A". Is it over filled? I want to keep oil in area "A" as it says in owners manual if car used on long motorway journeys. I am going in few days for 5000 miles road trip. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  5. Just a little update. My car now didn't show any signs of active regen for over 12 days. I keep stop/start on, change gears at higher revs (2 to 2.5 rmp), same daily journeys and not noticed any regen's at all. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  6. Same here, I am not sure if it regen's now. Car definitely idles just on 1k rpm occasionally, it warms up pretty quick, fans are on but not too loud. They go off when engine I shut engine off. Stop start operates as normal. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  7. I noticed stop start still works when car idles higher than normal. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  8. I left car to do its thing for 3 days now. I noticed following behaviours, active regen happened about 3 - 4 times. All regen's seems to be mini regen's. Idle rise to 1k rpm but few minutes it went back to normal. This morning on the way to work about 6 miles trip, active regen came back, after driving on for last mile (taking gear changes up to 3k rpm) it completed regen. 20 min later I had to nip out and started car to my surprise it started another regen. Not sure now are these classed as regen's. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  9. I keep stop/start system off during short journeys. My understanding it gets engine to get up to temperature quickly. Am I correct or got it wrong? Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  10. Many thanks Do I need to worry if regen will take place after couple days again. Also when does active regen happens, is it safe just let it idle until regen is complete? Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  11. I have 1.6 tdi MK7 Golf Bluemotion Technology. I only got car about 1 week ago. It's not brand new, 2014 done 71k. I do really low miles and most of them just commute to work about 10 miles a day. Occasionally I will do long trips, could be 200 to 3000 miles per trip. 3 days ago first active regen happened when I pulled on my drive. Turned engine off, fans came on, 10 min later fans gone off. Today same again 3 days later another active regen. This time I took on motorway 10 min drive and regen completed successfully. Now my question, is it normal active regen's so often? On my last 1.6tdi Bluemotion these was happening until egr cooler had failed. Now i am paranoid that something wrong with a car. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks a lot very helpful I know quite few Passat 's B6 are suffering with oil pump balancer shaft issues, BKP engines mostly.
  13. Hey guys Sorry probably this was covered several times, but can't find answers to my questions I am after buying 2004+ MK2 Octavia. Cars I am looking will be 140k+, I am looking 1.9tdi but also considering 2.0tdi. I am afraid of 2.0tdi oil pump issues which did effect vw's, do Octavia 's suffer from same problem?
  14. I got recently timing belt, water pump and drive belt changed for £240, the kit was Gates kit and pump had metal impelars. The price included replacing passenger side window regulator (second hand one) too.
  15. Thanks much appreciated. The worst thing not sure when it was replaced last. In service book says last time in 2008 at 58k have no records after this. Ordered all filters and oil.
  16. Thanks guys Will try to do it when weather will improve
  17. Hey guys Picked 2002 Skoda Octavia 1.9 tdi AVS enige with 114k on clock. Car has part service history but very tidy for age and mileage. Planning to do service next week so ordered all filters and oil. Here is questions: Timing belt intervals on AVS engine? I have record showing it was changed in 2008 at 58k. Also was reading about oil pick up pipes, does it needs changing too? What else would you advice to change? Many thanks
  18. Did you just pull it? Is there any clips which I need to watch out?
  19. Hey guys Picked today MK1 Octavia Elegance 1.9 tdi. Car overall in good nick, few niggles such as window regulator and micro switches on locks. Body wise it's pretty clean for age and mileage, just black bumper strips gone faded. I would like to remove them and spray in matt black but don't want to pull them in case clips will snap. Anyone knows how to safely remove them (front and rear)? Thanks
  20. Thank you for your reply. Sent from my iPhone
  21. Hey guys Looking for buying MK2 Superb. Cars i am considering 2009 with 120k+ miles. I found really nice example 2009 model 2.0tdi 170bhp. Planning to view car tomorrow, just after bit of advice, what to look for when buying superb2? What are common problems? Which engines are good 140 or 170? What are timing belt intervals? Many thanks. Sent from my iPhone
