  1. The first thing do when I start my car is turn off the on/off
  2. Thanks dave. From that thread it looks like a microswitch is the problem but they replace to whole gear selector unit. Would official fix apply if the car is out of warranty - 4.5 years old
  3. Hate the idea of selecting with a switch. Also it's there a N to leave it on while stationery in traffic. The lights on MK4 at least aren't split but not as nice as MK3 pre face lift. Don't like the trend for the sat nav screen to be less integrated. Now just looks like a tablet glued into position. Just my opinion though
  4. At my wits end on this. Had the brake pedal switch replaced which fixed the problem for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks it came back but was more intermittent. Was going to replace the gear selector (£700) but then heard it could just be a microswitch in the gear box (£45). Not sure now whether to take it to Skoda dealer to get it properly diagnosed or just take a punt on it being the gear selector and get it replaced with local garage
