  1. I was looking at the cost of fitting a lsd which came in at 2k but the SQV box (out of the 230 & leon cupra) has the trick diff already in and half the price, but I wasn't sure with it being labelled electric if it would work without the fancy shocks.
  2. Right so I presume that's the same for the manual as well. Just with it having a electronic diff i thought it might be working with each other. So there's should be no reason why I couldn't fit a sqv box to my car then? Btw I've got a petrol manual vrs
  3. Does anyone know if the gearbox in the 230 works in tandem with the trick suspension or are they independent of each other?
  4. Mine was garbage. I put a quick shift on it which made it loads better and more involving to drive (should have come out of the factory like this)1-2nd still felt notchie though.
  5. Sorry ment shims or hubcentric and are they on longer wheel bolts or bolted to the brakes type.
  6. Which spacers did you use as I've been looking and there's quite a choice. And did you have to drill into the sill for the skirts? Sorry for all the questions it's that I've just bought one and love the way yours sits
  7. Hi what size spacers are you using? And how easy was the side skirts to fit? Sweet car btw!
  8. LoL That's my other worry. This car has been ultra reliable I've had more problems with my new Alhambra. Honestly only thing that has broke was the engine mount everything else has been servicing. It was the same with my last skoda nothing ever went wrong and they both put a stupid smile on my face every time I drove em.
  9. I like the RS but would like something a little more low key as my car is abit shouty ATM (its in summer mode) as the car is red and I'm running 20" green Audi wheels. I like the leon but 300bhp is a lot in the wet to put down and would be the same with the VRS with a map. If the VRS was 4x4 i would buy that over all of them, but they only do it in diesel. I do like the golf as it's cheaper and been told it's more fun to drive than the s3 but the build on the s3 is really nice and also to be honest abit of snob value. When you say he was only getting 14 mpg was that giving it some or town driving?
  10. I've been toying with buying a new donkey for a while now. I've got a 56 plate vrs lightly modified with a facelift front end. It been the best car I have ever owned and has never cost me anything apart from an engine mount last week which ain't bad going for a 11 year old car. I fancy either a new VRS, Golf R, leon cupra 300 or an S3. The problem is I'm a bit unsure if I should I get rid of my VRS as it's been such good and reliable car and may regret my new car choice. If you were in my place which car would you go for and why??
  11. Them wheels work really well and the car is in the best colour. I wanted subtle but the child within want to relive my youth.
  12. Yeah I'm running ap coilovers and even with 20" on the ride better than my mates Leon cupra. Bmw supang bronze in Matt suited the zeniths if you wanted to play it safe but different. My Neptunes were done in Matt pearl brown. It's a petrol. Love those wheels dubbsley wot are they?
  13. Thanks vrsRo55 this is how she started life then I got board so started to play.
  14. http://rs1258.pbsrc.com/albums/ii532/redoctavia/Mobile%20Uploads/image_1.jpeg?w=480&h=480&fit=clip http://rs1258.pbsrc.com/albums/ii532/redoctavia/Mobile%20Uploads/image_2.jpeg?w=480&h=480&fit=clip Here's a coupe of mine I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but hay that's why we are all different
  15. I've just had the same problem replaced all bushes and the problem was still there. Convinced it was on my side of the car until I took one of the lads out and he said he could feel the noise coming from under his feet. Thought I would check the sub frame and it was moving about 3-4mm. There was a visible ware mark around the frame. Replaced the 2 centre bolts and placed a spacer kit in retightened all 6 bolts. Feels like a different car now.
  16. Redder wow loved your car!!!!!!!! Skoda should have done that colour from stock!!!!!!! Good show of cars today really impressed for a small show.
  17. It's bad enough I work for vauxhall never mind Renault! Lol. Looks like the safety catch worked there then!
  18. Sorry should have mentioned for all the prim and proper people that don't do owt wrong or mod there cars! That I have a steel braided tether as a backup!! Can't see the point of buying a nice grill just to cut a chunk out of it. The car has passed it's MOT with this on just incase you wondered. If your bonnet has flipped open must be down to not shutting the bonnet properly or poor workmanship from pre accident. In all my time in the trade I never had a car in for a bonnet catch that has failed and flipped open from factory! When they have failed it has always been in the LOCKED position. X
  19. Got one on mine. Just remove the safety catch off the bonnet. It's just 3 multi spline bolts.
  20. My bushes looked fine but were totally hammered when removed. Makes a nice difference when replaced
  21. Unfortunately not. You may get away with a flat down,re colour and lacquer. But really needs to be primed.
