Hi all trying to sort out my dimming screen on the bolero and think it could be down to pre F/L octavia missing 2 wires for the gateway. Would someone be so kind with a F/L octavia with a standard bolero take a photo of there multi plug to see what is missing. Im going on the fact that the pdc upgrade needs 2 extra wires running from the control box. Thanks in advance for any pictures.

Hi all can a bolero support a reversing camera or any visual feeds and is there a way of fitting an amp to this unit. As I want to keep it looking OEM inside. Thanks

Help me untangle my rod - which car to buy ?
B.DIFFERENT replied to Monkeyboyo's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I work for vauxhall and think that they are all crap. Most of us own a car from the vag group only the cheap skates have a vauxhall. They have lots of problems and most of them are expensive to repair. The latest was a 12 month old insignia having a s.rack, bottom arms and shocks as they were shot. Quality.......quality crap I would stay well away from the chicken badge. -
I've got ap's on n there comfort is better then oem, but the lower you go the firmer it gets. I've got mine quite low and when I took my mum out on a 400 mile round trip she said how comfy the car is, so they can't be that harsh. Another plus point is how much more planted the car feels on the motorway without making it a tiring drive.

Alarm - random activations caused by boot lid.....
B.DIFFERENT replied to Pete T's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Had the same problem with my pals octavia. Replaced all parts that were bolt on with no joy. Then adjusted t.gate and no joy so sat in the boot with the panel off and the boot down. Started squeezing the loom and the boot showed it was closed. The wire was broken in a strange place as there is no moving joints just cable tied to the frame. Hope this helps. -
Thanks sorted it. It was a broken rod on the front. Neighbours thought i was mad rolling about on the floor in the dark!

Are they on the bottom arm? A box with a little rod coming from it?

Started the car this morning and noticed that my lights did't auto set and the beam was pointing down in safe mode. Does anyone know of any commen faults or what it could be? I've checked fuse and thats ok so dont know what to look at next. The lights are OEM not after market. Thanks.

hi pal what have you got ur mits on now? I would have just bolted a couple more deckchairs in the back of the trani and just give it a wash. Hay ho a big cheap family bus that your daughter can play hide the shoe in the air vent!!!!!!

Hi I would recommend that you change them as I had to a week after fitting the coilovers. Yeah that cup is a pain in the ass. Don't know what others have done but I would have put abit of sealer on the base to stop it spinning when adjusting. I put about 10mm gap for a nice ride. I had it all on the bottom adjustment which was great until you came to a speed bump.

Replace suspension mounts?

I paid about £20 a drop link, haven't done arb bushes yet as I may just up rate both arb's instead. -
Replace suspension mounts?
B.DIFFERENT replied to Spongefactory's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I would also throw on some drop links and arb bushes on whilst its in bits. As it highlighted these when dropped. -
I would worry about the approved bit. Because as soon as it had some paint work done the dealer won't want to know if its in that area.

I'm running Ap coilovers and there's no difference in ride quality even with kids in. My mate is using H&R coilovers and there even a nicer ride. Would be a worth while investment imo.

Air Conditioning Problem
B.DIFFERENT replied to simmod00's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Why would you need to replace the drier???? Our air-con machine at work vacuum out the system ready for the new gas. If owt should be replaced I would have thought it will be all the O seals that would be going dry from lack of use. Can anyone educate me plz- 6 replies
