  1. Yes - noticeably more legroom for rear seat passengers in the new Kodiak... The new Superb seems to have shrunk a little in that department ( more space in the boot..) ...
  2. Looked in the brochures for dimensions but none exist... Compared to my (now old) Mark II estate, which I really need to replace as even Skoda keep telling me my car is ... old...... Has the rear passenger space, (again in the estate) been reduced in this model...? (I'll take me tape down the garage next time...) Looking at list price ( as against OTR) and metallic paint, a 1.5 SEL estate with no other options, just squeezes in under 40K..? Otherwise its an extra £2050 in road tax for the sake of a few quid... 😟 (or have I got that wrong)
  3. €67K..... as Eddie Murphy would say... get the f....... ... all the lettering and badges look super low quality... stops all that white worm I suppose.😀...... they seem to have cut as many corners as possible,,, did they take the ski flap out as it's in direct line of that over expensive i pad.... 2 meters of 4x2 from B&Q.. slide it through... ooops...ouch... .... talking of which ..... just how all that acreage of screen is considered safe to use whilst on the move, he couldn't get it to work whilst stood standing there...
  4. Sums it all up really in three sentences... The culture that perhaps brought us to Skoda in the first place is very much broken... I want to change my car and basically they don't want to talk to me... last correspondence was chasing a price... and that was last month. Perhaps my enquiry is still going from salesman to sales manager to sales managers manager to finance bod..... and back down the line.... can't anyone think for themselves anymore or are margins so so top secret......? Thing is that I have now discovered, its universal.... Hyundai - as in making an enquiry .. comes back an automated message - Dear 'surname'... (that sort of **** ceased when we left grammar school....) ... thanks for your enquiry - we will keep you informed... Do they really want £40-50K of my money or am I that much of a pain the ass... ( When it was £20K the service was so much better) ... or is it just another side affect from CV-19... 🤪 Must be me but I just get the feeling on visiting these sterile, clinical car sales rooms that ..... Never in the field of car sales was so little, done by so many... ( apologies to WSC..) If yer really clever of course, car sales showrooms are cheaper than Costa... Feel better now...
  5. How have they managed to get that ridiculous I pad (television) past the road safety bods…. Surely it must block the outward view for those who are vertically challenged and be somewhat distracting to the rest of us…
  6. That 13" i pad should be below the dashboard line.... Range Rover can do that so why cannot Skoda... The way its all being described... imagine trying to do that at 50mph.... yer see folks now on the Motorway veering all over the place fiddling with their screens... navigating trough all the fingerprints... Multi function knobs - no thanks... tempted to look at them if yer about to change something so eyes off the road... that's not good... Looks are very Marmite and for a Skoda fan its not producing the 'must have' juices.... Don't leave those ipad brackets in the car with folks in the back... looks down right dangerous.. Its gonna be 40K plus, especially with all those extra plastic liners... ( just speccing up a Superb the other day came to nearly 46 grand...) We (folks that buy) are keeping their motors longer - so a 3 year warranty really aint fit for purpose and with that i pad, yer gonna need warranty... Looks like it just might be Kia or if priced to see, the new Santa Fe for the next motor...... ( just for some protection when yer get Skoda drivers coming the other way in the middle of the road whilst trying to turn up the volume and turn down the heat...) 🤢
  7. Been well satisfied with both Superbs and Yeti… but the current bus is approaching 100K and that tax grabber Khan wants 12.50 to drive on his congested roads, so it’s time to change… If I stay with brand, and I do want to, then it’s either a Kodiak or Superb Estate and after 60-70 hours a week over the past 5/6 years… covid etc etc…. want to treat meself to something nice …. But just what is it with this fad to have 40-50K cars with a 500 quid ipad obscuring the view over the bonnet ( and I am 6’4) looking more like something that you really shouldn’t be looking at whilst driving along…. This appears to be the new standard on the above shortly to be released ‘facelifted’ models… Is it me as an old fart… or are these iPads the puppies parts and the best thing that ever happened..? Would appreciate any feedback… Perhaps it’s time to move up to a Q8…? hey ho….
  8. At 6'4 the Superb every time... and if SWMBO wants to drive I can sit in the back and stretch out.... most other cars it's like a sardine can in the back... Diesel was the king but politics have made them positively satanic - cannot comment on the petrol side of things ... DSG... Estate here - IKEA billy bookcases no problem... and if yer going on holiday, it all fits in the back without a squeeze....... Good value when going to the tip....... the problem comes in 'economy' car parks where the length of the thing - yer backside is always hanging out... Would I buy another - yes - although after two, most probably time for a change... would like to ride a little higher and higher motors are easier to get in and out of... If Skoda were really clever they would revamp the Yeti - make it look like a Defender and charge 50% less.... Octavia is basically an 80% sized Superb, but with better fuel consumption... smaller body, less to wash.... it should be less expensive... Wifey has a 1.5 SEL (Petrol) hatch and she loves it - much better than her old Focus,,,, and gets pretty much the same mpg as my 2.0 diesel ( unless I drive like a nun...)
  9. Was... as per a thread below.... Progress Skoda... How have folks taken to the change to Marshall Motor Group.......? Me.. Can't seem to get along with them at all.... perhaps its that I just don't fit their ideal customer in that I am an aged old fart, own my car outright and expect that when I do phone (x4) or email that one might get the courtesy of a reply. New cars - don't seem to be interested at all - Three times I have asked what the Kodiak is in the showroom as in diesel/petrol... price etc .... and each time I get a blank look... incredible... know your product don't exist anymore.... Pricing - Just don't go by the Skoda pricing on their website.. Skoda £100 per hour to investigate... Marshalls £150.00 an hour... ...and don't expect any form of transportation... courtesy cars.. not even a lift... not even an offer ... not even after spending £1,600 with them.... Hey ho... perhaps it's time for a change of motor then.... the difference when we popped into the local KIA garage was amazing.... just cannot get billy bookcases or even the grandkids pushchair in the back... ah well... See if they are any better tomorrow when I take it back to see if they can get the grease stain out of the beige leather...😡 V.Meldrew. 😕
