Hello again people, This time I am now the proud owner of a mark 1 Octavia VRS in black. Picked it up last Wednesday, though Barclays did their best to make the transaction near impossible. Must have done over 300 miles in it already and loving it (though I must say I feel used to the power already). I've posted a few questions on 'Octavia mark 1' forum and would appreciate any help with these. Thanks.

Hello there, Picked up my VRS last week and I'm well impressed. However, I have a few questions to ask you people that I don't seem able to find answers to in the manual. Firstly, do the doors double lock? I tried, but seem to have deactivated the immobiliser (no red light on driver's door lock). Got it back again with a single press. Is the red light on the radio also linked to the immobiliser or just radio security? The rear window lock (on driver's door panel) doesn't seem to work all the time. Is this common, or do I just need to give it time? Wing mirror adjustment switch: When I set it on 'R' it adjusts both mirrors at the same time. Is this normal? Found something about this in manual, but referred to 'L' setting. Does 'Auto' setting on climate control mean air con on, and 'Econ' air con off? Sorry to ask so many questions on my first post as a Skoda owner, but I've been a Toyota boy for so long I don't feel particularly confident about other makes. Hopefully, that will change. Hello there, and welcome from another new Octavia VRS owner. Well, actually I haven't picked mine up yet, as it's having cambelt and bits done. Out of interest, how much did you pay? I'd be interested to know, as mine is an 03 too, on 52k miles, and I paid £5495. A bit more than I intended, but I'm getting a few bits thrown in with the price. Hope it's as enjoyable to drive as yours seems to be!

Hello there, Having spent some considerable time debating whether or not to swap my beloved Celica I've finally gone and done it. I just missed out on a 'peach' of a Fabia VRS and after driving both this, the Octavia, and numerous others, I've finally taken the plunge. Problem is, though excited about this, I've been a Toyota boy for some time now and am having a few doubts that I've done the right thing. Hopefully when I pick up the black beast this week, my fears will vanish as I sink into those rather tasty black and white seats. I tried to haggle on the price, as I knew the dealer had had the car a while, but not much movement. Is £5495 a reasonable price for an 03 Octavia VRS with 52k on the clock, and a remap? Thanks for any correspondance.
