  1. I'm happy to be proven wrong! Go to your drive mode select screen and configure the individual mode. Does your screen have the 'front differential lock' adjustment option?
  2. That's the pre face lift as per my original post.
  3. All 230s have the E-diff and is different to the 'electro-mechanical' VAQ diff.
  4. OK!!! Was it an option then?
  5. The diff isn't supposed to improve traction off the line though!
  6. I don't believe any facelift 230 models have the VAQ diff. All 245 models have it. The pre facelift 230 has it. Manuals and DSGs have it. I recommend the electric / heated alcantara seats.
  7. The distance the feet can be apart is fixed by the roof rail isn't it? I realise the slightly increased load capacity of the wider bars is good, but they look a bit odd stuck out so far in my opinion. Mine measure 118cm (bar) and 123cm (bar with plastic ends). Still plenty of width for many Christmas trees!
  8. See, perfectly normal.
  9. The car overall though looks level and normal. My vRS has a larger arch gap at the front.
  10. I also can achieve mid 40s with the 245 estate when trying. Just don't attach a 1400kg caravan on the back... 16mpg is the lowest I've seen 😂
  11. I recognise your username from around 2005! I would add spacers at the rear of the PFL as the wheels are lost in the arch. Enjoy the car 👍
  12. Is it a warranty job? Mines done it since new.
  13. Embarrassingly, at that point I hadn't read your guide properly and hadn't removed the vertical window trim piece (mines an estate). This was a pain to remove due to one little plastic plug holding it on at the end. Anyway, removed it and did as you said using the blue wire from a piece of twin and earth. Job done 👍 I routed the cable as langers2k suggested which worked well for me. Another suggestion for forcing it though the gator - a tiny bit of washing up liquid to make it more slippery 😁 Thanks again for taking the time to post the guide. This will make hitching up the caravan much easier!
  14. Thanks for a great guide. But, how TF do you feed the cable down or up the boot lid?
  15. If you were talking about a 600bhp Audi RS6, or similar, I would agree on the 'can't use the power comment'. But it's a 2L family hatch / estate. It's not 'that' quick! Hope your Mrs enjoys the 118i 😉😁
  16. I purchased my 245 at 2 years old. Completely painless as already said and a competitive price. Its a great way of buying a used car that you've driven since new!
  17. Has anyone on here carried out the oil and filter change? I would personally prefer to do the research and do the job properly myself where there is apparent uncertainty at dealerships and possibly independents. Not knowing the arrangement, if it were to fail due to lack of servicing, what would be the effects? Loss of drive at all times? Or loss of functionality of the diff only?
  18. There's only 40 or 50 litres in it between the Octavia and Superb, so actual / usable space may be similar. Go to the dealers as already suggested.
  19. A feature of diamond cut alloys!
  20. The PFL mk3 looks odd with the rear wheels positioned so far into the arch. It looks like wheels with the wrong offset have been fitted, so I don't blame owners fitting them for aesthetics reasons alone. I'm thinking spacers could increase stability whilst towing. It's by no means bad currently, but when towing a relatively big caravan, I'll take any slight improvement!
  21. 20mpg. When towing nearly 1500kg 😀
  22. I don't have a Scout but can vouch for the general towing performance of the mk3. Mines a medium size caravan (1420kg max) and having loaded it correctly to achieve the 75kg nose weight, so far, I have had no stability issues.
  23. I rode past this car the other night! It's the proper launch 245 in the best colour. Get it bought
  24. Nice job. Out of interest what are you towing?
