  1. Admin delete this thread if you like. Just found this one which didn't come up in my original search and have matched disc size to the build code 310mm discs, non vented on mine
  2. Afternoon, I need to replace the rear pads on my 67 plate VRS est FL (245 but not challenge edition) Taking rough measurement of the discs (with wheel still on) im getting around 300mm diameter, seems a lot over the standard 272mm, so would you say i have 310mm discs? I thought they only came on the challenge version though
  3. Everything was there, nice and simple to remove and replace. On a side note. Wheels are now gleaming
  4. Must admit I haven't even checked. Hopefully that is the case!
  5. I want to do a really deep clean of my alloys tomorrow. However I have the 19" Extreme's and they come with black wheel nuts / bolts Am I likely to damage them with a normal socket? Is there anything you can do to avoid it, I was thinking of trying to put an old t-shirt that's quite thin into the socket to give it some padding.
  6. Cheers for that I've been working so much i havent had a chance to have a proper look yet but hopefully this weekend il have the free time Sounds like its going to be 2 new shocks, is it worth changing springs at the same time or will they generally be ok
  7. I haven't, il give it a try next time I'm outside Yeah, running the 19" extremes and pressures are all correct. I run them at the high end of the scale even when its just me in the car for 90% of the time
  8. I'm noticing more and more lately that when I have weight in the car the rear is very bouncy over undulations in the road and speed bumps. By weight, im talking a full car, ie 3 adults and 1 early teenager. I'm even starting to notice it when its just me and the missus and we've bought something heavy, such as compost bags for the garden Am i looking at rear springs, shocks or both? The car doesn't sit unevenly or sit particularly low that I can notice so I don't think anything is broken 2017 245 estate
  9. A similar thing happened to me not long after i bought my car. I was reversing up to a barrier and was roughly 6 foot away from it when all of a sudden the brakes slammed on with the tones going mad. To say i crapped myself was an understatement as i didnt know the system existed. (Much to the amusement of my mate who has the same in his Passat and experienced similar before) Anyway i got out of the car to find a weed that was growing out of a gap in the concrete that was exactly the height of and perfectly in line with one of the rear sensors! With the weed being so thin the sensor didn't pick it up until it was a few inches away i guess!?
  10. Has anyone found a way to reduce the few 'spikes' of raised light that can be see on the facing wall shots? I noticed my car has a couple of these. Id like to raise my beams very slightly but a bit concerned that these would then end up shinning directly into peoples eye line. Very good comparison shots btw
  11. Wasn't aware of this, i'll have a look when I'm next in the car. That may solve my problem by making it non existent.
  12. Sort of, i did see that thread when searching. It does show some clip positions in the last picture but no explanation of the best way to release it. As the OP in that thread states, its on there so solidly i feel like I'm going to break something trying to remove it
  13. Evening all, Has anyone got any experience of removing the trim behind the rear view mirror, its on a mk3 FL. I have looked at a few threads about this buy everyone else's looks different I have tried popping it off but it feels very securely fitted and I don't want to break any clips etc. I have got a new dash cam for xmas and want to install it. However it looks like the previous owner didn't have a nextbase cam, so i have had to buy the little adapter that you can see to fit my nextbase. Before installing i also want to move the cable to the other side so the dashcam sits behind the mirror on the passenger side out of my line of sight, hence the reason for removing the panel to re route the cable Can anyone shed any light as the best way to get this off?
  14. Maybe slightly off topic, but rather than starting another thread... Is there any way to search for stations that don't show up in the DAB list on the head unit. I have had a work car and a work van since buying my octy, and both of those pick up stations on DAB that the octy doesn't, even when parked next to each other! (No dash cam fitted by the way)
