I was browsing the Halfords near to the garage i'd dropped the car off at, and was looking at the oils and noticed that the Halfords own brand oil no longer stated 505.01. I had to double check, yes i was looking at the right ones it was labeled as a 5-40 semi but just not to VW specs.
They are still selling the stuff right?

My quote at the time from elephant of a standard vrs was 350, when i mentioned 'chip' and 'remap' they refused. Then got it at 550 so went up 200 due to the superchip fitted.

Is there anyway of getting rid or at least trying to cover up scratches on the windscreen. I think the local cats have been climbing over the car, i'm sure theres paw prints into the dirt on the bonnet and there a lots of scratches on the glass.
Is there any thing/ one who can help???

I Have tried to read all of Ross's site, that only talks about later platforms. But the status test tells me CAN interface works, and there is a CANBUS module detected when searching for all modules.

I'm kinda hoping someones done something similiar or at least now how to do it. I have a Sony HU but was thinking how to hook up my mp3 player, a Creative Zen V+. Now it seem relatively simple to hook it into the AUX port with a 2 x phono to 3.5mm headphone plug but was thinking if it would be possible to have it powered via its USB plug? Surely not everyone as an ipod!
Do HU have power take-offs? A ciggy-socket USB adapter would be useful...

I bought the key series version of the cable for my 04 fabia thinking that was all i needed but it tells me i have a can bus as well when checking the status.
So what are the differences between the k-line method and the can-bus system? Am i able to see all of the modules or can you only see some via each method?

I've been getting a droning noise when driving at around 40mph for a while now but been noticing that is getting louder. I suspect its the one of the rears as I was parking it on the drive way but the kurb wasnt dropped along the full length so was hitting the full height kurb with one of my rear wheels.
Basically i'm half way between services and was weghing up if i can leave it till then or if its going to catestrophically going to break sending a wheel down the road!
Ive not been able to physically check to see if the wheel moves as where i now live the grounds a bit rough and covered in gravel.

Do all anti virus programmes have to run in the back ground?
I'm looking for one i can run when i want to check the whole drive. I dont want anything running in the background while i work.

Was looking on topgear.com and found this in the news section. Its a shell ad featuring various ferrari F1 cars of the ages driving through the streets of various cities around the world. The audio is to die for...

OK ta.
Err what about suspension alignment, are you able to re-adjust/check it after fitting?
It could do with a check anyway to be honest, would be nice to have the steering wheel pointing the correct way!

Simple answer is to treat it properly in the first place! What do you mean in low revs?
Ive had my clutch slip only a few times and that was when i was trying to boot it so revs around 2-2.5. Interestingly the last time was when i put the stock air filter back in and at about 80mph on the motorway. But i dont intend to change it until it happens more frequently. You do have to change your driving style and rev it a bit more. Dont ever floor it under 2k in high gears.
Err, warranty work on the clutch? would it not be classed as wearable item, like brake pads?

Ah Ha! thanks Luke.
Hmm...
Give me a few days... a week maybe to get my finger out and ring the insurance people.
Err.. whats the official drop in height of the springs? and is that against the standard fabia or the vrs which is already lower than standard????

I though the foam pipercross ones do still need some sort of cleaning? I thought i same some sort of cleaning/ filter type spray on there site?
-
I think you have to be careful in buying the right ones. The common type of torx have 6 lobes and the anti-tamper version have a small pip in the middle to stop people using the standard ones. But they also do a 5 lobed security version which i've found they used to hold the MAF in.
I've searched online and have found loads of places that sell the normal and security versions of the 6 lobed one. I have not found anywhere selling the 5 lobed version.

Are you guys able to offer the koni fsd dampers for the fabia? Its just You dont mention them on your site.
Am looking at getting those and the eibach springs fitted to my car, can you help? Any ideas on price?

Hi guys,
I am ready to uprate the suspension on my car but would be looking for someone else to fit it for me. Does anybody know of a suitable company typically around the Beds, Bucks regions?
I'd rather find a nearby company than have to travel halfway across the country!

Hi,
Could you give me the price for the Koni FSD dampers and Eibach springs please? I wonder if you could give me an estimate for fitting them as well?
Would like to get the suspension done and an uprated clutch fitted as my oe one is now starting to slip occasionally, not too bad having done 63k!
Thanks

Hi,
Are those prices for the parts only?

I was wonder how people are finding the eibach/FSD combo after so long?
Having read this thread several times it seems the FSD's arnt specifically designed for the vRS but for the whole fabia range. So is this noticeable on the heavier vRS?
-
Was only repeating what had been said! Ive had GS-D2's on the car for a while now and would definately go for them next time.
Currently got T1-Rs on the front, after picking up a puncture in the continentals i'd bought 6 months ago. After reading alot of good things about them a while ago about being really grippy, i've found them to be fairly hard, but keep there profile better than the continentals with the weight of the engine on them.

I know everybody seem to rave about the rear ARB mod but as a means of improving a soft, underdamped front heavy car i'm not convinced. I was hoping for adjustables so i have an alternative when i pick it up from the garage who fitted it and realise its not for me as I go over a stone and wince!
But it looks as the the FSD's are a good comprimise between oem and the eibach dampers.

Havent some people said the goodyear eagles have got a soft side wall?
-
I'd suggest people look in the technical guides section as it details how to clean the maf sensor.

There is so many clips holding it to the gimbal that you need to really lever it off. Make sure your wearing gloves though! Because it tends to break even more. Thought it was the same for all mirrors, the end of it on the vrs is supposed to be wide angled.

I remember reading somewhere, it might even have been in a car handbook that the 30 or 40 as in 0w-30 related to a max ambient temperature!
I suppose its a simple means of explaining it even if its a bit out!
