  1. Hello all, Have any of your guys had this problem before?... When starting from cold, my coolant level light and alarm starts going off, every time I start from cold... and its getting anoying now! First time this happened, I turned it off and popped the bonnet to check the level, which was fine, has been for ages, and level has never dropped. I've also had the water pump changed within the last 6 months along with the cam belt etc, so there should be no warn parts here to cause any fluid loss. It started off doing this in my drive, which is on a slope and I though it might be the water being tilted away from the sensor pins in the header tank, which made sense untill it started doing it on level ground at work when starting from cold... When you turn off and re-start once its warmed a little, even after running for a couple of minutes, its fine, no warnings. My thought at the moment, is a faulty sensor in the header tank, but before going to get it checked out / buying a new one; I thought I would ask on here, in case its a known fault? Thanks for reading, hope to get this sorted soon!
  2. I should be ok for any of those days, & any time; so I'l let you guys choose. I'l keep an eye out on here to see whats going on

  5. Looks a clean car, and a fun car to have! Welcome to Briskoda!
  6. I had my timing belt done a couple of weeks ago, along with having the revised metal water pump fitted by JKM Performance, Portsmouth. I would recomened them, a good job & fair price of £309. I know they are not near you BOB69VRS, but it gives you an idea of what to expect to pay. Advantage of also using a garage rather than doing the job your self, you have some come back if you have any problems...
  7. Slightly different car I know, but its the same with mine. I was told by Skoda's that the cam belts on the Octy 1 vrs are due every 4 years, or 112,000! Bit of a random schedule, 112k is a lot to cover in 4 years...
  8. Breakfast club sounds good, but I can't make the 6th Dec, so maybe next time.. If the Churchillian is still on for the 29th Nov, I'l be there!

  13. Great work, a good read! Thanks for the mention of my car, No72! I too have been searching for some history on these, and have found very little information out there. Thanks, Matt
  14. Hi there, The car had the graphics removed by the previous owner, all except the green on the bumpers. I will try & add the car to the owners register on here. I've sent an email to superchips, who claim can add 38bhp to a standard car... we'l see...
  15. Hi there, I'm a fairly new member, having just brought an 02 plate octavia wrc. Mine is number 72, out of the hundred made, has been well looked after by its one previous owner who has just turned 70!! Only 33k on the clock, so lots of life left in it! I've been trying to find out some history on this car, some of which I've found... The car was re-mapped by Skoda's when new, and on a power run has shown 197bhp at the wheels, so not bad. Has any one had any luck with these re-maps that claim to get you nearer the 220 / 230 bhp mark? If so, let me know what you went for. From some of the bad reports I've read, I'm tempted to leave it alone... I'm based near Portsmouth, in Hampshire, any of you guys near by?... Thanks for reading, and I look forward to seeing what some of you guys have to say. Matt
