  1. in a word yes

the 288mm discs on the VRS go with the different VRS hubs, and these will take the 312mm (TT and other VAG cars) brakes as a straight swap, but the calipers and carriers need upgrading as the 288mm calipers and carriers don't fit.

I do not know if the calipers and carriers from the 256mm set up will fit on the 288mm discs from the VRS, but my guess is not.

  2. Hopefully a simple question;

whats the smallest sized wheel that a set of standard 288mm vRS brakes will fit under? I have a 1.4 with 256(?)mm at the minute, and 14 inch rims and am hoping the 288's will fit under 15 inch wheels as then the insurance don't need to know. :)

The other thing, would it be ok to put the old 14inch wheels on the back while the tread wears down, if I have 15/16 inch wheels on the front?

    Thanks,

    Joe:)

    Just a quick point.

You do know you will need new hubs and wheel bearings to fit the 288mm brakes don't you?

  4. I was using a belkin fm transmitter ( agood one, not cheap end), which was fine in my Audi A3, but didn't work anywhere near as well in the Fab.

The MS402 the car came with has no in for a cd changer for an aftermarket ipod connector to emulate to, so i needed a new head unit anyway, and i like the OEM look. The decison was then do I spend out on a denison or similar and have a brodit/dashmount bracket on display (my glove box is always full of stuff - two kids, and the beauty of the belkin is i can stash both it and the ipod in the underseat drawer i added under the driver's seat) or get a 6 cd changer that hides away under the seat (or boot - still not decided where to fit it).

The changer won on price and sound quality, as although i have a 80gb classic with lossless files, it still isn't up to cd quality.

Plus if Santa is really nice I can always add the denison kit later as well as the changer

Whoops, hijacked your thread a bit there:O

  5. It's going to misbehave for a while until the petrol in the tank is diluted away. GIve it some diesel every day, as the more diesel you put in the more dilute the petrol becomes.

Also drive it "un-economically" if that makes sense, so you get rid of the tank of contaminated diesel sooner rather than later.

  6. Did this on my leon cupra r last year and No leaks at all. the picture shows that they run the sealent around without lifting the carrier away very poor job as you expect from garages/dealers!!!

All you got to do is take out all the bolts around the carrier apart from the top row pull the carrier away carefully clean the contact area with solvent and put a big bead off clear silicone sealant in between the seal and the door and bolt it back up with the sealent still wet. Wipe away excess and let dry.

    Easy job and no leaks!!!

So long as it is not a newer model, where the carrier is rivetted in

  7. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone's address, phone number, D.O.B, or, more importantly, anyone's actual bank so your porn name's entirely useless to me as a means of fraud.

On the other hand, if everyone could just fill in the blanks above

So far there's been some good 'uns and some total wash outs – Thai Delights III starring ERIC LUSBY, anyone?

I did say I would only get fluffing duties with that name:eek:

  8. Or it could be something stuck in the spring or wheel arch, or the wheel arch liner could be loose.

It could also be a broken spring, that only moves under load.

Get the wheel off and have a good look around (comparing it to the other side for reference) Check the wheel and tyre for any rub marks to discount that and then give the hub a damned good yank about to see if there is any play in it.
