Tech1e, just catching up with this project log. Amazing work. Question. Are you Ross from the MK4 Astra days? If so, good to come across you again.
I have another question, we've just ordered a new Fabia, but I also have a 6j SEAT Ibiza (MY62). How much of the things you've done here are similar to that (ie, removing and washing the seat covers, etc?). I'm dying to refresh it to a later Ibiza 6J dashboard, and possibly add a few things like rear sensors, folding mirrors, etc.
I am indeedThe seats etc are the same in principal, they go together in much the same way.

Hi Ross!
Sorry for my tardiness! Nope, I'll still be coming to you. Just with it needing to be on a Saturday, it's been difficult finding the time 😞
I'll get there! In the next month or all being well! Sorry again
No need to be sorry, I was genuinely interested to see if you had it done by a dealer is all. -

Oh aye in the grand scheme its nothing lol! Just that the skoda dealers 20mins away have quoted £390 all in. I'd be paying the same essentially, plus the 5 hours of travelling. It's a shame because i probably trust you more than the dealers haha!
Did you get it fitted by the main dealer in the end? Everything go OK? I would assume it did. -

Hi All Does anyone know if this chap is still doing this/who he is? Just gotten a MK1 VRS for my son, and will need one of these when we change the head unit.
Many thanks

And what you recommend for the halfshaft?

factory shafts from Ibiza FR, Polo GTI.- 1

And somehow i can use the auq gearbox?
Maybe if i create a new console for the fabia holder?
yes you will have to widen the bracket.- 1

Factory 1.8t auq gearbox.
Ah that’s why then. The Octavia uses an 02J and the Fabia an 02R. The 02J is wider at the end case where the mounting goes. -

Hey guys!
I started a 1.8t project on my fabia, and i stuck a little bit.
Anyone can help me a little?
So my biggest problem is the gearbox holder, because i can't fit my own holder, and i don't know, what holder should i use.
And i have one more, the halfshafts.
1.4 halfshaft are shorter than the octavia shafts, and i can't fit the swingarm.
I tried replacing the outer wrist, but it's too long yet.
Anyone can help me?
I really want to make my love running, with an 1.8t.
And sorry for my bad english, but i'm living in hungary, and i can't speak properly.
What gearbox are you using?- 1

Just go straight to the engine ECU and the other is just an ignition live. You don’t need to worry about the nodes

Questions:
- Is this the correct diagram for my vehicle? and am I reading it correctly?
- Where do the three connections heading for the main wiring harness (B279 & B441) connect to?, I can't see any pin designations.
- At T41a/31 the diagram doesn't indicate what diode I need but should I just assume anything that can handle 12v?
@Tech1e having done this before, is this accurate? Anything I'm missing?
1 - Yes, that looks correct to me.
2 - they aren't terminals, they are a connection (node joint) inside the vehicle harness.
3 - Yes, I would presume so. I haven't made a loom myself for the MK2 before, I always bought them rather than mess around.

Thanks for the pics, the one with wiper stalk attached deffo looks like the one in our car.
I think i'd seen another thread somewhere that suggested this new style only came in on later models 2012 or 2015+
more incorrect info 😫
I'll have a rummage under the dash soon to see what I can find on the control unit and let you know 👌
You will still need the wiring harness anyway.

Hey thanks, and sorry for the blind tag.
I'm hoping to DIY this as much as possible.
Am I able to check what unit I have currently and if it will support cruise?
Are you able to link the correct part and or no. for a mk2?
The listing does have the mk2 specified under 'suitable vehicles' but I know these are not always correct.Cheers, Wez.
Need to have a look up under the dash above the throttle pedal and see if the control unit (square black box) is labelled with a part number 6Q0 or 6Q1.
Various switches are available, it's not a one fits all. Need to work it out off your chassis number.
You can see the differences in the switches and why they are different.
MK1
MK2

On the MK2 Fabia you need to install a wiring harness and run it through to the engine control unit.
Also requires the correct central electrics control unit on the car to enable CC.
...and the switch you linked is for a MK1 not MK2.
Cruise control would be £240 supplied and fitted.

I assume you have tried it when you are actually moving?

2021 update
OK, so slow progress for many reasons, but still tinkering with this one.
Believe it of not, the engine is actually in the hole..
Fluids going in...
Nice shiny mounts and solid shifter cable bushings..
Air intake and shield
Interior back out as laying in the full Ibiza harness for total integration
Kinda looking the part now.
Cruise control (of course)
Climatronic heating system in place and heated seat harness fitted
One day it will be done, just don't ask me which one.
