  1. Yes ironically this was a lease vehicle and was due to have been returned when the fault occurred. It was on an informal PCH extension as going back ~Feb 2026 now since it was a good deal. And for us there ends the letter to the Petrol engine after 3 Octavias as we move into EVs now. Been good cars apart from this hiccup which I'll put down to messing with a petrol engine rather than going full EV (wife's MG5 is so much nicer to drive even than a DSG and rock solid so far)
  2. Incase useful for others, this issue was solved by Skoda with 48V battery replacement. Some goodwill if just out of warranty (from Skoda UK, not the dealership).
  3. Yes I meant smartphone battery is a bit off topic 😊
  4. The phone battery has modules which are not replaceable. Off topic this. I will liaise with mild hybrid specialist in first instance. Just wondered if other has similar experience, but perhaps not.
  5. Skoda say it's the 48v faulty. The 12v is fine so they say. No a 48v lithium battery is not too small for modules. Even your smartphone battery has modules.
  6. Skoda want to replace the 48V battery at £1676.04 "No power: done gff and followed test plan found 48 volt battery defective and needs to be replaced as first point of repair." Anyone any advice on this? I would expect a battery specialist to test and replace a faulty lithium module for example. Not sure why Skoda can't do that. If anyone has been through similar do let me know. Cheers
  7. 2022 SKODA OCTAVIA EST 1.0TSI E-TEC SE 5DR DSG Vehicle broke down whilst driving, complete loss of drive, with 12V, 48V, driveshaft and assorted assistance system errors. AA diagnosed issues with the charging of 12V battery/alternator charging system. 12/48V errors have come and gone a few times (intermittent errors) but the driveshaft/loss of power is the next stage it seems when 12V falls too low. Now with Skoda for diagnostic and repair. If you have experienced similar, let me know the resolution. Cheers.
  8. Not sure if there is any further info on this topic as I am seeing this in my 2022 Octavia 1.0 mild hybrid Error: 12 V supply. Stop vehicle safety Error: 48 V supply. Stop vehicle safety Error: start/stop system Error: Drive system. Please visit workshop It is intermittent. Last time it happened I thought it was due to too quickly cycling the ingition on-off-on. I called recovery (as was in motorway services with whole family) but by the time they arrived all errors were cleared. AA ran their checks and all reported ok. Recently it happened again after just turning the ignition on once normally when leaving the house. The next time I drove all faults cleared. Clearly something is up, but unsure of severity. Red triangles and 'Stop Vehicle!' and audible bleeps can't really be ignored. Out of warranty now but it's a lease car and will go back early next year. Fingers crossed for pickup I guess.
  9. I just had same issue. On ignition I see this message then click OK and I just see the clock - system is dead and Home and Menu buttons do nothing. Resetting it by holding power fixed it. I assumed maybe it was due to extreme heat we have in UK but sound more like a dodgy update.
  10. So, I managed to arrange for Skoda to pickup my old lease car and drop the new lease one off same day. 4 days later they took another payment for the old car. I now find myself paying for both cars, even though one has been collected. Called vwfs and they said... oh it takes time...we will refund you...don't worry. 3 weeks on and still no paperwork received to close down the old car. Plenty of paperwork for the new car though. If I go to Skoda FS login I see both cars there, and next month payment on a car I don't have anyone if fast approaching again. Do I just canel the direct debit or what? Then they'll no doubt say they can't refund me. Not been through this before. I guess many on here are more familiar with lease changeovers? Thanks
  11. After playing around a bit it is working now on a lead, but my wireless charger isn't working reliably. Anyone use one they can recommend (that fits in that rectangular space)? Thanks
  12. My new Octavia just came and it now has 2 usb-c connectors. Even with engine running the phone wired in doesn't indicate it's charging properly (only indication is a notification to say charging via usb if I pull down the notifications menu). When plugged into mains charger the battery symbol changes and it gives time to full charge, but not in car. Suggests low current charging perhaps. Also, I notice Android Auto now connects wirelessly, which I great, but ideally would need a plug in wireless charger now. Took the wireless charger I use in the house and plugged it into those usb-c ports but no joy. Any comments or recommend a charging mat that works and fits in that rectangular space (Octavia SE DSG e-tech estate 1.0) Sure in the old car I plugged the phone it and it sprang to life charging properly but no more.
