  1. I just had same issue. On ignition I see this message then click OK and I just see the clock - system is dead and Home and Menu buttons do nothing. Resetting it by holding power fixed it. I assumed maybe it was due to extreme heat we have in UK but sound more like a dodgy update.
  2. So, I managed to arrange for Skoda to pickup my old lease car and drop the new lease one off same day. 4 days later they took another payment for the old car. I now find myself paying for both cars, even though one has been collected. Called vwfs and they said... oh it takes time...we will refund you...don't worry. 3 weeks on and still no paperwork received to close down the old car. Plenty of paperwork for the new car though. If I go to Skoda FS login I see both cars there, and next month payment on a car I don't have anyone if fast approaching again. Do I just canel the direct debit or what? Then they'll no doubt say they can't refund me. Not been through this before. I guess many on here are more familiar with lease changeovers? Thanks
  3. After playing around a bit it is working now on a lead, but my wireless charger isn't working reliably. Anyone use one they can recommend (that fits in that rectangular space)? Thanks
  4. My new Octavia just came and it now has 2 usb-c connectors. Even with engine running the phone wired in doesn't indicate it's charging properly (only indication is a notification to say charging via usb if I pull down the notifications menu). When plugged into mains charger the battery symbol changes and it gives time to full charge, but not in car. Suggests low current charging perhaps. Also, I notice Android Auto now connects wirelessly, which I great, but ideally would need a plug in wireless charger now. Took the wireless charger I use in the house and plugged it into those usb-c ports but no joy. Any comments or recommend a charging mat that works and fits in that rectangular space (Octavia SE DSG e-tech estate 1.0) Sure in the old car I plugged the phone it and it sprang to life charging properly but no more.
  5. Hi, I'll be leasing an Octavia (se tech.) in a few months. Does anyone know where I can get some cheapish seat covers which are also tailored/semi-tailored? Just want something simple but with a snug fit so they aren't noticeable. Thanks
  6. My 1.8TSI (59-reg FL) will do 45-50mpg on 10 mile mostly motorway commute. But them I'm not usually in any rush to get to work. I have found with this TSI engine mpg really is driving-style dependant. It'll do 30mpg if I race to work.
  7. I crunched my wing mirror on the garage, dealer quoted hunderds for a new mirror. On closer inspection is was just the cover and indicator that needed replacing. I got the parts from http://www.skodaparts.com/ (about £50 in total). I just had to spray it up because its colour-coded. Easy to fit.
  8. Thanks for the help. I see skodaparts.com have it (thanks KBPhoto, I should have googled "skoda parts" rather than "skoda wing mirror"!) never needed parts until now, Thanks!
  9. Due to my garage being in a different place to where I left it <cough> I'm looking for just the color-coded plastic wing-mirror cover, N/S (2009 face-lift model). A look online suggests lots of Mk1 covers around, but not Mk2 2009 FL. Any ideas where to get one or is it a call to dealer parts? Skoda have already said they can do it all for £360 (when the car was in for a service), but thats a full wing-mirror replacement of course...and new door I would have hoped I just need the cover (and possibly the LED section). Thanks.
  10. Had a Blade Bristol service and they tried to sell me two unnecessary tyres, reporting them as illegal (tread depth) and dangerous (due to deep cuts to cord) on both tyres. I used their 'collect and deliver' service, so I wasn't physically present at the garage. I was suprised when I got a call from them during the service as I usually keep half an eye on the tyres. I didn't get them replaced then and there over the phone as I wanted to see for myself first (even though they made it sound like a death trap...) I couldn't see anything wrong when I got the car back. I gave Blade the benefit of the doubt and the next day had them checked at an independant tyre place. They were both safe and legal. Bit dissapointed by that.
  11. My 1.8TSI has done 24,000 miles (1.5yrs old) , used about 1 litre. I find the oil stays level for ages and then suddenly its drops.
  12. Thats exactly what I've done. I get it now. The 370 is the days to next service, which is every 2 years (and mines 1 year old). I would have thought they would only display the relevant one (in my case miles). Cheers.
  13. Hi, My first service is coming up and my dashboard display briefly changes to show the following when I start the engine (displayed for about 5 seconds): 1. Spanner symbol showing miles to go until service. This is at the very bottom of the display. It currently reads "800". 2. A number next to a clock symbol in the main body of the display. What is this figure? The manual hints that its the number of days to go until service, and I think it is reducing by 1 every day. Trouble is the figure is currently "370", so that can't be right?! I'm doing ~20 miles per days on a commute so its not like I'm doing very low mileage making it think it will take me 370 days to do 800 miles! Cheers, Mark.
