Well, I've come to the conclusion that as long as I don't drive live an octogenarian towing a trailer full of fat pigs to market, or a 14 year old South London hoodie car thief on crack, then I shouldn't worry too much about just driving it like I'd drive any other (second hand) car I've ever owned

Well we've gone for a couple of options: I think the panoramic roof gives a very nice light and airy feel to the vehicle which I'm sure we'll appreciate on our summer jaunts through France/Switzerland. If you live in a heavy traffic area like we do then I reckon the park assist (which I understand includes front/rear parking sensors) is going to be handy when we have to get parked quickly with buses/taxis/couriers/police/armed robbers up our backside, especially if one's spatial awareness is a bit iffy like my other half's (her admission, not mine!)

Just been given a build date of week 12 (22nd March) and a delivery date of approx. 3 weeks after that. I think I'm going to find the waiting unbearable!

Hi all, I'm awaiting delivery of a Yeti 1.2TSI DSG (Elegance, Muscavado). Not only is this the first Skoda I'll ever have owned, but the first time I've ever bought a brand new car. So, I have a very newbie 2-part question to ask; is it true that brand new cars require a running in period, and if so, why? I have Googled this topic and opinions seem to be divided, so I thought I'd ask you folks for your thoughts too.

Ah right. Wondered if they might have run a few up for dealers and so on before they went on "general release" kinda thing.

Whoa, hang on a minute. I've got a 1.2 TSI DSG (Elegance) in Muscavado on order as well! I'll ring the dealer today and let you know what's going on with mine. When we placed the order last December we were giving an estimated delivery of first week of April. By the way, did either of you guys actually manage to get a test drive in an auto? I couldn't seem to find when to test when I was looking, so test drove a 1.2 manual and bought one on the strength of it. would be interested in feedback on the auto if you have any.
