After ordering my VRS on the 29th January I thought the day would never arrive. However after hearing nothing for weeks I was finally contacted last Tuesday (13th April) saying the car was due in very soon and to nip in and sort out registration and signing of finance documents etc I went in last night and the car had arrived so I got to have a look at it. Basically it should be ready to collect early next week so its time to start getting excited again. I know I've seen something in the posts before but is there any common issues (damage during transport etc) that I should look out for when I go to pick it up. Looking forward to some happy motoring but I'm still a little pensive about losing the Leon. I will especially miss the electric wing mirrors. I know some forums were on about tyres and I noticed that it has Continentals on. Cheers

I ordered mine on the 29th Jan and have only had one phone call and no e-mails. The phone call was to tell me that the salesman I dealt with was no longer with the company and that I hadnt been forgotten about. They also expected to get the car the sceond week in April but I've heard nothing since. Not impressed. :wonder:

When I was looking at purchasing a VRS in January I queried how long it would take to get it. I was told that I would receive it in time for the new reg coming out in March so I ordered one (Jan 29th) As yet I have had no information back regarding anything so my initial Skoda experience has not been positive so far. Lets hope that changes when (and if) I ever get a new car.

Hopefully soon to be 3 in the not-too-distant future. We're taking over...

I think it was a 58 plate. (just trying to recall when I saw it) I think it was around the junction of New Hall Lane heading towards the Holiday Inn around 4 ish last Friday.

In the Preston area I finally spotted my first one the other night......a blue one. Still waiting for info on when mine will be arriving. I ordered it on the 29th Jan but not heard anything since.

Hopefully. I've been looking out for any Skoda's around town but so far, apart from Taxi's, I havnt seen very many. Mind you, once I get mine I'll be spotting them everywhere :yes:

Yes, it was from Simpsons It seemed like a pretty good deal to me. VRS Petrol in race blue with spare wheel, auto dimmer, maxi-dot and rear parking sensors.....£17000 OTR We went through all the options about 3 times with the dealer and it is all written down on the receipt I have so it should all be fine. I will double check all the options on delivery, which, I've been told, should be about March. I'll investigate all the detailing options further. Thanks for all the good advice.

I was also offered Autoglym Life to 'protect' the car. I'm pretty sure this is a waste of money but it got me thinking :- Is it worth getting the car detailed and protected. If so when is it best to do this and can anyone recommend a good detailer in the Preston area.

I finally took the plunge and ordered a VRS TFSi on Friday to take advantage of the o% finance. I was torn between the race blue and the white but in the end went for the blue. They did have a white one that had just been delivered which I thought looked pretty impressive. The only sticking point was that they couldnt do the black wheels. After that it was a no-brainer. Race Blue it is. My only worry at the moment is that I wont enjoy the car as much as my Leon Cupra R. Thats been a great car, but after 5 years and a good offer from Skoda means its time for a change. One thing I found dissapointing is that you cant pick electric door mirrors as an option. i will miss those. Now I just have to wait and hope I've made the right decision....

Did you have a problem with Simpsons ? That is where I will be heading in a couple of hours or so. As for colour.......race blue, unless they will paint the wheels black for nothing..in which case white may work as more affordable

Thanks everyone for completely confusing me. :wonder: It appears as though I need all the extras. The Xenons sound like they may be useful as we have a bad Kangaroo problem in Preston at this time of year And dont get me started on the Wilderbeast........

I was actually looking at getting the Auto Dimming and MDI options. My current car stereo allows me to plug in an ipod and control it with the head unit. I was hoping the MDI would allow me to do this for cheaper than buying a new stereo. As for the Auto Dimmer I'm not entirely sure how it would be helpful but it sounded good. Would anyone say that either the Auto Dimmer and MDI are worth the cost. If not I could avoid these and opt for the Xenons.

If I need front parking sensors I might as well order a new driver while I'm at it. I would like to think I should be able to judge the front of the car. (Famous last words. Expect a thread on how to fix front bumpers in the near future)

I'm currently sifting through the options for my 'soon-to-be-ordered' VRS I was just wondering if the xenon lights are really worth the additional £600. It seems a bit steep but I've never had them before so would be interested in what people make of them. Also I will be getting the MDI. In the brochure it states that it also needs an adapter. Is this a special adapter or is this something that can be purchased cheaper from elsewhere.

Although, personally, I would be tempted by the sprint yellow finish there is a good chance I may get disowned White would probably be risky enough. I'll ask at the dealer and see what their options are regarding black alloys. If they dont or wont do them then I will stick with the racing blue. I get the feeling I will be happy with it either way. Has anyone got a sprint yellow car with black alloys ? Out of interest does the racing blue suite black alloys ? I suspect not.
