  1. I'd better get some of these changes finished before the meet - else I'll be there in half a car! Sent from my S5 using Tapatalk
  2. Like I said - mk2 Octy vRS TDI. All boxes ticked. Want more carrying capacity? Go estate. Done. Sent from my S5 using Tapatalk
  3. Octy vRS TDI. Job done. Sent from my S5 using Tapatalk
  4. The missus has got colitis and had to get a stoma last year. She's doing really well now though. If you need any info let me know. As for everyone else, you should consider the fact that maybe you don't have irritable bowel but possibly misdiagnosed crohns or colitis. The missus was insistent for ages that she just had irritable bowel, up to the point it flared up so badly she needed an operation. If you've got concerns, as uncomfortable as a rectal camera might be it is extremely effective in ruling out anything more serious. Sent from my S5 using Tapatalk
  5. Where'd you get the gloss one from? Sent from my S5 using Tapatalk
  6. Ouch. Not fun is it mate? Sent from my S5 using Tapatalk
  7. Knee op? Reconstruction or clean out? I remember having mine done - felt like the 6 million penny man with the knee brace on! Sent from my S5 using Tapatalk
  8. Red calipers wouldn't put me off if I knew who had been working on it, just shows you have been taking care of it. Sent from my S5 using Tapatalk
  9. And the next step in my 1.2 journey is... And so now I don't have to make do with rubbish oem snorkle and instead can get some decent airflow to the filter box! Huzzah! I'll get some pictures when it goes in. Sent from my S5 using Tapatalk
  10. Could you not get the lease company to agree to do the replacement head unit work at a dealer? Just a thought. Sent from my S5 using Tapatalk
  11. I think not tinting the windows but blacking out the lights wouldn't look right personally, but each to their own. Photoshop is your friend. ;-) Sent from my S5 using Tapatalk
  12. If you're going for blacking it, go all out. Leave the roof, blackout the windows, the lights, the grille, and the wing mirrors. Then consider the roof last. That way you get the most done without possibly doing a mod that you might want to undo that is expensive. The other mods in that list you'll probably never want to undo! 13. Spot on. Name and praise! Sent from my S5 using Tapatalk
  14. Not a motor issue if they work when the key is in... suspect switch or wiring issue. Possible water ingress into wiring loom or broken cable. Best to get the wires continuity tested and visual checked for any sign of corrosion. If it's not obvious after that point, could be the control module at fault. Let us know how it goes but my money is on wiring and possible water ingress if none of the switches work but bringing them down from the key works. Sent from my S5 using Tapatalk
  15. Bad hubs can kill bearings and discs pretty sharpish, exhibiting exactly the same results you're seeing... ...Not saying it's definitely the case but after 2 sets of discs/pads I replaced the hubs and - voila. Gone. I even got the other discs reground and used them - no problems.
  16. Oh yeah, I know - LCR bushes are 80 shore - OEM bushes are approx. 50 shore. I'm tempted to give them a whirl, if only for longevity's sake to see: 1) how long they last 2) how long I last before I lose a filling
  17. Does anyone want to be my guinea pig? Lol! I am heavily considering: http://www.powerflexsuspensionbushes.co.uk/leon--cupra-r-powerflex-black-pff85-430blk-front-strut-top-mount-bush-5988-p.asp They list them for the Fabia too directly: http://www.powerflexsuspensionbushes.co.uk/skoda-fabia-5j-powerflex-black-pff85-430blk-front-strut-top-mount-bush-6066-p.asp Which are 95 shore... These are on my purchases list. To be replaced when I do suspension changes in the next month all being well. If someone wants to take the plunge on these before me, feel free - else i'll write up a review when i've got them. Chris
  18. So. Today I replaced the indicators with Philips silver visions and the headlights with Philips Xtreme Vision 100% bulbs. Before: After: Too bright for a light comparison but they look nice. Does anyone know the easiest way to get to the side lights? It seems very... inaccessible and I've not touched a mk2 till today! Sent from my S5 using Tapatalk
  19. This (and other things) may have given me an exceedingly good idea for uses for my skills... ...If I get anything together i'll let you know
  20. Even if you stick the covers in the wash - you'll find the sponge holds all manner of crud in there... Personal opinion is if you need to do it, do it well. Covers off, and get a wash vac to do the sponge whilst the covers are being washed!
  21. You make your frustration known to the owner, you name and shame, and you stop going. Done. It's all about trust and if you can't trust your mechanic to treat your car with respect... Then it's bang out of order and you shouldn't be handing over your keys to them ever again.
  22. Got to be the switches or the wiring loom being damaged. Especially considering the convenience system can send the signal to control the windows, that means all motors and convenience system is working... Get it checked ASAP. If it's wiring water ingress, it starts spreading through wiring and can eventually kill your convenience system. Chris
