  1. I have been looking at changing the caps as well but currently cannot decide if the matt black VW covers will look better than the gloss black ones listed above. I changed the covers on my Fab VRS to the VW ones (ebay - vwtrim seller) and they did look quite good. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/254458-i-hate-coppers/page__hl__+cmb#entry2987627
  2. I am very tempted to buy them for my Blackline. Can anyone confirm that these are the correct ones for my car https://www.dectane....7de88242e4ffeeb Also, do these have the reflector built in to the bottom of the light or am i mis-reading stuff again?? Ta
  3. Brimma, in one of your original posts you said that you thought the seal was "floppier" than the original. Now you have had them on the car for a while have you had any problems??
  4. and which part of the above did i laugh at like a total child......................
  5. Looks spot on. Where did you source your number plate holder from and how have you attached it?
  6. I have to admit I have always been a fan of getting rid of the chrome grill surround. Whether it be by wrapping or painting I really think it improves the look of any of the Skodas. My surround is currently in a bodyshop being painted black. I just hope I don't break any of the clips when re-fitting the black grill section !!!
  7. Failing to service my Fabia correctly (over filling air conditioning unit) and then cleaning my car after they had been specifically told NOT to. Turns out that their servicing prices are not at all competitive (compared to a VW specialist). Being fobbed off about a warranty claim on my Octavia by making me take the car to them and then saying that their bodyshop is no longer approved. I will now say that I WILL NEVER TAKE ANY CAR THAT I OWN NOW, OR IN THE FUTURE, TO THIS GARAGE !!!! If asked, i would advise anyone to find an alternative dealer!
  8. Update to this saga: After having had to get my 75 yr old father to take my car down to the dealer (i was in work by the way) for them to inspect the damage i received a phone call from them, an hour or so later, saying that their bodyshop was no longer approved by Skoda UK and that they could no longer help me. They said i would have to take the car to any other dealer that had an approved bodyshop!!! Why they couldn't have told me that before, when they knew the reason for bringing the car to them in the first place, God only knows. Anyway, i was straight on the phone to Skoda UK who have now arranged for me to take my car into another dealer for them to inspect and hopefully carry out the warranty work. Updates to follow.
  9. Had to get someone else to drive my car to the dealers as it turns out there is a clause in the warranty that states: "Mechanical adjustments after 6 months or 6500 miles are also excluded from warranty cover such as: Door adjustments etc etc" As my car was about 3 days away from the end of this exclusion the garage would not accept a warranty claim without them actually inspecting the car. They have taken photos of the damage so they can send the info to Skoda Uk for the claim. Hopefully i can get the car booked in to have the work carried out asap.
  10. Hi All, A couple of days ago I started having an issue where the drivers doors was making an odd "clunking" noise when opening and closing. While cleaning my car yesterday i discovered the bottom right hand corner of the door was making contact with the bodywork of the car when opening or closing the door. I have also found that one of the main bolts holding the door is completely loose. It looks like the only way to tighten this bolt back up is either by hand or by taking the front wing off to get access. Obviously this is a warranty claim as the paintwork on the corner of the door and the bodywork is now damaged. Has anyone else had, or has heard of, doors not being fitted correctly ??
  11. I put the new style centre caps on my Fabia when i had the wheels re-furbished and i literally had to stamp the new caps in place. They were a real pain to get on.
  12. OH GREAT !!!! So i go and buy a 6 quid item for 20 euros !!! Had mine for a few weeks now (from Superskoda) and have to admit it certainly does work a treat !!
  13. cheers Bruce Any chance you can confirm whether or not the other side of the unit (re main photo) is the OBD connector or is there a separate lead?? (and now i have looked more closely at the photo i can see its a button and not an LED.....DOH!!)
  14. and, while we are on the subject, whats with the random white unit :wonder: :wonder:
  15. Thanks for that Gizmo. I wasn't sure as the other end of the unit, from this angle, looks like the connector. On a side note.......who put a white led where a red one should be on the unit 2nd from bottom on the left
  16. Do you know if the mobile unit plugs straight into the port or is there a cable adapter?
  17. the little hook on the underneath of the parcel shelf that allows you to attach the boot floor hatch when accessing the spare tyre
  18. thats my main worry about a remap on my Octy. I remapped my Fabia using one of Shark's STS units (which was awesome by the way) but my car was way out of the warranty at the time so i didn't worry about it.
  19. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, i was too eager to post to check every other word (grammar nazi now hiiiiiiiiiiiiiding )
  20. OK OK...i will change it for £6.50 and throw in a half used air freshener What i don't understand is why dealers think people are going to carry on using them when they do things like this. I guess they assume people are going to return to them whatever. The only way i would go back to a dealer now is if i absolutely had to for warranty work, like yourself, but i would make sure they did not carry out any work without a phone call to myself beforehand. The VW specialist i use now will always phone before doing any work however minor and run through it with me on the phone. The same garage did not charge a penny for activating bluetooth, via VCDS, on my Amundsen stereo and it is things like that which will always make me want to go back. (on a side note i will slag you off for spelling 'complete' incorrectly..............grammar nazi awaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy :moon: )
  21. I would have done it for £9.50. You would have saved yourself loads !!
  22. Does anyone know if Ross-Tech keep an eye out on eBay for the fake cables and report them. I am often on eBay in an attempt to blag a bargain (genuine, not fake) and quite often end up reporting the fakes to eBay! There is one persistent bu$$er that has used quite a few seller names now. I cant be the only one doing the reporting or does eBay get rid the of fakers quickly if there is more than one report ??
  23. What are these ones http://www.www.f2tun...g.html?start=13 as they seem to list the RSK04 versions.
  24. And now i have just read the bit where you say "non maxidot". I am assuming the change can still be made
