Not actually got one yet, looking at one tomorrow which is 99% bought. It's done 85k and is a 2004. Just like to have a plan! -

stuck on which colour to choose
OllieH replied to tombirch95's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Dark metallic grey would be my choice and paint not a wrap. Good luck! -
Thanks for the replies, I know there's a lot of crap out there and I'm willing to spend a bit more for a better car. For me unless it's an SE then I can't see any being worth more than 5k. I'll just bide my time for the right car...... At the right price! I like the mk2 vrs interior which apparently is a straight swap so I think I might go that route.

Interesting..... Cheers!

Cheers DanHam, I offered 4700 but I'm tempted to just buy a regular one around the 4k mark and if it really annoys me swap it or retrim it.

I'm in the market for a fabia, I've been lurking for a while and biding my time for the right car. I'd prefer to spend less than 4.5k with up to 90k miles. What's people's opinions on current values and what value does the leather option add to a car. I won't name the seller but there is such a car for sale none SE, looks mint but the seller won't budge from 5295 it's an 06 with 60k. Thanks!

Good luck with the sale..... At the price your asking you really need a lot more information in the add and some high quality pictures. Bare in mind that you will be competing with some far more desirable cars which puts yours in a niche market. You need to find someone in the owners club which means that they will have the knowledge and probe every detail of the car. I would be asking about the common faults, cambelt intervals, are all the tyres matching, what cleaning methods do you use, what products etc... If you put the effort in then you will get a lot more attention. This is a club after all and I'm sure members would prefer the nice cars to stay in it.

Have you got any interior pictures and when was the cambelt last changed?

Pm'd

There's plenty of mk1s at this price on the trader and they have been there for months! I think the dpf issue has given some demand back to the pre dpf cars.

Sent a pm for pics but not heard anything?

Ford Mondeo 2.2 TDCI or Skoda Fabia VRS 1.9 TDI
OllieH replied to MondeoST's topic in General Automotive Chat
Just out of reach at 5k your looking at 90k plus miles and there's limited choice at this price. I think you need to spend at least 6k. I agree it ticks all the boxes, I'd have one, especially one with the limited edition interior. -

Your in E46 territory at 5k which means older, higher miles and the turbo and swirl flap issues. -

Yes definitely the mk1. I can not see any reason you would be comparing the mondeo with a mk2. The main reason you buy a fabia is surely for the economy benifits. The way I read this thread is that he's looking for a performance diesel (yes I know there no real performance cars lol) I've been looking at what's about for a couple of months now and really there's only a few cars to choose from in my mind. I've driven both a fabia and a mondeo but not an st. On the face of it the fabia is a no brainier, cheap to insure, cheap to run, pretty solid with no dpf. The mondeo seems to have more faults but as said people tend to look for solutions to problems on forums so when you do a search it comes up. I was slightly put off with the reports of rust on the fabia and leaking rear doors which came up when I started searching. Plus on top of this you can get a good car or a Friday night one. Basic used car buying checks should help with this. This thread interested me as I'm in a similar boat. Another plus with the fabia is it comes backed up by a great forum.
